Chapter Eighteen

Christopher

“So, that went horribly,” I grumbled as I sat back down in my office chair.

The meeting had ended five minutes ago and I’d never seen my pack so distraught before.

Sure, we had a full moon tonight and no way of knowing how it would go down.

Then there was the extra added fear of having a bunch of vampires helping us out, also on a full moon.

Our last full moon had been easier to deal with, simply because the amount of rogues had been fewer.

If I remembered correctly it was only three rogues and I’d dealt with them alone while the rest of the pack did their own thing.

My werewolf had been content watching over the treasure, not once leaving the surroundings.

“It went fine,” Sal said, waving it off.

“I bet it’s the moon that has them worried and not us. Besides, we have more important things to go talk about before tonight,” I reminded him. He nodded, clearly in agreement, so I continued, “Like that winking man, Freddy.”

Benji groaned next to me. “Will you two give it a rest already?! I like Freddy! He’s nice!”

“Nice,” Chris and I exclaimed in unison, both with the same deadpan tone and expression.

“Yes!” Benji snapped. “Now, can we talk about the fact that Chris will soon turn into a half man, half wolf being and I have zero clue on what to do when that happens?”

“You aren’t supposed to do anything,” I replied, giving him a worried glance. Was he scared of me now that he knew I wasn’t just a wolf shifter?

Benji rolled his eyes at me. “Sure, because you going all werewolf isn’t scary at all. What if you run away? Or, I don’t know, start fighting Freddy because he’s nice to me?”

“I won’t run away from my mates,” I assured him, my tone level and calm even if I felt agitated that he saw me as a mindless animal, which I knew I would be, but still.

“And did you notice the part where you didn’t mention hurting Freddy? Because if he’s in danger here, he needs some vacation time.”

I rolled my eyes. “Freddy is pack. We don’t hurt pack.”

“What about the new vampires? They aren’t pack,” he asked.

“They actually are,” Sal replied. “They’re my coven, so technically, we’re sort of pack to the werewolves now that I’m mated to their alpha.”

I loved hearing that Sal was mated to me, even as silly as it sounded, it made me feel cherished and important.

I’d never allowed myself to rely so heavily on another person before, but I knew in my soul that Sal would be that person for me.

My rock. Benji would be the one we protected and cared for, but I needed Sal to be the one keeping me grounded.

I thought Benji might be the one that helped Sal keep his sanity, with his sass and feisty nature, he would keep Sal on his toes and give him the feel of the chase every once in a while.

Meanwhile I would be the one always there for him to dominate and soothe.

It was weird how pack dynamics worked, but I could already tell that was how things would work out between us. We each gave one another what we needed and I loved that for us.

We ended up going through my never-ending to-do list and with a few interruptions throughout the day, still managed to get most of it done so we could focus on the fight tonight.

Because there would be a fight, we just had no idea of how big or long it would be.

Benji and I had eaten a sandwich together during lunch and even though I’d offered Sal some of my blood, he’d declined and told me he’d had plenty yesterday and could go a few days without.

Benji had looked between us, likely at war with himself on whether he should keep fighting us or start relaxing more when it was just the three of us.

Then, just as we were about to leave for dinner, Stacy appeared.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Benji groaned.

He was still seated in front of my desk, jotting down some notes for how we should spread out tonight.

The vampires would be the first line of attack, us werewolves closest to the library building, with Sal, Benji, and me in the middle of those two groups.

Sal was half sitting half leaning against my desk, glaring at Stacy and her daughter as they walked into my office like they owned it.

“Alpha,” Stacy bowed, ignoring Benji and Sal completely. Her daughter Mindy was still staring down at her feet, too afraid to meet my gaze. Or perhaps she was acting like the perfect submissive mate, no matter her reason, I wanted them gone.

“Stacy,” I drawled, already tired of her presence in our space.

The room had smelled wonderful just minutes before, my mates’ scents mixing with mine and creating the perfect mix of everything good and free in life.

Then she had to ruin it with her flower perfume and whatever it was Mindy wore that smelled like fake vanilla and something even my superior nose couldn’t pick out.

“I heard the rumors about you having two male mates,” Stacy laughed, like it was a huge joke.

“So, I figured I’d better help you stomp those nasty rumors before they spread even further.

” She walked further in, still ignoring my mates with Mindy right behind her, head still bowed in submission.

“Can you imagine what the werewolves over in Halmsden would think if they heard the rumors?” She made a tsk sound while shaking her head. “We can’t have that.”

“Stacy,” I growled, finally getting her to shut up for a second.

“Oh, right,” she said, grabbing Mindy and pushing her forward. “Sniff her, she’s perfect for you.”

Benji stood. “Excuse me?! You want him to sniff her?”

Stacy glared at Benji, giving him a once over. “It’s a werewolf thing, human, you wouldn’t get it.”

It was like my human mate transformed before my eyes.

Yes, I’d seen him mad before, but this was something else.

His hip turned slightly to the left, his body taking a sort of defensive stance as his left hand came up in a oh-no-you-didn’t movement.

“Listen, lady, the only people Chris is allowed to sniff around here are Salizar and me, you got that?”

“Chris?!” she gasped. “How dare you refer to him as such! He’s ‘Alpha’ to you!”

“Actually,” I smirked, giving my lovely human the fondest look imaginable. “Benji is allowed to call me whatever he pleases. He is my mate, after all.”

Stacy just stared speechlessly. It was wonderful.

“Yes, hi, I’m also here,” Sal drawled, waving his hand. “No sniffing the rotten vanilla and Piná Colada smelling children.”

That was what she smelled like!

“Of course,” I agreed. “I’ll only sniff my mates, no one else. You can go now Stacy. And if you find yourself bored, please let the rest of the pack know that the rumors are very true.”

Poor Mindy looked like she was about to cry while her mother still gaped at me. I wondered if she needed a demonstration or something before she would believe me.

“For heaven's sake, lady!” Benji snapped. “Leave!”

Stacy finally broke whatever trace she’d been in, dragging a sobbing Mindy out with her.

With them now gone and Sal having opened the window for some fresh air, I could finally bask in the knowledge that Benji obviously felt the bond between us, even if he tried hiding it.

My human was possessive over me and hell if that hadn’t made me feel like I could walk on water.

“I hate it here,” Benji grumbled from where he was smushed between Sal and me. We didn’t want to take any chances with our precious mate and since he was the most fragile of us, he would be protected at all costs.

Sal snorted, but on him a snort was way more dignified somehow.

“You’ll soon find that it’s very pleasurable being between our alpha and me.

” Sal’s purr at the end had me shivering with need.

We truly needed to spend some time alone behind closed doors.

Instead we were out here, guarding the library.

The pack stood around the library and the newly arrived vampires had scattered across the back of the playground.

We stood in the middle of the burned down playground, the one place we had that was for kids alone, now ruined and blackened.

I couldn’t fault Benji for making it go boom, he had to protect himself and Freddy, even if I was just a few steps behind.

He hadn’t known that, of course, so he acted and saved them both from harm.

I would pay for a new playground once this whole mess was dealt with.

For now the story was just that a powerline had combusted underneath and that I had to fix that before doing the renovation.

“As much as I would love to tell you to keep on dreaming, I know you wouldn’t believe me anyway,” Benji sighed, making Sal and I chuckle. He was just too adorable our human, acting like we couldn’t feel his need for us.

A forceful shiver tore through my body and my head instantly flew back as I stared at the moon.

Clouds surrounded her, but then Luna shone brightly down on me, making my entire body tingle in warning.

“It’s happening,” I whispered, now more afraid than ever to shift.

Sal’s hand clasped mine and he gave me a squeeze.

My eyes left Luna and found his. They were red as always but so full of strength right now.

He didn’t have to say anything, I knew he’d protect Benji if something happened.

He would protect all of us. “Thank you,” I mouthed, and then I stepped back from my mates, letting the shift take over as howls filled the air around us.

Everything took on a different hue and I felt the beast in me take the reins.

I blinked through my hazy vision, feeling pushed back in my mind but still as present as I always was, just not in control.

I hated not being in control. Our curse was a curse for a reason, and I was so done with it now that I had mates I needed to keep safe.

My werewolf wholeheartedly agreed, which I was thankful for.

I was taller in this form, more hairy too, and my hair was a tad longer and shaggier.

I had claws on my hands and feet, my teeth were now fangs, I had ears that made me hear so much better than normal, a tail that made me run faster, and most importantly to my werewolf at this very moment, a huge cock, with a knot, of course.

Said cock was now standing proudly as my clothes lay in tatters around me.

Benji and Sal both looked at me with evident hunger, pausing once they reached my cock.

Benji swallowed nervously while Sal bit his lip, his mind calculating.

Instead of facing the incoming enemies that we knew were coming, I all but mauled Sal into the most claiming sort of kiss I could manage.

My need to claim him was so damn potent that I almost felt drunk on it, that was, until my werewolf sniffed Benji’s scent.

Our unclaimed mate. Fuck. I knew what was coming from the images running through my mind.

My werewolf wanted to claim and he wanted it now.

I felt myself getting pushed further back, my werewolf vibrating with the need to show our pack who Benji belonged to.

Mine. Mine. Mine. Delicious human, so frail, so pretty.

Mine. Bite. Claim. Fuck. Knot. Lick. So much lick.

I pounced on Benji, his adorable squeak of surprise so endearing and hot.

My body was on top of his and he looked so small under me, so perfect.

So very mine. With one claw I ran through his shirt, then swiped his pants open, eager to get him naked under me, needing to lick every part of his skin, making him smell only of me and Sal. Mine.

“Holy…” Benji moaned as my tongue licked down his chest toward his belly button.

“I feared this would happen,” Sal muttered, but my werewolf ignored him as we tasted our delicious human. Benji truly was a rare treat and we simply couldn’t get enough of his sweet taste.

There were still too many clothes on him so I tugged the rest of the tattered clothes away, leaving him just in his socks and shoes.

I growled low at the sight, so fucking perfect.

I couldn’t wait any longer, I pushed his legs back, baring his pretty hole for me and growled as I licked his thighs, making him quiver under my touch.

Then I licked over his taint, ignoring his pretty cock as I licked lower, groaning as I reached his rim.

“A-alpha,” Benji panted. “They’ll see us.”

I kept licking and fucking my tongue into his entrance, making it ready for my cock. I had no problem with my packmates seeing me claim Benjamin. No problem with the incoming fight. My werewolf knew Sal would protect us while I took our mate.

I could hear howling and smell the scent of rogue vampires in the distance, I knew the fight had begun but here I was, between my mate’s legs, fucking his hole with my tongue like my life depended on it.

I was leaking precum as I imagined what it would feel like to fuck in this form.

My werewolf had never fucked anyone, had never had the need or want for it.

I usually hunted or ran around the woods when it was a full moon.

This was so much more fun, I had to admit that.

Benji’s fingers tightened in my hair, holding me in place as I licked into him.

Did my little human really think I was about to stop?

He would soon learn we’d only just begun.

I had the whole night as long as we weren’t interrupted.

My mate would feel what it was like to be fully claimed and devoured by a werewolf and I would make sure he loved every second.

I spat on his hole, pulling away as Benji protested sweetly, but he didn’t whine for long. I grabbed his thighs and then thrust my cock into him, making him scream.
