Chapter 8

“Do you think he’s having second thoughts?” Veronica asked me, nodding to where Nicky went.

He was currently standing at the bar, paying the bill. We still had partial drinks left, so it wasn’t like we had to rush out of here, but something told me that he was ready for either this night to begin or for it to end. I was betting on the former.

“He’s hard to read at times but I know him. If he wasn’t into this, he would say so,” I explained.

“You think so?”

I looked at her then.

She was chewing her bottom lip, her brows furrowing in the middle.

“I do.”

“I just don’t want any issues. I know you two have been sleeping together for a while and…” She shrugged. “I just don’t want to come between whatever this thing is that you’re doing with him.”

“All we’ve been doing is fucking,” I told her. “It’s not like we’re a couple.” That thought should have stayed in my head. Especially when it came out filled with contempt.

“That’s clearly a touchy subject.”

“You have no idea,” I grumbled, needing to change the subject since Nicky was now making his way back to the table.

“Let’s finish our drinks and then we’ll head back to my hotel,” Nicky offered, taking a large swig from his bottle of beer.

“Are we all sure about this?” I asked Veronica’s question out loud, since I was the one who had originally gone on a date with her, and it was because of me that she met Nicky in the first place.

“Yes, I need to be used for once.” Veronica laughed lightly. “It makes me sound desperate.”

Both Nicky and I chuckled.

“Nah. Just means you’re down for a good time is all.” He winked.

“And I could always use a good night of…being used.” I grinned.

She laughed, shaking her head. “Thank you both for making me feel normal about this.”

“You don’t need to thank us,” Nicky answered for both of us.

Which was true. I was just as new to this as she was, but like her, I could also use a night of passion, pleasure, and pure hard sex.

By the time our drinks were finished, the heaviness from earlier was no longer hovering over us.

We walked out of the bar with Nicky’s arm wrapped around Veronica’s shoulders and with me holding her hand.

To onlookers, we probably looked like a happy throuple or three really good friends.

Not two guys who’d just met a woman and was about to take her back to a hotel for a hard fuck.

Nicky led the way to his car which was parked a block away.

We walked in silence with Veronica between us.

I glanced over at him every so often, wondering what he was thinking.

This was about to be a show that he was going to run, and I didn’t know how it was going to go.

I could take a few guesses, but I knew that nothing could prepare me for what he had in store for both me and Veronica.

It was one thing I liked about him. Every time with him was a new experience. It was far from boring and often kept me on my toes. It was exciting and one of the many reasons I kept going back for more.

When his car came into view, Veronica stopped, forcing us to halt in our steps.

“What’s wrong?” I asked her, wondering if she was having second thoughts all of a sudden.

“What’s going on with you two?” she asked, turning to face us and placing her hands on her hips while staring up at both of us.

A look passed between Nicky and me.

“His brother is my best friend.” A fact I’d already told her but felt the need to say it again because I really had no idea what she was getting at.

“We’ve known each other for years,” Nicky added. “He’s comfortable.” He looked at me then. “You’re comfortable.”

“Which means I don’t come with baggage like I’m sure a lot of people you’ve fucked over the years have had.” I waited, raising an eyebrow. “I’m right, aren’t I?”

“It’s…” He sighed, glancing back at the woman we were about to spend the night with. “It’s complicated.”

She looked directly at me then, probably wanting to see if his comment pissed me off.

It did, but I wouldn’t let either of them know that.

When this night was through, I had a decision to make.

Continue being used by Nicky or move on from him completely.

It would be hard, and I would need some time to think it over, but I couldn’t do this anymore.

Presley had been right in saying that Nicky was going to hurt me.

Maybe not intentionally but my stupid fucking heart got in the way, and I could no longer handle just being a random fling whenever he decided to come back to town.

The longer Veronica stared at me, the more my heart began to race.

She knew it was all an act. How she knew was beyond me but before she could say anything because I really didn’t want to discuss it, I stomped toward her.

Catching her jaw in my hand, I tilted her head back.

She swallowed hard, her eyes darkening even more at the firm grip I had on her.

Turning her head to the side, I leaned down toward her ear.

“I suggest quitting while you’re ahead, baby girl,” I whispered, letting my lips brush along the shell of her ear.

“I’m not dominant in the least but I am a very fast learner.

One night with Nicky and I can have you on your knees, begging for every inch of my cock to fill every one of your slutty little holes. ”

A soft gasp left her.

I chuckled against her ear. “Do I make myself clear?”

“Yes,” she whispered.

“Good.” I smacked a hard peck on her mouth, released her jaw, and grabbed her hand. “Nicky, take us to your hotel.”

“Fucking finally,” he mumbled, continuing the pace to his vehicle.

I knew exactly how he felt.

Once we were seated in his car, with Veronica in the passenger seat and me in the back, Nicky started the engine and peeled out of the parking lot.

My fingers itched to run them over every inch of his body while Veronica rode me.

Or maybe she could ride him, and I would fuck her tight little ass.

I shivered as the images played over and over in my head like a movie reel.

I was ready. Primed and fucking ready for both of them.

I hadn’t been with a woman in a long time I almost forgot how they felt.

The soft curves of their body. The velvet heat of their pussy.

I sighed, leaning my head back against the seat behind me.

“You good?” Nicky asked, glancing at me through the rearview mirror.

“Yup. Just antsy.” My palms were also sweaty, and my heart was racing.

It felt like a billion butterflies were flying around in my stomach.

I didn’t know why I was nervous. Maybe it had to do with the fact that this was new for both Veronica and me.

Nicky had experimented a lot in his life, so he was far more experienced than both of us put together.

“I’m nervous,” Veronica confessed.

“You are?” Nicky raised an eyebrow. “I thought you were all for a night of fun,” he said, using her words.

She laughed, running a hand through her hair. “Yeah, but that doesn’t mean a girl can’t be nervous. It’s not like I think either of you will hurt me or anything but both of you are sort of…well…intense.”

I grunted. “That’s Nicky. He’s always been intense.”

“I have not.” He rolled his eyes.

“Uh, yeah you have.” I chuckled. “Remember when that guy hurt your brother and you drove to his house to burn it down? You even grabbed a can of gas. If we hadn’t stopped you, you would have done it.”

“You don’t hurt my brother.” He shrugged like it was no big deal.

“I think that’s kind of sweet.” Veronica laughed. “A bit extreme. But still sweet.”

“Or how about that time your dad lost his job because of a misunderstanding, and you went to the office with a machete in hand. Do you remember that?” It was one thing I had loved about him. He was passionate and would do anything to protect those he cared about.

“Okay, okay, but you don’t fuck with people I love.” Nicky ran his hand over the back of his neck. “They’re lucky that was all I did though.”

“They’re lucky that we were there to step in.” I sat forward. “Nicky has a bit of a temper,” I told Veronica.

She giggled. “I’d say.”

“Whatever,” Nicky grumbled. “Just because I threatened a few people, doesn’t mean shit.”

A laugh boomed through me, earning me a grin.

“Well, I think it’s sweet that you were trying to protect the people you love,” Veronica added. “I wish I had that.”

“You do now,” Nicky told her. “Even if tonight is a one-time thing, you’ll always have us in your lives for as long as you’d like. Just say the word and I’ll go after your ex-husband.”

She laughed, but I knew Nicky wasn’t joking.

He winked.

Ten minutes later and we were pulling into a parking lot outside his hotel.

The fact that we were much closer to getting this night started, made my palms even more sweaty.

What the hell was wrong with me? It wasn’t like it was my first time with the guy.

Maybe it was because we had Veronica joining us this time.

I wasn’t sure but this nervous energy needed to go away because there was no way I was going to end this night without having a taste of her pussy.

When Nicky parked, Veronica was the first to leave the car.

“You good?” he asked me once we were alone.

“Are you?”

A sly grin spread on his face. “As long as you’re there, I’m definitely good.”

“Why are we doing this?” I blurted, wincing at my fuck up. “Never mind.” I left the car, ignoring the fact that he called out my name.

“What’s wrong?” Veronica asked, turning toward me and placing her phone back in her purse.

“I’m fine,” I said instead but I wasn’t.

Yes, I wanted a night with both of them, but I also wanted Nicky to get his head out of his ass and talk to me.

I didn’t give a shit that he traveled for a living and didn’t really have a home anymore.

I wanted to be with him. I wanted more than just sex.

My stomach twisted at the thought. Never letting myself think those things before, I always just went with the flow when it came to him.

“That’s not what I asked but okay.” She gave me a small smile and hooked her arm in mine.

Nicky came up to her other side, his eyes burning into the side of my head, but I ignored him. Again.

He didn’t say anything and led the way to the elevators. He was staying on the top floor after renting out a suite. It looked more like an apartment and was bigger than the place I lived in. I didn’t even know we had a hotel like this in the small city we lived in.

“Make yourselves comfortable,” he said softly, pulling off his jacket and laying it over the back of the couch. “There’s a minibar if you want a drink.”

Veronica went up to the large bay window that overlooked the city. “Wow, this is quite the view.”

I followed her and stepped up behind her, placing my hands on her shoulders. “It is.”

“I can think of a better view.” Nicky grabbed her hand and pulled her away from me. “Strip.”

Her cheeks reddened, a slow grin spreading on her face. “As you wish.” She licked her lips. “Sir.”
