Chapter 13
Thirteen
Tremaine
I t had been two days since I last saw Mila, and I was feening for her.
After Mila showed me what she was working with, we went two more rounds before KJ started calling, asking to come home.
I wasn't ready to leave just yet. I did all I could to plead with her to let me go get him and bring him back.
I was doing all I could to spend the night there, but Mila was stern in her words.
She didn't want KJ to be confused. However, there was no confusion.
Mila Cruz belonged to me now, whether she or KJ knew it or not.
I had been with many women in my day, but no one had made me feel like Mila did.
She was breathtaking in everything that she did.
Whether it was her walking around Justine's waiting tables, sitting at the desk in the office, or riding my dick, Mila had won me over, and I was simping.
I didn't bother texting her because I wanted to give her space after our night.
I wanted to give her time to think and sit on what all happened.
I even made an exception and decided not to go into the office yesterday, giving her more time.
Mila just experienced a divorce, and I know jumping into something new with someone else could be overwhelming, but time was up, and I wasn't taking anything other than that. Mila was mine now and no one else's.
I walked into the office, and things were quiet. I knew Susanna wouldn't be there because she had an early-morning showing, which meant Mila was in the office alone. I didn't waste time. I darted directly to her desk. I knew she knew I was there, yet her eyes were trained on the computer.
"Good morning, Mr. Houston," she greeted me, still looking at the screen. Her nervousness was evident on her face and in her body language.
"Mr. Houston now? Just the other day, I was Trey."
"I have a job to do, Mr. Houston. I remain professional while on the clock."
I laughed and made my way around to her. I pulled her out of her seat, bringing her body close to mine. I inhaled her scent. She smelled sweet. I wanted to throw her across her desk and have a repeat of the other night.
"You know this is my business, right?" I reminded her, whispering in her ear.
She nodded her head.
"Then I can do this."
I pulled Mila's face closer and took her lips into mine.
I wasted no time getting familiar with her taste.
I moaned harder as I tongued her with so much passion.
When I finally pulled away from her, she almost lost her balance.
I grinned, looking at the effect I had on her.
She wiped at the corners of her mouth, unlike me.
I didn't mind having her lip gloss on my lips.
"You good?" I asked with a cheeky grin.
She sucked her teeth. "Mr. Ho... Trey, what if a client had walked in? Hell, what if Susanna had caught us?"
I shrugged. "I don't care. It's not like they can fire me or report me. Plus, there isn't a rule in my employee handbook that says employees can't fornicate."
Mila tried to muffle her laugh, but she couldn't. She laid her hands on my chest and stared into my eyes.
"Trey, what are we doing? This is a lot. I've just gone through a divorce and am battling a shitty custody battle, all while trying to figure out who I am in all of that. I don't think I can jump into a full-blown relationship like that."
I kissed her hands and looked back at her. "I'm not asking you to jump into a full-blown relationship. What I am asking is that I get to know you more outside of all the shit you're dealing with. For me to do that, it requires more of your time and my time."
"Trey—"
"I'm not rushing you, Mila. Shit, take all the time you need, but what I am asking is to get to know you more outside of this workplace shit, like spending time together." I slid my hand up her exposed thigh in her short dress. "In many, many ways."
She took a deep breath. She didn't answer me right away, but I continued to rub along her thigh.
"We can take things slow. No titles, just us enjoying each other's company," she insisted in a whisper.
I inched my way up her leg, rubbing my fingers against her thin panty material.
"Slow is how I like to do things." I pulled at the material of her panties.
"Trey, what are you doing? Someone might walk in!"
I grabbed her hand and pulled her from behind the desk.
I walked toward the front door and locked it, pulling her along the way until we made it to my office.
I closed the door behind us and locked it.
I continued to pull her behind me until I was seated in my chair, finally pulling her on top of me, hiking up her dress.
I rubbed along her fully exposed ass cheeks, smacking both, then rubbing them afterward.
"You're so beautiful, Mila. I've been missing you. Every time I saw, smelled, or tasted something sweet, I couldn't help but think about you."
She smirked. "You know I've got work to do, right? And so do you."
"That shit can wait. I've got other shit I need to work on."
I briefly lifted her off my lap, rolled down her panties, and then removed myself from my pants. My manhood stood at full attention.
"Somebody is happy to see me," she purred, winking.
"He is, and he can't wait to feel you either."
I quickly pulled her back down, lining her up right where I wanted her. Stars appeared everywhere as soon as I felt her warm wetness.
"Make it quick, Trey," she moaned as she rode me slowly.
What she didn't know was that the way she made me feel, I was going to be quick.
After our quick rendezvous, I finally let Mila go on about her business.
She made me promise to keep my distance from her until we both got work done, including lunch.
Now I had finished my work to my liking, and I was missing her.
It was five o'clock, and in my opinion, it was quitting time, and I wanted to spend the rest of my evening with her.
I shut down my computer and grabbed my stuff.
When I walked out of my office, Mila was sitting at her desk typing an email.
"Wrap it up, Mila," I instructed, startling her.
Her hand flew to her chest. "Trey, you scared me. Let me wrap up this email and call my Uber?—"
"Mila, don't annoy me. From now on, you're leaving and going with me. If I'm out of the office, I'll leave one of my cars for you. There ain't no more of this Uber shit. Plus, what kind of man would I be if I let you keep paying for Ubers? Now come on."
"Trey, I have to pick up KJ."
I shrugged. "That's even better because I was going to grab dinner alone, so now I have company." I winked.
Mila tried to hide her blushing by hiding her face and looking the other way but failed. She continued packing up her stuff while I waited at the door for her. She walked over with her bag in hand. I reached for and placed it on my shoulder.
"Go ahead out, and I'm going to lock up."
Minutes later, Mila and I were on the way to pick up KJ. We vibed to the music as we rode down the streets. My hand stayed on her thigh, tapping to the beat of the music.
"Don't get me wrong, this Hellcat is nice, but I love your SUV. It's so sleek. It's the perfect car for a mom."
"What kind of car did you have?" I asked.
She rolled her eyes. "A damn van." She laughed. "Kyle said that as a mother, I should drive a car that could fit all of us. So, he brought me a van."
"A van?"
She shrugged. "At least you could open the door with the press of a button."
I shook my head. "That nigga is the worst. He could've gotten you a nice SUV, like this. Shit, he's a doctor, ain't he? He could've afforded the SUV you wanted."
"He might be a doctor, but he was old-fashioned as fuck, including being a man who believed in having two families."
I could tell Mila's mood shifted, but I grabbed her hand.
"Stop letting him control you. Don't let a man have that much control over you. It gives him the satisfaction of winning."
"You're right. I just can't wait for this shit to be over with."
"How is the lawyer search going?" I asked.
"Oh yeah, I randomly had a family lawyer reach out to me. I have a meeting with him next week. Trina somehow came across his information. He's looking to do the case pro bono. I'm nervous, but only because what if he sucks?"
I shook my head. "Don't go in there thinking that. Plus, if he does, you'll just find another lawyer."
She nodded and smiled. "Thanks for being so encouraging."
I reached for her hand and placed a kiss on it. "No problem, beautiful."
We continue riding to pick up KJ in silence.
I said nothing, but I had reached out to Owen, asking him for recommendations on lawyers to help Mila out.
I even offered to take on the bill, but Owen mentioned to Trina my plan to foot the bill for the lawyer, and he and Trina took on the bill instead.
Trina didn't want to tell Mila because she knew Mila would protest, so we came up with the story of the pro bono.
This lawyer was the best of the best in family court, so I knew he would be successful with Mila's cause.
Ten minutes later, we arrived to pick up KJ. The kids were in the yard running around while an older lady sat on the porch watching them with a smile.
"That's Chasity's mom," Mila shared. "Give me one second. Let me get him."
I nodded and watched as she got out of the car, waving at Chasity's mom.
Mila moved with grace as she went and hugged KJ.
She even made it her business to hug Chasity's mom.
I watched the interaction between the women, and Chasity's mom looked in my direction.
She threw her hand up, so I let down the window and returned the wave.
"How you doing, ma'am?"
"Good and yourself?" she asked loud enough for me to hear.
"I'm doing well! Can't complain."
I smiled at her, and she smiled back. I rolled the window up, but not before I heard her say to Mila how fine I was. A few minutes passed, and KJ walked toward the car with his bag. His smile grew bigger when he saw me getting out of the car.
"What's up, KJ?" I said.
"Mr. Houston! What's up!" He ran over toward me and extended his fist to dap me up. "Is this your car?" he excitedly asked.
"Yep! You like it?"
He nodded. "Does it go super-fast?"
I grinned. "It does, but before you ask, no, I will not go fast because your mama would kill me if I sped with you in the car."
"Aw, man," he pouted, folding his arms.
"But let's make a promise. When you turn eighteen, you can get the car and go fast."
He smiled big. "Will you still know me when I turn eighteen?"
I looked over at Mila, who was slowly making her way down the stairs but still talking to Chasity's mom.
She quickly glanced at me and smiled, then turned her attention back to Chasity's mom.
I thought about my life with Mila and how, since she came into it, all I wanted to do was protect her and save her from any type of trouble.
I looked at KJ and smiled. "That's the plan, my friend. Now, make sure you put your seatbelt on when you get in."
"Yes, sir!"
KJ waved goodbye to everyone and climbed in. Seconds later, Mila returned, and I ran around to beat her to the door to open it for her. Once I made it back to the driver's side, we were on our way.
"KJ, are you cool with pizza tonight?" she asked him.
He nodded. "Yes, ma'am. Cheese, please!"
She pulled out her phone to order when I stopped her.
"My treat. Plus, I know the owner of the pizza shop, so he will give us the hookup on it."
"You're sure?"
I was more than sure. Besides my business, I had never been sure about anything until I met Mila. I was sure she was the woman I wanted to be with.
"Positive. We can get it ordered and delivered to the house. That way, you can get him ready and prepared for bed."
She smiled. "Thanks, Trey, I appreciate that."
"Anything for you... and KJ."
