Chapter Eleven- Buddha #4

“Aye, since you’re not about to tell me which hand you used. I’m gonna assume it was your right hand. Lorenzo, take the zip ties off his wrist and then put his hand flat on the ground,” I instructed, moving the mallet from off my shoulder as I took a step closer.

“Please, man, I’ll leave it alone and accept whatever was done to my brother. Please…” Jeremy began to legit cry like a big, man-baby, as Lorenzo took the zip-ties off his wrist.

“Hold his hand down, cause he’s not about to do it,” I said to Lorenzo, who grabbed Jeremy’s right hand, holding it down on the floor.

“Look at me,” I instructed him. With teary eyes and snot running from his nose, Jeremy looked at me.

“None of this would be happening, if you’d simply left well enough alone.

Your brother was a snake that got dealt with.

You wanted to beef with somebody, then you beef with me.

Do not bring the one person that I care about more than anything in this world into this bull-shit,” I explained in great detail as he sobbed softly.

“I’m sorr-aaahhhhhh!” He didn’t complete his sentence. I slammed the mallet down on his hand, cracking his bones. Jeremy knocked the fuck out, his eyes rolled to the back of his head, and his head dropped forward.

“Jesus, wake his stupid ass up, Lorenzo,” I said, pointing the mallet at Jeremy. As I stood waiting for Lorenzo to revive him, I turned my attention to the sleeping pigs. They were all huddled together as they slept.

“Oh fuck, please, please,” Jeremy begged when he woke up. Looking down at his mangled right hand. He tried to lift it, but it just flopped around like a dead fish.

“Aye, pay attention. I’m about to tell you where your brother is,” I pointed the mallet at Jeremy as I spoke. He looked right at me when I said that, waiting to see where his brother could be found.

“He’s right here in this pig pen with us,” I told him, but my reply was met with nothing but confusion. Jeremy looked around the pig pen, but of course, he saw no signs of his brother.

“I don’t understand where he is? Jeremy asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

“He’s right there,” I pointed at the sleeping pigs and then smiled at Jeremy. I could see the confusion on his face as he stared at the pigs. I walked over, dropped the mallet, and picked up the electric chainsaw. I probably looked like Leatherface from the movie Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

“What do the pigs have to do with Jamieson?”

“Do you know anything about pigs?” I asked. I always gave this speech when I brought anyone in here. Lifting the saw, I casually rested it on my shoulder. Jeremy took one look at that mothafucka on my shoulder and fresh tears sprang to his eyes.

“Well, do you?” I asked again, and he shook his head, letting me know he didn’t know anything.

“Well, you see, pigs eat anything, even humans. They’re filthy mothafuckas. So your brother is in each and every one of those fat bastards. But then again, to be fair, they probably shitted him out by now.”

Realizing what I was confessing to him, Jeremy’s entire body tilted to the left, and he began crying uncontrollably as he lay on the ground.

“You fed my brother to pigs!” he wailed loudly as he held on to his injured hand, blood still running from his mouth.

“Now do you understand why I was avoiding telling you about your brother? However, you kept pushing and pushing, and then you did the stupidest thing by getting my wife involved,” I started up the chainsaw, and Jeremy continued crying.

He knew what was coming; he knew he was about to be reunited with his brother.

I looked at Lorenzo and gave him the signal; he nodded.

Jeremy didn’t see it coming; he went peacefully.

Lorenzo bent, grabbed his head, twisted it quickly, and snapped his neck.

I looked down at the dead man and shook my head.

Sometimes it doesn’t pay to be nosey; if Jeremy had just minded his business, he would still be alive.

“The things you do for your wife,” I said, handing the chainsaw to Lorenzo, who began laughing. I removed the gloves from my hands, dropping them to the ground. I took out a packet of cigarettes and lit one up, inhaling deeply.

“The things you do for your wife, my friend,” Lorenzo repeated before he bent with the chainsaw and began sawing off Jeremy’s right arm. I exhaled softly, looking over at the sleeping pigs. It was time to wake these fat mothafuckas up for a late-night snack.

It was well after midnight when I climbed into bed next to Dior. I had a shower, got rid of the fisherman’s overalls I was wearing, and fed the pigs. I pulled Dior against me and kissed her shoulder, my hand wrapped protectively around her midsection.

“Oh, you’re home. Did you deal with all the backlog paperwork at the pizzeria?” She asked about the lie I told her about why I’d be home late.

“Yeah, I did. Everything is all taken care of; there will be no more issues.”

“Ok, good.”

“I love you,” I said, kissing the back of her neck as I closed my eyes.

“I love you too.”

The next people on my list were Francesco and Luca. I was especially looking forward to dealing with Luca.
