Erik

L ast night I had Grant start looking into what Eva and Brodie could be planning behind my back along with hacking into Kayleigh’s phone and laptop. I want to know where she is at all times, along with who she is talking to. She better be a good girl and not talk to any men, otherwise she will leave me no choice but fly to Ireland and kill them.

I found something you are going to want to see.

I will be there in an hour.

An hour later I walked inside Grant’s office at his tech company. I say hello to his secretary, who is his best friend’s younger sister. I think everyone but his best friend knows the main reason he hired her was to keep her close. I keep telling him to go for it, but he refuses to dirty her with his life and everything that comes with it. He says with her being his secretary at least he can keep her safe.

All he is doing is making himself miserable.

I knock on the door and walk in without waiting for him to respond. He snarls but relaxes when he sees it’s me.

“Hey, boss.”

“You look like you want to take someone’s head off. Bad morning?”

“You will be looking the same way after I show you what I found,” he says pointing to a chair. He hits a button on his desk and the blinds close. Oh, shit, this really can’t be good if he is closing the blinds.

“Brace yourself,” he says before he starts playing the video. I watch the screen behind him, seeing as Eva introduces Kayleigh to Brodie. But what I see next has me fighting my instinct to go and trash the screen in front of me.

I watch as Brodie pins her to the wall before he shoves his hands down her pants. My poor seamrag bheag tries with all her might to fight him off, but with him restraining her hands above her there is only so much she can do. I can’t even imagine what that did to her mentally.

FUCK!!

She was supposed to be safe here and yet Eva’s fucking nephew sexually assaulted her under my roof. Her roof.

I watch the rest, including Eva threatening Kayleigh that if she got in their way Brodie would do worse.

I sigh in relief when the screen goes black. I look back up at Grant. “I have emailed you their secret email accounts and the emails they have with each other. And the other people Eva has been emailing. She is planning to kill you and take everything that is yours.”

“Typical Eva, being a money hungry bitch. I want their every move tracked. Soon I will be collecting them.”

“Already on it.”

“Good. What has Kayleigh been doing?”

“Besides giving you hell, she has been staying at home with her family.”

“Good. I want you to keep an extra eye on her; if she leaves her home, I want to know.”

“Got it, boss.”

I thank him before leaving and head back to my office. I should be surprised at what Eva is planning, but I’m not. I’m just fucking pissed I let Kayleigh get hurt under my roof. As mad as I am at Eva is nothing compared to how livid I am with Brodie. He fucking forced his hands inside her. No one gets to force Kayleigh into anything.

Why didn’t she tell me? Doesn’t she know I would fucking burn the world down for her? Make no mistake, I will torture Brodie for what he did. I smirk thinking of all the ways I will get vengeance.

Everyone inside my office stays away from me. I try to calm my anger down, but knowing what she went through, I can’t.

An hour later, Darius and Rowan are sitting in my office with me discussing what Grant sent over to us.

“Do you just want to kill her?” Darius asks.

“Obviously, but we have to be smart about this. We don’t need anything coming back on us, especially with her piece of shit brother and Daddy-dearest, plus whoever A.K. is.”

“Any idea who A.K. is?”

“No. But we have been divorced for ten years and even when we were married, we never slept under the same roof. I made it my mission to spend as little time as possible with her.”

“Yeah, don’t do that next time.”

“That you don’t have to worry about. When I marry Kayleigh, she will spend every night in my bed, and I will know everything about her and know each person she comes in contact with.”

“Possessive much?”

“You say possessive, I say protective.”

“You are clearly possessive,” Rowan says.

I shrug my shoulders. “Tomato, to-mah-to.”

“Crazy son of a bitch,” Darius says with a smile.

I kick them out a bit later and decide to call and check on my seamrag bheag. I finish my paperwork in a few more hours, and once I get home, I eat dinner before heading off to bed.

Ring…Ring…Ring….

Pick up the phone.

I’m going to bed.

Then call me and say goodnight.

Leave me alone, Erik.

You know I never will. Now be a good girl and call me.

She doesn’t respond.

Kayleigh Louise O’Sullivan.

Still no response. Oh, this sassy brat is going to get it.

You are going to be in so much trouble when I see you again.

I smile when my phone rings.

Erik: Hello, seamrag bheag. How was your day?

Kayleigh: What do you want, Erik?

Erik: Can’t I call and see how my bana-phrionnsa air falbh is?

Kayleigh: I’m not your anything.

Erik: You know you are. You are mad at me, which is fine. But we have something we need to talk about. Answer the video call, I say in a deadly serious tone. Thankfully she doesn’t argue with me and answers.

Kayleigh: Hi.

Erik: Hi, seamrag bheag. I miss you.

Kayleigh: Tell me what you wanted to talk to me about, I need to get to bed.

Erik: (sighs) I saw the footage of you and Brodie from the garden.

I watch as her irritated eyes go wide, and she looks down at her lap.

Kayleigh: Oh.

Erik: Oh? Kayleigh, why didn’t you say anything?

Kayleigh: What’s the point? I was leaving and what happened to me was no longer your concern.

Erik: Not my concern? Are you fucking kidding me? Your safety will always be my concern and the fact that the motherfucker forced his fingers inside you under my roof is not acceptable at all. It will never be okay for anyone to do anything to you that makes you uncomfortable.

Kayleigh: You know I have had worse done to me. I hated it, but I survived worse.

Erik: You better not spout that bullshit ever again. I don’t care who it is, anyone who forces you to do anything will be answering to me, and trust me, Brodie will be dealt with.

Kayleigh: He’s your nephew.

Erik: Soon-to-be-dead nephew.

Kayleigh: You can’t kill him.

Erik: Watch me. Anyway, you will always tell me if or when anyone forces you to do anything you don’t want.

Kayleigh: Does that include being forced to talk and text you?

Erik: Keep running that mouth and your ass will be paying for it later.

Kayleigh: Fun fact, Erik. You won’t be spanking me because I am no longer yours.

She hangs up. “Oh, you cheeky woman,” I mutter to myself while chuckling. Life will not be boring with Kayleigh as my wife.
