Chapter 17 #2
I popped the locks and she immediately went to jump in, not knowing that this was the worst mistake she probably could have made.
This hoe was reckless and was on go. I was a random nigga and all I had to do was sell her ten minutes of lies to get her to come with me.
I really blame her momma. These women need to teach their daughters the seriousness of trusting strangers.
These niggas out here could be killers, like me.
Just as she sat down in the seat, my young nigga that was hiding in the back, leaned forward and started choking her ass out until she damn near passed out. That’s another lesson, always check the backseat when getting in a stranger car. Don’t sit down and get comfortable.
After tussling with the bitch for a few minutes, we had her in the backseat, zip tied, mouth taped, in just minutes.
My guy handled his business, then casually walked over to his car as if nothing had even happened. He pulled off slow and steady, no rush, no attention drawn to us, and I followed him.
I drove steady while looking at her through my mirror, tied up and laying across the seat.
I saw her chest rise and fall hard behind that tape, her eyes wide and wet, finally understanding what kind of man had just walked up on her outside that shop.
That’s why women need to be more cautious.
Some niggas just don’t have good intentions.
“You gone be fine,” I told her, my voice flat now, all that charm from earlier gone cold. “Long as you tell me exactly where Demontae Sullivan is hiding. You do that, this can go easy for you. You don’t, it won’t.”
We got her to one of our spots on the east side, a trap house that we no longer ran out of and it ain’t have nothing tied back to the Carter name. I pulled that tape off her mouth myself once we got her inside.
She started crying right away, talking fast, telling me she ain’t know nothing, begging me to let her go, saying she just did hair for a living, took care of her son and never caused trouble, and ain’t want no parts of whatever this was.
I let her get it all out. Then I leaned down close enough that she had no choice but to look me dead in my eyes.
“Your man is the leader of Brick Boyz,” I said, slow, letting every word sit.
“He put a hit on my life and that’s not something I can let slide.
The nigga killed people that were close to my family.
So forgive me if I don’t believe you just some innocent hairdresser caught up in a bad situation you had nothing to do with.
I really don’t give a fuck. That nigga gotta pay, or you gone pay for him. ”
She shook her head hard, tears running steady now. When I revealed what had been done to me, her face changed like she may have known who I was or what had been going on.
“I ain’t with Demon like that,” she said, voice cracking. We just co-parenting and I never get in his mix when it comes to shit like this. I know nothing about the streets.” She cried.
“I can find out anything I want to,” I told her, keeping my voice level, no need to raise it.
“You understand that, right? Whatever you think you protecting by keeping your mouth shut, I can undo it anyway. I can find your child just as easy as I found you. And if you don’t start talking, I promise you, you won’t ever see that little boy again. ”
That’s when she really started shaking, her whole body trembling, tears running steady down her face now.
“He moved,” she said, voice breaking apart with every word. “He put me up in an Airbnb a couple weeks back. I don’t know where he’s at, I swear to God. He won’t tell me nothing about where he lay his head no more. But…” She stopped herself, hesitating.
“But what?” I said, leaning in closer. This bitch better had got to talking if she wanted to keep breathing.
“He’s been having my little sister get close to one of his enemies,” she said.
“I didn’t want no parts of it, but he don’t listen when I try to talk him out of stuff.
And with everything you’re saying right now, about a hit, about your family…
I think it might be y’all. I think it’s y’all he’s got her wrapped up in.
I told her not to get into his bullshit but that nigga is crazy and anybody who knows him, knows that you can’t tell him no. ”
Something in my chest went still and sharp at the same time.
“Tell me who your sister is,” I said. “And tell me exactly what your baby daddy told her to do.”
She wiped at her face, sniffling hard, looking at me like she already knew this was gonna cost her something no matter what she said next.
“Her name is Mallory,” she said. “He’s making her pretend to be pregnant so he can get the drop on a nigga named Kaseem. He said he don’t just want that man dead. He wants everything that family got first. All of it.”
My mind went back to what my brother said after breakfast about having a baby on the way and all that other shit. This bitch was playing him the whole time trying to set the nigga up. I’m glad Tatti been beating her ass, but now that bitch had to die! I couldn’t wait to tell my brother this shit.
Tomorrow I had my first drop since being home. After that, I was gonna bring Kaseem here and let him see and hear this shit for himself. For tonight, I was gone keep this hoe tied up in this abandoned house. Make her people worry about her whereabouts for a minute, then it was time to strike.
This nigga thought he could outsmart us? He wasn’t built like that. I was gone make him watch me kill his bitch, before I put something hot in his chest.
As much as I ain’t want to, I called Mars.
That nigga was about to help my young nigga with shifts on watching this bitch tonight.
Tomorrow morning he’d be relieved so that we could do our drop but tonight I needed someone else that I trusted to be here.
I made sure to tell that nigga Mars that this was one thing that he couldn’t tell my brother.
I needed to be the one to tell him. This wasn’t just about Demon’s baby momma.
This was about a bitch playing with Kaseem and trying to take him fast, like he was the right nigga to try and set up.
What a way to welcome a nigga back home. I got dropped off straight into a war zone. But I lived for this shit. And the difference between me and my brothers were, this was my main focus. I wouldn’t sleep, eat, or blink around this bitch until niggas were dead.
