Epilogue

Foster

Two Years Later

“You all ready to go, little one?” Daddy asks as he wraps his arms around me from behind.

I look at him in the mirror, my smile wide as I nod. Time has been surprisingly good to us both. My hair is a lot grayer now than it used to be, a change Daddy gushes over often. I didn’t know silver fox kink was a thing until him.

As for Daddy, he’s matured as well, though it’s more in attitude than appearance. He still trains regularly with his brother, and he maintains a skincare routine that would put most to shame. Most people guess his age as way younger than he is as a result of his efforts.

“Yep! I wanna go now!” I shout.

He shakes his head. With a quick spin, he turns me in his arms. His lips come down on mine, the kiss soft but hard too. It’s his claiming mark. The one he does when we have to go be around other people for a while.

Granted, these people are our friends and family. The claiming is more for his peace of mind than jealousy.

The alarm on his phone goes off, making him groan. “Ugh! We have to get a move on, or the others will tease us this whole week. I just know it.”

I smile knowingly.

He’s right, of course. Our friends will spend the whole time we’re together making fun of us for being late to our Little vacation.

After coming back from the trip two years ago, the guys saw how good it was for me to have time away. They decided to join us for the trip the next year, though they each had someone special to bring too. It’s become a tradition now, with even Duval's brother tagging along.

“We should get a move on, Daddy.”

“I’ll never tire of hearing you call me that. It’s the greatest gift to have you as my boy.”

I can say I feel the same, though I don’t. Daddy knows I love hearing all the things he calls me.

His boy.

Little one.

The only title I like as much is when he calls me husband. But that’s a different story.

“Come on, little one. We’ve got a plane to catch and kites to fly.”

“YES! Kites! Kites! I want allll the pretty kites, Daddy.”

I begin detailing the designs I want to find on this trip to add to our collection. Daddy’s smile is wide as he leads us down to the car.

“We’ll buy you however many kites you want. All you have to do is tell Daddy you like it and it’s yours.”

Leaning forward, I press a kiss to his cheek. “I like this one,” I tease.

“Oh, little one. I’m already yours. I have been since the second those beautiful eyes opened on that plane years ago. You’ve had my heart in your hands since.”

Tears fill my eyes as I take in this perfect man. I can’t believe I almost didn’t meet him because I thought a vacation was a dumb idea. Joke’s on me.

It was the best surprise ever.
