Chapter 33
CHAPTER 33
T he door had barely shut when Thorn sped across the room and into his arms.
“I missed you so much,” she murmured, nuzzling against the warmth of his neck. Her pulse was racing, in tune with her heart.
“Same,” Damian replied in a throaty growl that sent shivers down her spine. “It’s been a long fucking three weeks.”
The hunger in his voice matched her own, the time apart having only stoked the fire that burned between them.
His hands dropped to her hips, gripping her firmly as he lifted her off the ground. She wrapped her legs around his waist, clinging to him like a lifeline as he carried her down the hall to the bedroom.
There was an urgency in their movements, a desperate need to reconnect, to erase the distance that had stretched between them and the fear of the last few hours.
As they reached the bed, however, something shifted. The raw intensity that had driven them so often before gave way to something softer, more tender.
She felt it as he undressed her, removing her shirt slowly, his fingers lingering over the fabric. There was no rush, no desperate frenzy. They had time now.
He undid her buttons one by one, savoring the moment. Next, he peeled off her jeans. When he was done, she was wet and writhing with longing. Only he could make her melt by just looking at her.
She reached for him, needing to feel his skin against hers, to remind herself that this was really happening, that Damian was here, with her.
His shirt came off, and her hands roamed over his chest, feeling the solid muscle beneath her palms. She explored the familiar yet somehow new terrain of his body.
She heard him suck in a breath as she traced the lines of his torso her touch light, reverent.
“Fuck, Thorn,” he hissed, his gaze deepening with desire. “I love you too.”
She grinned. “I hope so. I was beginning to wonder. I mean, I know we’re married and all, but?—”
With a growl, he flipped her over and pinned her down on the bed beneath him. She squealed, but he held her firm, and whispered in her ear. “Do you want me to show you how much?”
She nodded, her body weak with longing. She needn’t have worried, their attraction hadn’t died, it was still there, burning brighter than before.
“I can’t hear you.” He was taunting her, and she fucking loved it.
“Yes,” she pleaded, as he slid her panties off. There was the sound of a zipper coming down and she squirmed, knowing what was coming.
“Yes, what?”
“Yes, please.” Her breath was coming in short gasps. She was so completely aroused she couldn’t lie still. Tiny shudders of delicious anticipation left her quaking. This was her man, and he was about to claim her in the most primitive way possible.
When he mounted her, her whole world turned upside down. She heard him inhale roughly, and then he was inside her. She was so soaked, he slid in easily, stretching her to accommodate his size.
She was in heaven. Floating in glorious ecstasy. He filled her to capacity, and she didn’t know it was possible to feel such a rush of emotions all at once.
Need. Desire. Love.
It all tumbled from her lips in one soft moan. She thought her heart had just burst with happiness.
His rhythm was smooth, hypnotic, and before long she was flying higher and higher, crying out his name with each delicious thrust. She heard him groan as his hips slammed against her ass, driving as deep into her as he could.
With each stroke he sent her stratospheric, until she couldn’t bear it anymore.
“Oh, God,” she sobbed, as with one last surge she felt him unleash inside her. The heat sent her careening into space, and she heard herself screaming out with pleasure.
Afterwards, he collapsed on top of her, and she could feel his heart thumping through her back. His hands snaked underneath her and he held her tightly, warm in his embrace, until their pulses had returned to normal.
They lay there together, wrapped in each other’s arms, letting the quiet of the night settle around them. For the first time in a long time, everything felt right. Everything felt complete.
And as Thorn drifted off to sleep, her head resting against Damian’s chest, she knew that whatever challenges lay ahead, they’d face them together—stronger, closer, and more in love than ever before.
