Chapter 30
Chapter Thirty
Tommy had never been this happy.
He lay in Mike’s arms, listening to the steady beat of his heart, Mike’s body warm against his.
They’d dozed off after making love, Tommy drifting into a deep, comfortable sleep.
It was the first time in a week that he’d been able to sleep and wake refreshed.
Mike’s breathing was even, and Tommy had no idea if his lover was awake or asleep.
He was too comfortable to move in order to find out.
Then Mike moved, stretching his lean body. He kissed the top of Tommy’s head. “Hey there.” His sigh stirred Tommy’s hair. “You feel so good lying there.”
Tommy shifted until he was leaning on Mike’s chest, looking directly at him. “Feels pretty good from where I am too.” He craned his neck, trying to see Mike’s alarm clock. “What time is it?”
Mike reached over to the nightstand and picked up his watch. “Nearly five.” Just then his stomach growled. “That’s my body complaining about missing lunch.”
“You didn’t eat?”
Mike chuckled. “I had, er, other things on my mind, shall we say.” He planted a big kiss on Tommy’s head. “How about we get up and fix ourselves something to eat? Maybe a sandwich? Because I want to take you out to dinner tonight.”
Tommy lay still, staring at Mike. “Dinner? Really?”
Mike laughed. “It’s not like we’re strangers to eating out, right? How many times have we had breakfast together at the diner?”
“Yeah, but dinner?” That felt different, more… romantic.
Mike’s expression softened. “Yeah, I know what you mean. I want to take you to somewhere beautiful, romantic, with soft lighting and low music, where I can show off my gorgeous lover.” His stomach forced out an even louder rumble, and Mike blushed. “But first things first. Kitchen.”
“No shower?” Tommy loved it when they showered together.
Mike pushed him off and then reached over to slap his ass.
“We can do that before we go out. Right now I need feeding.” He got up off the bed and strolled naked out of the room.
Tommy went to grab his briefs from the floor and then stopped, hand in midair.
It’s just us. He got up and followed Mike to the kitchen.
Tommy stood in the doorway, resisting the urge to cover himself with his hands.
Mike was at the sink, his firm ass dimpling as he moved. It was a lovely sight.
Mike paused in the middle of washing his hands, looked over his shoulder, and smiled.
“Damn, you look good like that.” He finished off his task and turned around so that Tommy could see his dick, half-hard and long.
Mike glanced down and grinned. “That’s your fault.
” He pulled a bag of bread from a cabinet and then opened the refrigerator.
“What would you like on your sandwich? I got that sliced turkey you liked last time, swiss cheese, bologna….”
“Anythin’ from that list sounds great. Can I do somethin’?”
Mike gave a nod to the fridge. “You can fill us two glasses with water. There’s ice in the freezer.”
Tommy went about his task. He couldn’t get over how natural it felt to be naked in Mike’s kitchen. It wasn’t long before they were sitting at the dining table with their snack.
Tommy shook his head. “Well, this is a first. Naked lunch.” He regarded Mike with narrowed eyes.
“You do this a lot, don’tcha? Hangin’ ’round the house, naked?
” It wasn’t something they’d done before.
Tommy was used to watching Mike moving from bedroom to bathroom in the nude, but he began to get the feeling that only now was he getting to see the real Mike. It was a good feeling.
Mike chuckled. “Okay, you got me. I like being naked, all right? But I was thinking, seeing as you’re gonna be here a lot more, you might as well get used to me in my natural state.
” He grinned, and then his expression grew more serious.
“Look, just because I walk around with it all hangin’ out doesn’t mean you have to, okay?
I could see when you walked into the kitchen that you weren’t entirely comfortable.
” He gave a half smile. “Though the sight of you sure brightened up my kitchen.”
Tommy’s cheeks grew warm. “I… I guess it’s somethin’ I could get used to.” He felt safe in Mike’s house. Then he got to thinking. “What did you mean ’bout me bein’ here more often? It’s not like I can be here durin’ the week. I got school.” It saddened him how little time they would have together.
Mike sighed. “Yeah, I know. But I was thinking, maybe instead of staying with Ben on the weekends, you should come stay with me. If you want to, of course.”
If he wanted to? Tommy beamed. “I’d love that.”
“Though I should warn you. Staying here the weekend would mean Sunday lunch with my mom, who is dying to meet you, by the way.”
That stopped him. “You’re takin’ me to meet your mom?”
Mike put down his glass of water and reached for Tommy’s hand across the table. “Of course. She needs to meet the man I love.”
A warm glow suffused Tommy’s entire body. “Oh.” The softly spoken syllable didn’t convey even half the emotion that coursed through him.
“But for now, how about you come away with me this weekend? I could pick you up Friday night after class, and bring you back as late as we can Sunday. We could go to the coast, if you like. ”
A whole weekend away with Mike. And he’d thought he’d never been this happy. “That sounds great.” Then he paused. “But what about Woofs? Would you be able to get the time off?”.”
Mike winked. “Sure. I’ll pull in a few favors. It shouldn’t be a problem.” He smiled. “And just so you know? The thought of spending a weekend away with you makes me really happy. I know it’s only for a couple of days, but I think it’ll be great. I’m sure we’ll find some fun things to do.”
Tommy didn’t care what they did, as long as they did it together.
Mike got up from the table and took the plates to the kitchen, Tommy following. “Well, that filled a hole. I’m gonna make some coffee. You want some?” Tommy nodded. Mike started setting up his coffee machine. “We can always Skype during the week when you’re at school, y’know.”
The memory of their first Skype call sent heat rushing through Tommy. “Uh, okay.”
Mike laughed. “And every call doesn’t get to be like that first one, dirty boy. There was something I’ve been meaning to ask you about that. Your Skype address, TNewsome1995. Why that year?”
Without thinking, Tommy replied, “It’s the year I was born.” The words were out before he remembered.
Too late. Mike was staring at him, eyebrows raised. “Uh, Tommy? How old are you? Right this second?”
Well, shoot. “Nineteen,” he said quietly. “I’ll be twenty next month, though.”
“Nineteen,” Mike repeated slowly. “So I’m not dating a twenty-one-year-old student after all.” He bit his lip. “Well, that explains the Cherry Cokes.”
“Hey, I drink Cherry Coke because I really don’t drink.” What must he be thinkin’? “I’m sorry.” Tommy’s heart sank. “I didn’t mean to keep it from ya. I was gonna tell ya about the fake ID, honest.” He watched Mike’s expression for some clue as to his reaction.
Mike crossed the kitchen floor and took him in his arms. “It’s okay.
At least I know now.” He peered intently at Tommy.
“But from now on, no secrets, okay? And that goes for me too.” He kissed Tommy on the mouth.
“I mean it, Tommy. I want you in my life, and I want us to last, so that means starting as we mean to go on, with us both being honest.”
Tommy looked into his eyes and smiled. “I want that too. An’ I promise, no more secrets.
” That earned him another kiss. The feel of Mike’s dick against his thigh was a reminder of their state, and his shaft hardened.
“Uh, would you mind if I put some clothes on?” Maybe he wasn’t cut out to be a nudist. Not yet at any rate. Maybe with more practice.
Mike chuckled. “I tell you what. Let’s both put on some clothes. It’s just occurred to me that maybe we should go pick up your stuff before dinner. You might want a change of clothing.”
He had a point. “Yeah, let’s do that.” Besides, he knew Caroline would want to know how things were going. He couldn’t wait to see her face when he shared Mike’s news. And then dinner out with Mike.
It was looking like it was going to be a great evening.
Mike always liked eating out at Joe’s on Juniper. There were classier restaurants in Atlanta, true, but he loved eating outside with the colored lights sparkling in the trees, watching the people go by.
Tommy loved it, judging from the look of delight on his face. He kept looking up at the sparkly canopy above their heads and smiling. “This is so nice.”
“I’m glad.” Mike hadn’t missed the looks from some of the restaurant’s occupants.
There’d been a few subtle double takes when someone had recognized him, but Tommy’d had his fair share of admirers too.
Not that Mike was surprised. Tommy was well built and muscled, with a face that drew all kinds of attention to him.
Mike took Tommy’s hand. “You happy?”
Tommy let out a sigh. “Yeah. Though it’s makin’ me feel greedy for more time with ya.”
Mike felt the same way. In fact, he’d been thinking about that all afternoon. “So, you’re in your second year?”
Tommy nodded. “I’ve been thinkin’ ’bout doin’ summer school, so I could end up doin’ three years instead of four. Then there’s another three years at the veterinary school on top of that.”
Mike whistled. “A lot of studying.” They’d discussed it before, but now it suddenly had more meaning. Now they were together.
“Yeah, but it’ll be worth it at the end, if I get to be a vet.
” His expression sobered. “’Course, that means I’d have even less time with you in the summer.
” He let out another sigh and then seemed to shrug off his contemplative mood.
“What about you? What you gonna do now you’re not doin’ porn anymore? ”
