GLOSSARY

Corsican is a beautiful language spoken on the island of Corsica (The island belongs to the French but used to belong to the Kingdom of Genoa). It resembles Italian but is not the same. The characters will speak a few words of it throughout the book.

Aziminu: Fish soup

Brocciu: A type of fresh goat cheese

U mo sole: My little sun

Luce di a mu vita: Light of my life

Picculinu: Little one (used for children)

Anghuli: Little angels (plural)

Anghulu: Little angel (singular)

Figliolu: Son

Mammonna: Grandma

Babbone: Grandpa

Babbu: Dad, daddy (from children)

Zitella: Baby girl

French

One character is French and will use a French endearment.

Ma biche: my doe / my little doe, endearment between girlfriends. CANNOT be used as a pet name between a couple ;)
