Chapter 44

CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR

Jordan lay on the bed, shirtless, hands tucked behind his head, staring at the ceiling. He imagined painting the walls the palest blue, like the dress she was wearing, so he’d always remember her and this night. If he could find a way to preserve the smell she left on his sheets, he’d do that too.

Tomorrow loomed like a battle call to a war he wasn’t sure he was ready to fight. He had no idea what awaited her in New York. Maybe nothing?

Part of him wanted to hide her here forever.

The two of them, the salt-licked air, the soft lull of the waves outside.

But he’d spent enough time in a cell to recognize one when he saw it.

They weren’t always metal bars and concrete walls.

There might be beach glass and driftwood here, but this house was still her prison.

Anywhere would be until he found the person that was hunting her.

“You know, for a man who is about to get supremely laid, you look far too pensive.”

His head jerked to the door, where Vanessa appeared…wrapped in a bow. He blinked slowly, but the image didn’t evaporate. His heart leaped into his throat as he jolted upright.

“Oh no, big guy, you lie back down. I’ve decided you might be more fun when you’re lying down like that.” She stepped all the way inside the room, and he let his gaze roam greedily over her body.

She wore a white, lacy thong and a giant pink bow knotted between her breasts. Where had she even gotten that? He decided it didn’t matter when she started toward the bed, one smooth, toned leg brushing against the other in her signature model walk.

“Hands on the headboard, Zeus,” she ordered, and something about her sharp tone had his dick twitching. “You need a written request?” She asked, arching a brow.

He bit back a grin. He kind of liked this domineering side of her, unexpected as it was. “That might be nice,” he said, keeping his tone purposefully neutral.

“You know,” she said, bristling, “I’m trying to give you your Valentine’s present. It would be nice if you behaved for once.”

As he hoped, his reply had gotten a rise out of her. “Funny, that sounds like the same thing I’ve been saying to you since…” He rolled his eyes upward, thoughtfully. “Oh, I don’t know, since I met you.” When he met her gaze again, she was pouting, and he went hard as a fucking rock.

Not wanting her to change her mind, he offered a good-natured smile and reached behind him to grab the headboard. “Is this the part where you tie me up?”

She quirked her lip. “Do you want me to?”

He glanced at the pink sash around her breasts. “Maybe.”

Whatever game they were playing, they only had tonight, and he was ready to give her anything she wanted. He flexed his fingers around the rails at the thought of Vanessa having her way with him and caught her eyes tracking his biceps as they tensed.

“Everything okay?”

Her gaze roamed his body. “It’s—you—” Her tongue darted across her lips. “You’re so fucking hot it’s not fair.”

He adjusted his hips, trying to relieve the uncomfortable strain on his cock. “I could say the same about you.” He made a point of dragging his gaze along her body, memorizing every detail. “The way you look right now, it’s a kind of torture.”

A wicked smile spread across her lips. “Oh no, Zeus. The torture hasn’t begun yet.”

The bed dipped when she kneeled on it, and he nearly choked on his next inhale when she crawled up his body until her lips brushed his.

“Tonight, you’re all mine.” She lowered her head to lay a kiss on the inside of his bicep, on one of his rose tattoos. “Mine.” She kissed his temple. “Only mine.” He felt her lips on the scar on his eyebrow.

The low hum of her voice as she nuzzled her soft cheek against his rough one nearly had him undone. What was she doing to him? It was pure torture.

Then she took his mouth, and there was only pure joy. Her lips were like heaven. Her tongue, a deliverance. She didn’t hold back, giving him everything. Her moan reverberated through him, and he nearly let go of the headboard.

She must have felt it, because she drew back, placing her hands on his forearms. “Uh-uh,” she scolded lightly, shaking her head.

“Not yet. Soon, but not yet.” With a teasing giggle, she reared back up on her knees, her nails lightly scraping down his chest to his hips, where she started to flick off his belt.

“Fuck.” His exhale was a hiss. “If you keep doing that, baby, I don’t think I’ll last three seconds.”

“I have faith in you, old man.” She giggled at her own ridiculous joke, and it was the most beautiful sound he’d ever heard.

When she slid his zipper open, his grip jolted the rails, shaking the whole bed. “Shit, princess. I’m a hair trigger tonight. Be sure.”

Their eyes connected before she said, “I’ve never been more sure.” Without looking away, she tugged open his fly, wiggling away so she could guide his pants over his hips. Her hand dragged over the length still covered in his briefs.

The groan that rumbled from the back of his throat was a little unhinged. “Christ, that feels so good.”

“Mmm,” she hummed, before she drew back his underwear and caught his dick in her hands. “Does this feel better?”

He choked out a breathless laugh.

“It’s so hard and strong, but so soft,” she murmured, stroking him slowly from root to tip. Then she lowered her head, and her tongue caressed his entire length, before her mouth engulfed him.

His roar was hoarse. He’d never been loud during sex, but the sounds emerging from him now were nothing short of obscene.

She hummed again, making the vibration ricochet through his entire body, exploding in his heart. When she took him so deep that she made a soft gagging sound, one of his hands let go of the rails, and gripped the back of her hair, tugging harder than he intended. “Vanessa,” he warned roughly.

She shot up, eyes watering but smirking. He’d never imagined that this act could be satisfying to any woman. All his experiences with this had been quick and usually in a haze of intoxication, but hell if Vanessa didn’t look annoyed that he’d interrupted her.

“Jordan Thompson,” she said firmly. “You are a very bad boy.” She grasped his hand still wrapped in her hair and drew it back up to the headboard. Then, she sat back on her haunches and undid the sash around her breasts. “You leave me no choice.”

She scooted up the bed, her glorious tits so close he couldn’t help himself as he drew a nipple into his mouth, and made quick work of tying his wrists to the rails.

When she was done, she looked down at him.

“If this isn’t okay—” For the first time she looked uncertain.

Her hand stayed against the tie, ready to yank it free if he told her to.

He’d never been tied up before, had never even considered it, but now that he was completely at her mercy… “I fucking love it. Do whatever you want to me. Do your best and your worst.”

With a mischievous grin, she shimmied back down his body. “Only if you trust that I’m loving every second of it.”

His head dipped back against the pillow, his eyelids sinking closed. When she wrapped her mouth around him again, a strange heat pricked behind his eyes, because this woman made him feel like he could do no wrong. Like his past didn’t matter. And her trust sounded too much like his redemption.

Her pace was slow and steady. The soft mewls that came from her, hungry and gratified. The sash around his wrists was soft, but it tightened every time he jerked against the confines. She was driving him mad and somehow grounding him at the same time, like she was both the storm and the anchor.

But if she didn’t take her mouth off him in two seconds—

“Shit!” His hips jerked violently, the sensation too powerful to control, and she released him.

“Perfect,” she said, sliding a finger across her lips. “I’ve got you right where I want you.”

A rough laugh escaped him, raw against his dry throat. “And where is that? On the verge of having a cardiac event?”

Her smile was adorable, sultry, only for him. “Oh, how many times I daydreamed about that, Zeus. Feels like a lifetime ago.” She hovered above him again, aligning him with her entrance. “Watch,” she whispered. “Watch me take you, and we can pretend I’m the last who ever will.”

If he could touch her now, he’d have sat up, tangled his fingers in her hair, kissed her deeply, and told her they didn’t have to pretend. But instead, he did as she asked, and trained his gaze on where they were about to meet. His heart sped up as her hips lowered onto him.

When she was halfway, her breath hitched, and he jerked against his binding. “Let me touch you.”

“Not yet.” Her words were strangled but determined.

“I can help.”

She gave no sign that she’d heard him. When her head dropped back, her long hair brushed his thighs, and her quiet groan grew louder as her shaking thighs lowered. None of it eased the ache growing in his balls, or the pressure building in his groin.

When her hand wrapped around his base, and she worked herself all the way onto him, his eyes rolled back.

Finally, she was seated, her hands gripping his thighs as she leaned back, nails scoring his skin, and for the first time he felt like he was…whole.

All he could see was her. All he could smell was her.

All he could hear was the thundering of both their hearts, drowning out the ocean waves outside.

She looked like a vision, bent back, bare breasts lifted upward, her smooth skin glowing under a sheen of sweat from her effort.

If he could have tattooed this image of her onto his mind forever, he would have.

“There’s nothing in the world like this. Being full of you,” she told him, and the last of his will to resist her ran for the hills.

He yanked at the restraint. “Untie me, Vanessa.”

Maybe it was his tone, or maybe she was as desperate as he was, but she leaned forward and did as he demanded.
