Chapter 5 #2
I drove home with one of her hands in mine. I found myself kissing her knuckles at damn near every red light.
I was fucking obsessed with this woman.
As soon as I got her to my place, I threw her bags in my bedroom and pulled her along to my bathroom so she could join me in the shower.
We barely made it three minutes before I was plucking her off her feet, she was wrapping her arms around me and I was sliding right into her. Our mouths met and I swallowed her little whimpers while I worked her up and down on my dick until she came in a little burst. Her legs shook around me.
I used the shower to help hold her up and angled her slightly to make sure my pelvis was stimulating her clit every time I was buried all the way inside of her. I long stroked her while her nails dug into the top of my back. I licked up the side of her throat then bit her lightly.
“I missed you so much all day,” I admitted.
“I missed you so much,” she repeated. “I always miss you.”
“Yeah?” I rubbed my forehead along the side of her head.
“Mhmm.”
I stood up straight and started to bounce her on my dick, lifting her until the tip was barely inside of her and dropping her back down over and over again.
“I want you here all the time,” I confessed. “Tell me you’re going to be here everyday when I get off.”
“Everyday?”
“Everyday,” I repeated.
Novi nodded, grabbed my face in both hands and slammed her mouth against mine. She immediately slid her tongue into my mouth and along mine.
I stopped moving. She linked her fingers together behind my neck and started to ride me. I let my hand sit on her ass, just feeling her soft skin while she tightened her legs around me and did her best to move up and down on my dick while suspended.
I let her chase her own orgasm and when she hit and came I groaned. Her walls tightened around my dick and I immediately lifted her a little and helped her grind on my dick while she rode out her wave.
I helped her down slowly once she stopped shaking, turned her around, pressed her against the shower wall and slid back into her.
I gripped her hip with one hand and the front of her throat with the other.
I leaned down and caught her mouth with mine so I could kiss her while I slammed into her, enjoying the way her ass bounced off my hips with each thrust.
One of Novi’s arms went to my thigh and the other went to the back of my neck.
“Fuck, baby.” I groaned against her mouth and my eyes damn near rolled into the back of my head as J came.
I peppered kisses all along her face while we came down.
We showered side by side then climbed in bed together naked. I grinned while she slipped into my side and my hand automatically went to the back of her head so I could massage her scalp until she fell asleep.
Sleep didn’t take me in the same way it took Novi. I spent more time staring at her and tracing her soft skin than I did sleeping but eventually I got a few hours in.
When I woke up it was with the sun rising. I checked in on Novi, snatched my phone off the night stand and texted JV that I wasn’t coming in. I kissed Novi softly, tucked her head beneath mine and went back to sleep.
The second time I woke up it was to the sound of someone rummaging in my kitchen. I hopped up immediately, alert and ready to blow somebody’s head off. I grabbed my gun and cast a quick look at Novi before slipping out.
I checked the corner and whipped around it with my finger on the trigger.
“Damn, Kaleo!” My father yelled and grabbed his chest.
“Nigga, what are you doing creeping around my shit?” I put my safety on my gun and looked around the open floorplan.
“Well I was trying to check on you.”
“Who said I needed to be checked up on?” I scratched my bare chest and yawned as I walked to my kitchen, my father, Charles trailing behind me.
“I saw Rob creeping into the shop late last night. I went back and saw some bullshit was going on when you were in there closing up.”
“Then you saw me get out of there.”
“Yeah. I ain’t see you go into work either though.”
“I’m taking you off my cameras, old man.” I grabbed my coffee pot and started to prep the coffee machine.
“That’s cool. Rob will keep me updated anyway.”
“If you think Rob tells you everything you’re delusional."
“He might not tell me everything about him, but he makes sure he tells me everything about you.”
I scoffed, crossed my arms and leaned back against my counter.
“Yeah, alright.”
“So, be real with me. What did they want? Were they looking for Rob or what?”
“Nah. They were trying to get me to sell.”
“The shop?” My dad’s eyebrows knitted together.
“Yep.”
“And I’m going to assume that you said no considering the response they had.”
“That’s right.”
“And why is that?”
“Why the fuck would I sell the shop after everything you and unc did to open it and keep it afloat all those years?”
“It was a different time.” He sighed. “You’ve made good money in the place and I’m sure the guys would follow you wherever you went. Why don’t you sell it for more than it’s worth and set up shop somewhere else?”
“Hell nah.” I didn’t hesitate. “That shop is our family’s legacy. Your brother died thinking he’d locked that shop down for generations.”
“That shop is a building, Kaleo. You and Rob are my legacy. That’s it.
I don’t give a fuck about that building as much as I care about what it stood for.
The best thing that shop ever did was give me a way to provide for you and Rob.
I’m thankful it’s still standing and that it let you get a start up but you’re good on cash right now and any smart man would tell you to cut ties while you’re set to make some profit. ”
“I learned how to walk in that fucking shop.” I locked eyes with my father. “I cut my first head in that shop. I lost my first tooth in there, broke my first bone in there and had my first kiss right out front. It ain’t just a building. You and unc-”
He cut me off. “Needed cash and used the shop to get it. At the end of the day, your life is worth more than four walls and some memories.”
“Alright.”
“You’re saying alright but why do I feel like what I’m saying is going in one ear and out the other?”
I turned around at the sound of my coffee stopping, grabbed a coffee mug and filled it two thirds of the way.
“Look, I appreciate you caring and trying to drop some wisdom on me, but are you lecturing your other son? That nigga stay in some bullshit but yet you’re in my spot acting like I need to be talked off the fucking ledge.”
I almost regretted the statement after it left my lips but I couldn’t take it back and honestly, I’d meant it. There was a pressure our father put on me that he didn’t put on Rob even though I knew they were close and he loved him just as much.
I averted my eyes. My father exhaled.
“I talk to Rob frequently about what he should and shouldn’t be doing and pray for him just as much but there’s only so much I can do for him as a grown man.”
I exhaled. “I’m not going to lie to you. I respect you too much for that. Don’t ask me to.”
“Alright. Then, look me in my eyes and tell me that you have a plan.”
“I don’t.”
“Well, don’t you think you should-”
He paused and we both looking at the entryway at the sound of Novi’s feet smacking against the floor. She entered the area wiping at one of her eyes and yawning. Her eyes bulged and she took a step back.
“Nah.” I smiled. “Come here.” I held out toward her. She blinked at me. She looked from me to my dad and back. “Come here,” I repeated.
She plastered a small smile on her face and slowly walked over to me. I grabbed her hand when she was close enough, pulled her into my side and kissed the top of her head.
“This is my pops, Charles. Dad, this is November.”
“Novemeber, huh?” His eyes searched mine. I smiled. “Nice to meet you, November.” He offered her a hand.
“It’s nice to meet you too.” She shook his hand. “You can uhm, call me Novi if you want,” she added as an afterthought.
“Novi,” he repeated and nodded. “Got it.”
She mirrored him and nodded as well. I offered her my coffee mug. She took a little sip, made a face and set it on the counter.
“I’ll get you some sugar and cream,” I offered. “Pops, you want some coffee too?”
“Nah. I’m good. I’m actually going to go and let you enjoy the rest of your off day.”
“You sure?”
“I’m sure, but just know we aren’t done talking about this.”
“I figured we weren’t.”
He gave me a small smile then closed the space between us. My dad gave me a quick hug and hit me on the back.
“I love you. Be careful.”
“I love you too.”
“Nice meeting you, Novi.”
“Nice meeting you too, sir.”
My dad exhaled. “I let myself in. I can let myself out. Have a good one.”
“Will do.”
I watched him as he made his way to the door and listened carefully until I heard the click of him locking my door back.
I didn’t bring him up to Novi. I just spun around and started to add cream and sugar to her coffee. She accepted it when I offered it to her. I watched her take a slow sip. She nodded.
“It’s good.”
“Good.” I smiled.
“Your dad seems nice,” she said after a beat.
“Yeah. He’s good people.”
“I’m sorry if you felt pressured to introduce us. I didn’t know he was here when I wandered out.”
“You’re good. I’m glad you guys met.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.” I tapped her lightly on the ass. “What do you want for breakfast?”
“Are you making it?”
“Is that a problem?” I teased. “You made my breakfast so I figured I could return the favor.”
“Then, surprise me.”
“Sounds good.”
I walked over to the fridge and threw it open.
I did my best to focus on Novi and be present instead of thinking about the brief conversation I’d had with my dad.
I knew he loved me and I understood what he was saying, but Rob wasn’t his only son who didn’t let the dumb shit slide.
Somebody had come into my place of business and tried to hoe me.
As much as I was his son, I was Rob’s brother too and I was about to show them niggas that it wasn’t just one half of the bloodline that stood on shit when it came down to it.
