Chapter 13

THIRTEEN

Milo

I listened to my father’s warnings about Medina, but I couldn’t take my gaze away from Sable as I spoke to him on the phone. I should have been focused on bringing down that scum and his human trafficking operation, but I wanted one night to concentrate on a future with her.

She wore the short, red dress with the diamond straps better than any runway model ever could. My girl deserved designer dresses, and I would make sure she always had them.

“Milo.” My father's gruff voice drew my attention from Sable. “Are you listening?”

“Of course.”

“I can appreciate that it’s Valentine’s Day and you’re with Sable.” He paused for a moment, probably thinking about my mother. “But don’t let your guard down. Medina is unpredictable.”

“We’re finishing up dinner.” I rented out a restaurant so the two of us could be alone. “We’re staying at the penthouse tonight because the roads are supposed to get icy.”

“Just be safe. I’ll see you at the dealership in the morning.”

“Is there anything else you need me to do?”

“Just enjoy your night.”

When he ended the call, I joined Sable at the small table for two.

“Is everything okay?” she asked.

“My dad was just checking in.”

She motioned at the chocolate lava cake doused in raspberry sauce and whipped cream. “I waited for you.” She smiled. “It smells delicious.”

“It looks good.” I slid into the booth where she sat, abandoning my seat across from her. “But there’s only one dessert I want tonight, and I promise that one is more indulgent than any imported chocolate.”

“You’ll have your cake and eat it too.”

“Don’t tease me.”

“Thank you for the dress.” She glanced at the table. “And this amazing dinner.”

“I can give you the world.” I picked up the fork and broke off a piece of the cake, causing the hot fudge to ooze out. “But let’s start with this.” I brought the fork to her lips and gently placed it into her waiting mouth. “How is it?”

“Decadent.” When she licked her lips, my cock responded. “Do you want some?”

“What are you offering?” I fed her another piece of the cake, before leaning close to her and sliding my tongue into her mouth and tasting the sweet chocolate.

“Whatever you want.” She swirled her finger around the whipped cream on the plate and then smeared it across my lips. When she kissed me, she sighed against my mouth.

“I want you to finish this cake.” I pressed the fork to her lips again. “While I do this.” I trailed my free hand up her thighs and under her dress. “I want to have my dessert.”

“Oh.” She closed her legs when I skimmed my fingers along her panties. “Maybe we should leave?”

“I don’t think so.” I licked the fudge from the fork as I pushed my fingers inside her.

“You have the most sensual mouth.” She leaned forward and kissed me, twisting her tongue along mine. “I have dreams of you tasting me.”

“You don’t have to dream, baby.” I set a slow, steady rhythm inside her hot core. “I’ll lick your pussy whenever it’s in front of me.”

“Milo.” She shifted her hips against my fingers. “That… Oh…”

I hiked her dress higher, revealing her panties. She glanced between her legs, watching my hand glide up and down.

“As a matter of fact, it’s in front of me right now.” I set the fork on the table and dropped to my knees. “It would be a sin to miss this opportunity.”

“Milo.” Her eyes widened. “Here?”

“Relax, Sexy Sable.” I pressed my hand against her abs and guided her to rest her back into the booth. “No one would dare bother me. I told them once dessert was served to leave us alone.”

”Why?”

“Because I knew I would need to be alone with you.” I shimmied her panties down her legs and tossed them to the floor. “Open those spectacular legs for me.”

Glancing around the room, she obeyed my request. I’d make her forget about anyone other than the two of us in less than three seconds. I grasped her thighs and drove my tongue inside her slick heat.

She gripped the tablecloth as she raised her pelvis off the seat and fucked my face. Her anxiety over being caught faded away. Mission accomplished. Spreading her open, I inserted my fingers deep into her as I flicked her clit with my tongue.

As I pleased her, she squirmed against my mouth. Her leg muscles tensed, and with one more push of my tongue, she unraveled into oblivion. She quietly moaned her pleasure while I licked the juices from her mound.

When I rocked back on my knees, I stared at her post-climax beauty. The blush in her cheeks spread across her face as a shy smile tugged at her lips.

“I can’t believe you just did that here.”

“Yes, you can.” I laughed. “Don’t be embarrassed.”

Modesty forced her to yank her dress into place, but I would have preferred the view a little longer.

“I’m just getting started.” I slid into the booth. “I’m going to fuck you all night. I slipped my finger inside my mouth and sucked her arousal from it. “Let me take you back to the penthouse and make you scream all night.”

“I’m ready when you are.”

“You have no idea how ready I am.” I stood from the booth. “Although, you’re about to find out.”

She flowed out of the booth with the grace of a swan and took my hand. Her desire to spend the night pleasing one another was written all over her face. When it came to sex, she couldn’t hide from me.

“You look so fucking hot in that dress.” I assisted her into a standing position. “But I’m going to enjoy taking it off you.”

She cupped my face in the side of her hand and steered my lips to hers. As I submitted to her tender and loving kiss, it occurred to me that I was just as aroused by those actions as I would be by a raw and dirty encounter. Am I evolving?

“Don’t forget my panties on the floor,” she said. “Not that I’ll be needing them.”

“You won’t.” I bent down, scooped up her panties and shoved them in my pocket. “But it would be in poor taste to leave them for the staff to dispose of.”

“You’re such a gentleman.”

“With you I am.” I took her coat from the back of a chair at an empty table and helped her into it. “When it’s necessary.”

“I much prefer when you don’t treat me to all of your manners.”

“Like when I eat you out at a dinner table in a classy restaurant on Valentine's Day?”

“Just like that.” She kissed my cheek. “Don’t ever change.”

I laughed as I opened the doors that led to the foyer where Ax, Josh, and a few other men on my security team waited by the front door.

“How was your dinner?” Ax asked.

“Tasty.” I smirked. “Especially the dessert.”

Sable nudged me before cuddling into my side. I gripped her hand and kissed the top of her head.

“I like when you blush,” I whispered.

“I’ll go get the car,” Josh said. “It’s sleeting out, so I’ll pull up in front.”

“We’ll wait here,” I said as he headed to get the car. “Be careful.”

“The streets have been quiet for Valentine’s Day.” Ax thumbed at the window overlooking the street behind Madison Square Garden. “I think the weather canceled a lot of plans for people.”

“It’s been a brutal winter.” Sable went to the window. “Cold, icy, and snowy.”

“More than usual even for New York.” Ax joined her, standing close to her. If he were anyone else, I’d be pissed, but protecting her had become instinctual for him. I had faith that if I couldn’t be with her, he would do everything in his power to keep her safe.

“When are you going to find a nice girl to spend Valentine’s Day with?” Sable asked him.

“I already have a nice girl to spend Valentine's Day with.” He scanned the street, preparing for us to go outside.

“Don’t tell Milo.” Sable giggled.

“I could kill you both and make it look like an accident,” I said. “You do realize that.”

“Then you’d be lonely." Sable came back to stand with me, taking my hand in hers. “You know my heart belongs to you.”

“Sable.” I leaned into her ear. "Everything about you belongs to me.”

“I’m very lucky.”

“One of the guys came into the foyer, bringing in the frigid wind from the street. “Milo, there was a water main break at the corner, and fire trucks and cops are on the scene, so Josh couldn't bring the car in front. He’s at the other corner.”

“Does he expect Sable to walk in those heels?” I snapped. “Tell him to find a way.”

“Milo,” Sable said. “How is he supposed to get in front? I can walk.”

I shook my head. “It’s slippery.”

“I’m pretty certain between you and Ax, I won’t fall.” She held out her other hand for Ax. “Right?”

“It’s my job to make sure you don’t fall.” He hooked his arm in hers. “No worries.”

“Thank you.” She gazed at me. “I know you would never let me fall.”

“I’ll carry you if it’s too slippery.” I wrapped my arm around her waist and kept her close to me. “Go slow.”

My guard held the door open as Ax and I carefully maneuvered Sable onto the wet sidewalk. The restaurant had salted the pavement, so it wasn't as bad as I had anticipated.

Ax directed two men to walk in front of us, and two behind us. Standard operating procedure when an Accetti walks along a public street at night.

The flickering streetlight at the corner where Josh waited caught my attention just as three men came out of the side street and stood in front of us.

When my guys placed their hands on their concealed weapons, Medina stepped into sight.

“Fuck.” I glared at Ax, warning him that Sable was his priority. I could take care of myself. He gave me a quick nod as she inched closer to me. “It’s fine.” I gripped her hand. “I’ll handle it.”

“Milo,” Medina said. “Call your men off.”

“They’re protective of me.” I memorized the faces of the men who accompanied him. “Whatever you have to say, make it quick.”

“I just wanted to wish Sable a Happy Valentine’s Day.” He smirked. “I hope you enjoyed your dinner.”

“Don’t talk to her.” I spoke through gritted teeth. “Ever.”

“She could tell me that herself.” He tried to move closer, but my men backed him off. “Do you enjoy being around such barbaric men, Sable?”

“The only barbarian I see on this street tonight is the one who traffics women,” Sable said. “So no, I don’t like being around men like you.”

Josh got out of the SUV and made his way to stand next to me.

“You’re outnumbered,” I said as Sable trembled against my side. “You didn’t come here to take me out, because you know none of you would make it out of here alive.”

“You can’t be certain I’m outnumbered.” Medina glanced around the street, but I was ready to call his bluff. I also noticed that Bello wasn’t with him. He was probably too afraid to face me after what he had done to Sable. His was fucking coming. “You never know who is with me,” he said.

“I do know that there are a dozen or so of NYPD’s finest tending to that water main break a block away from here,” I said. “You’re not brave enough to come at me here. But me, on the other hand, I am crazy enough to put a bullet between your eyes if I don’t like what you have to say.”

“Somehow I doubt that.”

“Try me.”

“I didn’t come here to fight.” He was fixated on Sable as he spoke to me. “I came here to remind you of something."

“What’s that?”

“I promise that if you don’t get your father on the same page as me, no one will be left unscathed.” He smiled at Sable. “Milo can’t keep you safe forever. Men like me are inevitable in his world.”

“Shut up!” I warned him. “You can only push me so far before I do something you’ll regret.”

I let go of Sable and reached for my gun, but she slid her hand on top of mine before I could draw it. As much as I knew I couldn’t escalate anything with so many cops in the vicinity, her bold move caught me off guard, knocking me off my game.

What the fuck?

“Oh, Mr. Accetti.” Medina’s laugh was colder than the sleet that pelted us. “Have you learned nothing from your brother and his train wreck of a wife?”

“Fuck you,” I shouted. “Don’t look in Sable’s direction. Don’t talk to her. Don’t even think about her.”

“It looks like I may have found your weak spot.”
