Chapter 18
EIGHTEEN
Sable
No, no, no! I rushed into the bathroom in Milo’s office, barely making it to the toilet before the vomit splattered across the white porcelain and hit the water.
Gross! I flushed the toilet before plopping onto the cold tiles and resting my back against the wall, waiting for the room to stop swirling. Heat radiated down my throat and spread across my chest as my head throbbed. The pain was most prominent behind my eyes.
“Are you okay?” Lissia asked as she came into the bathroom and closed the door. “Milo’s worried about you.”
“I think it’s a migraine,” I said. “My head’s been off all morning.”
“Did you take anything?” She leaned against the sink. “I might have something in my bag.”
“Thank you, but strangely enough, the pressure in my head seemed to release once I threw up.” I kicked off my heels. “I just need a few minutes.”
“Migraines are the worst, but throwing up does seem to help. I read it has something to do with the digestive system or something like that.”
“I didn’t eat breakfast, and then Nico and I were talking and that always makes me nervous.” I took a breath. “Then you and Marchello came home and there were all these emotions and I…”
“I get it.” She smiled. “You don’t have to explain.”
“If anyone gets it, it would be you.”
Lissia could be a useful ally when it came to figuring out how I fit in around here. I wanted to adjust quickly and be part of Milo’s family. They meant so much to him.
“It’s nice to see you and Milo worked out your differences.” She opened a drawer in the cabinet at the sink and took out a washcloth. “I’m excited that you’ll be at the house.”
“It’s such a big house.”
“It is, but it has a cozy feel.” She ran the washcloth under the water. “I haven’t lived there long. After Chello and I got married, we went to Miami, and then we took an extended honeymoon.”
“You had an adventure.”
“We did.” She motioned me to stand and join her by the sink. “I like being home. Marchello needs his family, and I miss my mom and Ricardo.”
I pushed myself off the floor, catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror. “Oh, I look drained.”
“Migraines will do that to you.” She rummaged through the drawer and pulled out a brand-new toothbrush and some toothpaste. “Here, this will make you feel better.”
“Thank you.” I took the toothbrush from the package and put some paste on it. “How did you know these things were here?”
“Marchello spends a lot of time here, sometimes pulling an all-nighter, and he has the basics in his office, so I figured Milo would too.”
As I brushed my teeth, Lissia checked her hair in the mirror. Her stunning beauty filled the reflection in front of me. Perfect olive skin, long silky black hair, complimented by flawless eyebrows and long lashes.
Once I was finished, Lissia took the washcloth and pressed it against my forehead.
“You have really pretty skin.” She studied my face. “Those freckles are adorable.”
“I was just thinking how perfect your skin is.”
“HydraFacials.” She moved the washcloth to my cheek, cooling my heated flesh. “They are miracle workers. Have you ever had one?”
“I’ve never had a regular facial much less a hydra one.”
“What!” She pressed the cloth to my other cheek. “Girl, we’re going to fix that. I’ll make appointments for us. I can probably get us in tomorrow.”
“I have to work tomorrow.”
“Milo’s your boss.” She laughed. “You can do whatever you want. I’ll tell him we’re having a girls’ day. He won’t mind.” She grabbed a dry towel from the drawer and patted my face. “It’ll be fun.”
I had a feeling most people didn’t win an argument when they were up against Lissia.
“Thank you for your help.” I smoothed my hair, tucking it behind my ear. “I look a little better.”
“Here.” She reached into her pants pocket and took out a tube of lip gloss. “This fixes everything.” She twisted the top and pulled out the wand and carefully smeared it across my lips. “This is a great color for you.”
Everyone gave her such a hard time, but she was so kind to me. I could tell Milo and Nico loved her, but from their smart comments when they spoke of her, I thought she’d be more difficult to get along with.
When I met her in Puerto Rico she was fun and polite, but we were only together for a quick visit. After these few minutes, I could see us being friends.
“How come you’re not afraid of Nico?” I asked.
“I live with Marchello.” She rolled her eyes. “Trust me, you got the easiest Accetti. Milo is much more reasonable than his brother and father.”
“I’m still learning him.”
“He’s fierce but gentle.”
“He takes really good care of me.”
“They all have unique personality quirks, and Nico is by far the scariest, but he has a huge heart and he taught Chello and Milo to be men. They are controlling, but they respect women.” She twirled a strand of her hair around her finger.
“They get a lot of things from Nico. Their charisma, hot looks, and amazing style. No one wears a suit like those men can.”
“You love all of them.” I put my shoes back on.
“With everything I have.” She smiled. “They’re my family, and now they’re yours.”
Being part of this particular family could be daunting, but I was here for it. I meant it when I told Nico that I loved Milo and everything that came with him.
“We just have to stick together.” Lissia hooked her arm in mine. “We’ll be fine.”
“I’m glad you’re home.”
“Me too.” We walked through Milo’s office. “Let’s get back before Marchello sends a search party for me.”
“The hovering takes a bit of getting used to,” I said.
“That’s an interesting way of putting it.”
We strolled down the hallway back to Marchello’s office.
“I describe it as possessive, alpha male bullshit.” Lissia giggled. “It’s sexy.”
“Oh, I suppose.” She wasn’t wrong. Sometimes it was impossible to get Milo to bend, but he always had my best interest at heart.
“Don’t get me wrong, I fucking love being my husband’s obsession.”
I didn’t mind being Milo’s sole focus either, especially when he touched me like I was the only woman who ever existed. A warm shiver ran through my body when we reached Marchello’s office and Milo caught me in his gaze.
Trapped me, holding me hostage with one dominating stare. Before I could even enter the room, Milo was by my side and clutching my hand in his. Fierce but gentle. That was the perfect description for him.
“How are you?” he asked.
Lissia tossed me a smile, probably thinking about Milo hovering, before joining Nico and Marchello. I liked his attention.
“I’m fine.”
“What happened?”
He led me down the hall and took me to a little cut-out structure tucked in the corner, away from all the noise in the office. It was out of sight and dimly lit. Sometimes, I disappeared here for a few minutes when I felt overwhelmed with a hectic day. No one ever came down there.
“A headache was coming on and I was feeling overheated and nauseous, so I stepped away for a bit.” With my hand still in his, I leaned against the wall. “I feel better now.”
“I was worried about you.” He caressed my cheek. “You look a little worn out.”
“Don't worry about me.”
“Don’t ask me to do the impossible.”
“In my eyes, you can do anything.” When I let go of his hand, he placed it on my hip. “Lissia was a big help. Thanks for sending her to look for me.”
“Did she tell you I did that?”
“No, but I know you did.” I draped my arms over his shoulders. “She’s great.”
“She’ll be good for you.” He leaned into my ear. “Just don’t pick up any of her bad habits.”
“She’s trying to take me for a facial tomorrow.” I laughed because Lissia’s corruption of me had already begun. “I told her I had to work, but she said she would ask you.”
“She is not going to ask me.” He trailed his lips from my ear to my jaw, stirring my insides. “She’s going to tell me that you’re getting facials.”
“I think you’re right.” I rested my head against the wall when he slid his hand across my stomach and kissed his way to my lips. “What are you doing?”
“Getting hard.”
“Milo!” I placed my hand on top of his, stopping him from reaching under my dress. “We can’t do this here.”
“We can.” He smirked. “But I have to take your panties off first.”
“No.”
“You don’t want to because you don’t feel well or because you’re afraid we’ll get caught?” He unbuckled his belt. “I’ll stop if that’s what you want me to do, but turn me down for the right reason.”
“I want to but…” I gazed over his shoulder. “Can we?”
“Baby girl.” He unbuttoned his pants and lowered the zipper. “We can do whatever we want, whenever we want. Get used to it.”
He pinned me against the wall with his muscular form and took my face between his hands. Tilting my face, his hungry lips devoured mine as his solid bulge pressed against my stomach. The kiss was rough and unforgiving, compelling me to detect the urgency in this encounter.
Breaking the kiss, he ran his hands down my body, setting off a slow burn that threatened to ignite into a massive blaze of desire.
“Well?” His voice was steady and in control. “Are you going to let me fuck you?”
When he reached under my dress and put his hands on either side of my panties, I bit the corner of my lip and nodded.
“That’s my girl.” With one swift yank, my panties were around my ankles. “You know I love hearing you scream, but you can’t do that here unless you want my security team to storm in on us”
“I’ll be quiet.”
He lifted me, causing my panties to fall from my ankles. Once he secured me against the wall, I hooked my legs around his waist and he rammed his pelvis forward. The force banged me against the wall, but there was no time for me to be shocked because the thrusts kept coming.
“Oh!” We didn’t have the luxury to be loud or take our time. This meeting was raw, forbidden, and something we would both share in secret every time we passed this little hideaway in the building.
“You’re so wet.” He dug his fingers into my hip as he flattened his other hand on the wall next to my face. “If we were alone, I would drop to my knees and lick your cunt clean.”
Shit!
“Then I would spin you around and fuck you from behind.” He increased his tempo. “Getting deep enough to make you squirt all over my fingers as I tease your clit.”
“Milo.” I squeezed my eyes shut, letting the sensation between my legs take full control. “I’m going to…”
“Come?” He captured my bottom lip between his teeth and tugged before sucking it into his mouth. “I want to feel your wet juices dripping down my cock.”
“Now…” I cried out in a strained whisper.
“You’re not alone.” With a powerful slam forward, he slid his hands under my backside and held me still as his arousal flowed into me. ”Sable,” he rasped against my ear. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” I held onto him, not wanting this connection to break. “Don’t put me down yet.”
“I could stay inside you all day.”
“How did you manage to make me feel so good physically, but at the same time you made me visualize us in another compromising situation?” His dirty scenario while we were having sex heightened the experience for me.
“My mind was spinning all over the place craving the next time and we weren’t even done this time. ”
“I’m pretty amazing,” he said.
“I can’t argue.” I buried my face in the crook of his neck, inhaling the woodsy scent that would linger on my clothes and skin all day.
“As much as I hate to end this, we do have to get back to the others.”
“Can we do it again tonight?” I asked.
“You never have to ask me that.”
This quick and surprising rendezvous was exactly what I needed. Being with him centered me. Ever since we ran into Medina on Valentine’s Day, I had this unsettled fear that there was something bigger on the horizon. An obstacle too massive for us to hurdle.
It was time to suppress that doubt and focus on what was right in front of me. Medina couldn’t hurt us if we were together. Whatever came our way, I was ready to face it head-on.
What choice did I have?
