Seduction - Chapter 6
Friday
I grabbed James’ hand. If a parrot restaurant was this scary to me, maybe I should skip the Caldwell Halloween party. Apparently I couldn’t handle scary stuff anymore.
“What is going on?” I said.
“I don’t know,” Rob said. “I only knew about the parrots.”
It was seriously pitch black. I couldn’t see a thing. I held James’ hand tighter.
And then the beat dropped. The dance floor in the back lit up. It was like we’d been transported to a disco. Minus the parrots flapping to the music.
“Ah there’s dancing!” I said. I suddenly wasn’t hungry anymore. I put my burger down. “Who wants to dance?”
James had a mouthful of burger.
“I’m in,” Bee said. She hadn’t touched her food. She was probably worried it was rancid. “Daphne get your butt on the dance floor, us girls need to celebrate!”
Daphne threw her hands in the air. And the three of us maneuvered out of the booth and ran over to the dance floor.
Before I started dancing, I threw my arms around Daphne. “Congratulations!”
Bee put her arms around us too. “You and Rob are perfect together.”
“Stop it, you’re going to make me cry again,” Daphne said and stepped back. “And I want to celebrate.” She started jumping up and down to the beat.
Bee and I joined in. Although I was jumping significantly less than they were. As much as I’d been dying to dance, I wondered if jumping around was good for the baby. I started swaying my hips instead.
It felt so good to be dancing again. Bee and I sandwiched Daphne on the dance floor. I was in front of her and I leaned over. Daphne smacked my butt. I laughed and looked over at our table. James was staring at me. That familiar heat in his eyes. God, he was going to fuck me so hard tonight.
I was still bent over when I pointed to him and crooked my finger. As fun as it was dancing with my girls, I was really wound up. And very much in the mood to grind against him.
I closed my eyes and let the beat guide my hips.
It only took a few seconds before I felt James’ hands around my waist. He pulled me against him, his erection already pressing into my lower back.
I opened my eyes and tilted my head to the side so I could see him behind me.
“You’re driving me crazy.” His voice was barely audible over the music. He grabbed my hips more firmly.
He’d been the one in control at the table. But I had him just where I wanted him now. I dropped low and slowly rose up, sliding my ass against him.
He groaned.
God, I needed him. I’d been desperate for him all night. I looked around for the restroom signs.
But before I could find one, Daphne joined us. “I’m going to be your sister!” she said and threw her arms around James.
James caught her at an awkward angle so she wouldn’t accidentally hit the tent in his pants.
Rob had joined us on the dance floor too. “I’m getting married, big bro!” He threw his arms around James and hugged him too.
I laughed as Rob leaned back, lifting James slightly off the floor. If he wasn’t careful he was going to throw out his back.
I looked over at Bee who was dry humping Mason in the middle of the dance floor.
I laughed and searched the rest of the dance floor for Matt, but he wasn’t there.
I turned back to our table. He was sitting there staring at his food.
It looked like he was lost in thought. I pressed my lips together.
Oh, Matt. I couldn’t imagine what he was thinking.
He was the last of his friends to find his person.
But I was sure she was out there somewhere.
I knew it had been hard on him ever since Rob started dating Daphne.
He was the last single member of our friend group.
Dancing would cheer him up though. Matt was a great dancer. I left the dance floor to go grab him.
“Dance with us,” I said.
He looked up at me. “I’m actually gonna get going.”
“No you’re not. Come dance with us.”
“But I um…I got another thing.”
“Another thing? Your best friend just got engaged. Nothing is as important as this.” I put my hand out for him.
He looked at my hand and then back up at my face. “I really gotta get going.”
Seriously? “Scoot.” I pushed on his arm for him to move over in the booth. I sat down beside him. “What other thing?”
“A work thing.”
Bullshit. It was Friday night. I knew what this was about. “You’re going to find your person, Matt.”
He drew his eyebrows together. “No. I’m not.”
“Of course you will. Did you ever in a million years think I would have found love with James? He was my professor for goodness sakes.”
Matt shrugged.
“And I’m pretty sure that Mason was up to very sinful things when he met Bee. Did you ever think he would settle down?”
Matt pressed his lips together.
“And Rob and Daphne? That is a very unlikely pair. Carefree Rob with a woman who orders food like it’s the biggest decision in the world.”
Matt finally smiled. “She really shouldn’t be allowed into restaurants.”
I laughed. “Come on. Celebrate with us. You’ll find your soulmate soon.”
His smile faltered.
What was going on with him? I slid out of the booth and put my hand out again. “Don’t leave me hanging here, Matt. I don’t have a partner on the dance floor and I need you.” I looked over to where Rob was trying to lift James again. What on earth are they doing?
Matt slid his hand into mine.
I pulled him out of the booth and dragged him to the dance floor. I took a few steps backward and pretended to cast a fishing rod. “You,” I mouthed, like I’d just caught him.
Matt wiggled toward me like he was the fish I caught, and then grabbed me and dipped me.
I laughed as he pulled me back to his chest.
“Feeling better already, aren’t you?”
He shimmied in response.
I smiled. I had no doubt in my mind that Matt would find someone soon. The guy was a total catch. Speaking of catches…I glanced over at James. All our friends were dancing in the middle of the dance floor. I grabbed Matt’s hand and pulled him over to the rest of our friends.
We all surrounded Rob and Daphne in the middle of the dance floor and cheered for them again. They started pausing in their dance in funny poses like they were posing for paparazzi.
“Work it, girl!” Bee yelled and pretended to take a photo.
Which somehow ended in us all taking turns in the middle, posing for fake photos.
I was smiling so hard my cheeks hurt.
James grabbed my hips again, pulling me against him. I reached behind me, grabbing the back of his neck. And I moved my body slow to the music. Torturously slow. I never knew a restaurant filled with creepy parrots could be so erotic, but I swear I was soaked.
“The things I’m going to do to you,” he whispered in my ear.
I moaned and it didn’t even matter because the music was so loud.
I wasn’t sure how long we danced for. But I felt the sweat dripping down the back of my neck. It was just like it was before I was pregnant. Dancing until my whole body was sore. Until I was drenched in sweat. My ass pressed against James’ length.
“I need you,” James said. “Right now.”
“But I never got to congratulate Rob…”
“You can congratulate him later.” He grabbed my hand and pulled me off the dance floor. I thought he would be taking me out of the restaurant and back to our place. Instead, he turned left.
Ah, so that’s where the restrooms have been hiding.
He looked both ways before opening the door to the woman’s restroom. There was no one inside. He locked the door and then pressed me against it.
God, yes please.
I buried my fingers in his hair and pulled his face down to mine. The kiss was dizzying. It was like I was starving and I needed him. He bit my bottom lip and I moaned. His mouth truly was a miracle. His hand slid up my thigh, lifting my leg around his waist.
I don’t know why I opened my eyes. I was caught up in the moment and I wasn’t a weirdo who opened my eyes during a kiss. But it was like I suddenly knew we weren’t alone.
I stared in horror at the mechanical bird perched on the corner of the sink. Staring directly at us with his beady little eyes. It slowly lifted its robotic wings and flapped. I put my hand on James’ chest. “Oh my God, it followed us in here.”
“What?” James turned around to see what I was looking at. “It’s just one of the dumb birds, ignore it.”
“It’s not just one of them. It’s the one. The creepy one with the eyes that follow you.” I moved, peering over James’ other shoulder. The little demon bird was still staring at me.
“It’s fine,” James said as he kissed the side of my neck.
I closed my eyes and tried to ignore the bird. But then it squawked.
“Nope.” I stepped back from James, letting my thigh fall from around his waist. “I can’t. It’s too freaking weird.”
James laughed and looked back at the bird. “Okay, it is a little weird. Wasn’t that the one at the front of the restaurant? How did it get in here?”
“I don’t know. Let’s get the hell out of here.
” I unlocked the door and pulled James back out into the disco Parrot Palace party.
Just as we stepped out, another bird started flapping toward us.
We ducked to avoid its party path, or whatever the heck our waiter had called it.
“Yeah, this was all too freaking weird. “Let’s just go home,” I said.
“You’re right. I can congratulate Rob later. ”
James smiled. “I’m so glad you said that. Ian should be here any second. I already texted him.”
“But…” I glanced back at the bathroom door. “We were just going to bang in there. Why’d you already text him?”
He pulled me in close. “Did you think I was only going to have you once tonight?” His fingers slid down and squeezed my ass. “You know that once is never enough.”
“Come on, before we get arrested.” I reluctantly pulled his hands from my butt and we made a run for it.
We dodged one more beady-eyed beast and pushed out the front doors of the restaurant.
We couldn’t tell from inside, but it was pouring out.
It only took a few seconds before we were both completely drenched.
I laughed and turned to James.
He stepped forward, cradling my face in his hands. “Does this remind you of anything?”
I swallowed hard. “Our first kiss.” I remembered it perfectly. He’d driven me home. And instead of walking me to my door like a gentleman, he’d pressed me against the side of his car and kissed me. Just thinking about it made my heart race.
“It took every ounce of my restraint not to fuck you right there against the hood of my car.”
Jesus. I blinked fast as I stared up at him, trying not to let the rain fall in my eyes. But honestly, I didn’t even care about the rain. I was wearing a bathing suit after all. And I loved the rain. I’d fallen in love with James in a storm.
I stood up on my tiptoes and closed the distance between us.
His hand found my waist, pulling me closer.
I buried my fingers into his wet hair. I’d dreamed of running my fingers through his unruly hair all the time when I was his student. And now I took full advantage of the fact that I could do it whenever I wanted.
The rain started falling even harder. I could feel it dripping from my eyelashes. I could taste it in our kiss.
“Our car is here,” James said.
I didn’t care. I deepened our kiss. And I practically whimpered when his hands fell from my waist. I stared up at him.
He was so soaked that water was dripping from the scruff on his chin.
God he was so fucking sexy. If Ian wasn’t sitting in the car waiting for us, I would have licked the water off of him.
James pulled me over to the car and opened the door.
“Crazy storm,” Ian said.
“Mhm.” Crazy perfect. I’d been planning on seducing James in the bathroom of a tropical restaurant. That hadn’t exactly panned out. But my bathing suit worked for the new plan forming in my head too.
James climbed into the other side and slammed the door.
I slid to the middle seat. He’d teased me in the restaurant, so I was going to tease him all the way home. I looked into the rearview mirror to make sure Ian wasn’t looking, and then reached out for James’ belt. I managed to unbuckle it before James caught my hand.
“It’s five months of seduction both ways, James,” I whispered into his ear.
“Which means I get to seduce you too.” I lightly bit down on his earlobe as I unbuttoned and unzipped his khakis.
“You know how turned on I get when we might get caught. You’re the one that told me that.
You’ve taught me a lot of things about myself.
” I slid my hand under the waistband of his boxers, lightly dancing my fingers down his length.
His breath was labored, like he was trying to control himself.
I knew what he wanted to do. Flip me over and fuck me right here in the car.
I hoped that would happen. Desperately so.
I needed him so deep inside of me that I’d have no choice but to scream his name.
Just not quite yet. After all, Ian could easily see us in the rearview mirror.
And I liked the fear of getting caught, not actually getting caught.
“Penny…”
I wrapped my hand around his thick erection and he stifled a groan.
“Yes, James?” I didn’t wait for a response.
I leaned forward and did what I wanted to do outside.
I licked the side of his jawline, tracing the path of the rainwater.
I kissed the side of his neck. Every inch of his skin was wet from the rain.
But he’d also been sweating from dancing, and it tasted salty on my tongue.
It was the most delicious taste in the world.
He grabbed my hand, stopping me from giving him an amazing hand job. “I’m not going to cum in my pants,” he whispered. “Get over to your side of the car. Now.”
I loved when he used that demanding voice with me. I tried to raise my eyebrow at him, but I wasn’t nearly as good at the stern look as he was.
He reached out, wiping some of the water off my collarbone. Stopping his hand before it dipped between my breasts. “I promise it’ll be worth the wait.”
I bit my lip and slid to my side of the car, re-buckling my seatbelt. But just because I was on the opposite side of the car, it didn’t mean I had to behave. I pushed the skirt of my dress up.
James’ eyes landed on my exposed thighs.
I grabbed the waistband of my bikini bottoms and slowly slid them down my legs. I pulled them off the heel of my sandal and tossed them at him.
He shook his head at me, but he was smiling. He pocketed my bikini bottoms and his eyes landed back on my thighs. The hem of my dress was dangerously close to revealing everything. And the steamy glances he gave me all the way home were almost as satisfying as his touch.
I swear I was panting by the time Ian parked the car in the parking garage under our building. And I hoped James was ready…because I was about to give him the time of his life. It had been a while since the last time we’d fucked in a car.
