Chapter Eleven
KERES
Later
I dive deeper, relishing the cool water becoming colder. Loch can’t follow me down here. His body hasn’t acclimated to his new form. Circling around, I search for Loch’s shadow floating overhead.
Nothing moves other than the ripple of the tides through the sea. I float closer to the surface, reminding myself he’s able to take care of himself. Something brushes against my fin, and I fold my body, then shoot up. I’m tugged back down and I glance below.
Loch grins up at me, his arm wrapped around my tail. His dark scales seem to absorb what little light filters through the water at these depths. I kick out, yet he doesn’t let go. He practically crawls up my body until his chest presses into my back. We race to the surface to watch the sunset.
He nuzzles my neck and I tilt my head, peace stealing through me.
“What are you going to do when I can go deeper than you?”
I roll my eyes. “You’ll get eaten by something bigger and scarier than a merman.”
“Ever see a kraken down there?”
“Nope. Because I’m smart enough to stay above their domain.” I turn in his hold and wind my arms around his neck. “Still sad about losing the Black Maiden?”
“Not even a little,” he murmurs, brushing his lips against mine. “Although sometimes I miss being on two legs.”
I bury my face in his chest, hiding my grin.
When he confessed he thought he’d turn into a hideous monster, I may have laughed.
Apparently, the gods knew what they were doing, though I’m still pissed they made us wait so long to find each other.
I would’ve gladly skipped being betrayed by the man I thought I loved and then taking his curse upon myself in some misguided attempt at loyalty.
“Do you ever wish you wouldn’t have met her?”
He sighs, then presses a kiss to my temple. “For a long time I did. If I’d have never met her, she wouldn’t have cheated me. I wouldn’t have retaliated, then been cursed. Now, I realize I had to sail that route to find my way to you. I’d go through it all again for this.”
“You know what I’d like to go through again?” I murmur, holding back a shiver.
“What’s that, nymph?”
“That move you did last night.”
He chuckles, then whispers in my ear, “That can definitely be arranged.”
He releases me, then grabs my hand, and we set off toward an outcropping of rocks. I shudder in anticipation as I watch his sleek body cut through the waves effortlessly.
Once we reach the small plateau, he wastes no time and sets me on land while he settles between my legs.
He runs a finger from my waist to where my feet used to be, and a shimmer of magic sparks.
My tail splits from one to two, mimicking legs with fins on the end.
I barely catch a glimpse of his scales shimmering under the water and exposing his hardened cock.
His tongue darts out and licks the salty water from his bottom lip as he pushes my knees apart.
He meets my gaze and his eyes darken with desire.
I lean on my palms, then think better of it and lie on my back.
I’d rather not hit my head when my body reaches the pinnacle of pleasure.
He chuckles lightly, and I slap his back with one of my tails.
I jolt when he runs his tongue along one fold, then the other.
My hands tangle in his dark hair, and he wraps his lips around my exposed clit.
Streams of light dance across my body from the setting sun as he curls two fingers within me.
An ache builds inside, and I yank on the strands, trying to force him closer.
He chuckles against my flesh, then presses a kiss to my clit.
Bastard is going to draw this out as long as possible.
A frustrated cry leaves me when he pulls away.
A second later, he’s tugging me off the rock and into the water.
I slide down his body, shivering at the sudden chill.
His cock nudges against my folds, and I whimper.
“Need something, nymph?”
“You,” I gasp as his tip slips inside me. “Please, Loch.”
“You can do better than that,” he murmurs, though there’s an edge to his voice. He’s barely holding on. One small move is all it will take for him to lose control.
I grip the back of his neck and rub my body against his. “Please make me come?”
He growls, burying his cock into me. My back arches against the rock, and scales erupt across my skin to protect me. Another whimper leaves me as his fingers dig into my hips. Water ripples around us while he thrusts harder. All I can do is cling to him while my pleasure grows.
I slam my eyes closed and stars erupt behind my lids.
He doesn’t slow, drawing out my climax and folding it into the next one.
He sinks his teeth into my neck, then growls.
The primal sound echoes around us, amplified by the water lapping at our bodies.
When he stops suddenly, I let out a frustrated moan.
He cups my cheek. “I’d spend another lifetime cursed by the gods just to find my way to you again.”
I swallow hard. “I wish I had pretty words to give you. I’d kill a hundred more men?”
He tips his head back and laughs. “As long as we’re together.”
“Are you stalling because you forgot the move?” I raise an eyebrow, and he grins, then slips from between my folds.
He spins me around and presses my chest against the rock. I glance over my shoulder to make another quippy comment when he slams into me once more. I’ve never been more thankful for whatever magic flows through my veins as it cushions my body from the sharp stones.
Loch wraps an arm around my waist and his hand finds my clit.
Ecstasy sparks within me, and I gasp as he rolls his hips with each thrust. Too soon I’m sailing over the edge once more.
Seconds later, he’s groaning my name. I wish we could stay like this forever.
Maybe we can. Maybe the gods will show mercy and forget we exist.
His hand grips my throat and eases us back until I’m floating on top of him, still linked together. My two tails merge into one again and my scales practically fuse us together.
We stare at the ever-darkening sky, whispering words of passion, devotion, and adoration. Whatever the future has in store for us, I don’t care, as long as I’m with him.
