Chapter 12

Harrison

I fell back into the familiar hum and student anxiety of the week before finals. We drilled information they should know, talking over the history again. It wasn’t taxing for me. I loved it, and while the students sometimes grumbled, I knew I amused them with my enthusiasm. As the week drew to a close, I knew it was up to them now. They were the ones who needed to study. Just one week left and we would all be off for the summer.

On Saturday afternoon, as I got ready for my drive to Wisconsin, my mind went to Kat’s article. I wondered when it was going to come out and what she’d written. I’d gone down the rabbit hole and read through some of her articles. It was obvious she was talented. The way Kat crafted her stories made her skill shine through. I knew my news was in good hands, but given how important this was to me, I couldn’t help but have some apprehension. This was a big deal for me, and despite our chemistry, I had only just met her. Hopefully our date tonight would alleviate some of my concerns. I fully intended to woo her and be in her bed by the time the evening was over, but I could gather some intel too.

Pulling on my dark jeans, I shivered with anticipation at the thought of her taking them off. I shook my head and checked the time, wondering if there might be time to fool around before dinner. After I finished getting dressed, I grabbed my phone.

Me: Cool if I head up now? I’ll be about thirty minutes early, but I can’t wait to see you.

I’d gotten ready entirely too early. I should have held off, but I didn’t want to. It would be better to kill the time with Kat, preferably with my head between her legs. Blowing out a breath, I attempted to calm down. I couldn’t drive the entire way with a boner. My phone vibrated in my hand.

Kat: Cool with me. See you in a bit, Professor.

Grinning, I grabbed my very presumptuous overnight bag and headed out the door.
