Chapter 15 Renza Mensah #2

I cut the engine and sat there for half a second, lookin’ up at her place with the lights glowin’ soft behind the curtains, already knowin’ she was finna answer the door with that look on her face like I done got on her nerves just by existin’.

That thought alone had me amused, ‘cause if Reni ain’t slightly irritated, then somethin’ was off.

Soon as I knocked, the door swung open and there she was.

Baby had on a tank top with her bare legs out, her hair laid but effortless and those green eyes sharp as hell like she had already rehearsed the look she was gon’ give me.

She looked good without even tryin’, which was dangerous ‘cause it made a nigga forget what time it was and why she probably had an attitude in the first place. I ain’t even say nothin’ at first. I just leaned in and wrapped my arms around her like that was my right, pullin’ her into my chest and breathin’ her in like I had been missin’ somethin’ all damn day.

She tried to stiffen up, but that shit ain’t last long.

“Renza,” she said, drawin’ my name out like a warnin’.

I laughed low in my chest and went to kiss her, and sure enough she lifted her hand and pressed her palm to my mouth like she was stoppin’ traffic. Any other nigga might’ve backed up or got offended, but I just kissed her hand. Then all over her palm like that shit was made for my lips.

I kissed her fingers, the inside of her wrist, and the side of her hand, just to be petty. I felt her sigh before she even said anything, and that told me everything I needed to know.

“You childish,” she muttered.

“Only with you” I said against her skin, still kissin’ her hand like I ain’t have a care in the world.

Her hand dropped eventually, and she melted right into me like I knew she would, her arms slidin’ around my waist while I tightened my grip on her back and held her close.

That attitude didn’t disappear, but it softened, which was a win in my book.

I kissed all over her face then, her cheek, her jaw, down her neck, lettin’ my mouth linger there ‘cause I knew it drove her crazy, and when I finally lifted my head and found her lips, I kissed her slow.

While I was at it, my hand slid down and grabbed a full handful of ass, squeezin’ it like I been missin’ it all day, then smackin’ it once just to hear the sound and feel her jump.

“Stop playin’ with me,” I whispered in her ear, my voice low and amused.

She pulled back just enough to look at me, that spark in her eyes lettin’ me know she wasn’t no punk. “Don’t play with me,” she shot back, her brows lifted like she meant that shit.

I smiled, ‘cause that was my favorite version of her.

“Baby,” I said, smooth and calm, “I’ll play about my mama before I play about you.”

She rolled her eyes so hard I thought they might get stuck, but that smile crept out anyway, the one she tried to hide when she wasn’t tryna let me know I said the right thing. I kissed her again real quick, then stepped inside and closed the door behind us.

My girl’s place was fire.. Everything was clean and soft but expensive with rose gold accents everywhere, silver fixtures catchin’ the light and white furniture lookin’ untouched like she didn’t let just anybody sit wherever.

The whole spot felt feminine without bein’ fragile, but powerful without bein’ loud, and it fit her perfectly.

“You got this shit smellin’ like a magazine, girl.”

She walked ahead of me, her wide hips swayin’ like she knew I was watchin’. “You always got somethin’ to say.”

I paused and sniffed the air exaggerated as hell.

She stopped and turned around. “What the hell is wrong with you?”

I sniffed again, real dramatic, then shook my head. “I don’t smell no food.”

Her eyes narrowed. “Renza…”

“Girl the only meal I smell in here is yo’ ass,” I finished, grinnin’ wide. “And that ain’t holdin’ my stomach over for too long.”

She laughed and walked over, pushin’ my chest lightly. “I didn’t think you was comin’ for real. You know you like to stand me up.”

“Showin’ up late don’t mean I stood you up,” I said, honest but playful. “It just mean I got here when I got here.”

She studied my face for a second like she was decidin’ if she was gon’ accept that or keep her lil’ attitude alive. “You be sayin’ that shit a lot.”

“And I be showin’ up a lot,” I shot back.

That got another eye roll, but she turned toward the bedroom anyway, tellin’ me to give her a minute to get dressed. Of course I followed her, ‘cause where else was I gon’ be?

She moved around the room pullin’ clothes together while I leaned against the doorframe, watchin’ her like a man starvin’ in front of a buffet. I licked my lips without even realizin’ it and shook my head.

“I don’t know if I’m hungry for real food or you,” I said.

“Don’t start nothin’ you can’t finish,” she said, slow and smooth. “Be careful what you ask for before I make you forget you even wanted food,” she said, reachin’ for a fitted crop top and a pair of high-waisted jeans that hugged her just right.

“Shid… say less.”

I pushed off the doorframe and walked up behind her slow, lettin’ my presence hit her before my hands did.

The second I touched her waist, her whole body shifted back into me like her balance changed without her permission.

I leaned in and put my mouth on her neck, draggin’ my lips across her skin in a long, deep kiss that made her shoulders drop. I ate that spot up.

I kissed her again, lower this time, then sucked at her pulse until I felt her legs soften. Her breath got heavier, her chest risin’ like she needed air, and I smiled against her neck ‘cause that’s exactly what I wanted.

“I’on even know why you playin’ with me, girl,” I whispered, lettin’ my lips trail up to her ear before I sucked her there too.

Her hand lifted like she wanted to push me off, but it never landed.

Her fingers just hovered, then slowly curled into my arm like she needed somethin’ to hold onto.

“Renza…” she whispered, and her voice was already different, softer and shaky, like I had pulled somethin’ loose in her that she couldn’t tuck back in.

I slid my hand down her stomach, grippin’ that muthafucka tight, then moved down her hip and pulled her tighter against me, kissin’ up her neck again, deeper and slower, until she leaned all the way into me.

Her head tilted to the side without her thinkin’ about it, givin’ me access to every inch I wanted.

“That’s what I thought,” I said against her skin, my voice low and amused. “All that talk just to melt as soon as I put my mouth on you.”

Her knees dipped and she grabbed the dresser for balance, but I ain’t let up. I sucked at her neck again, then licked the spot we both liked, movin’ my tongue across her skin like I planned to keep goin’ until she begged me to stop.

She wasn’t breathin’ right no more. She was tryna keep it together, but her body was givin’ her up piece by piece.

“You still wanna tell me what I can and can’t finish?” I whispered, kissin’ down toward her shoulder, lettin’ my teeth graze her gently.

She swallowed hard and tried to walk off, but her legs ain’t cooperate fast enough. She had to steady herself before she found her voice again.

“Okay,” she said, breathin’ deep like she needed to reset. “Let’s go get somethin’ to eat.”

I leaned back just enough to look at her, smirkin’ slow ‘cause we both knew I won that round without even tryin’.

She rolled her eyes, but her smile slipped through anyway as she reached for her bag.

I stepped back, lettin’ her walk past me, but my eyes stayed glued to her.

She locked up behind us, and we walked to the whip side by side, her fingers laced with mine. I opened the door for her, helpin’ her in like the true gentleman I was.

As I drove, I glanced over at her, noticin’ the way the streetlights hit her face and made them green eyes pop.

She ain’t ask where we was goin’, and I ain’t have to ask her what she wanted, ‘cause I already knew. I been watchin’ this woman long enough to learn her habits, and her cravings.

I just took the turn I always take when I want my baby fed and relaxed, headin’ straight to the spot she never say out loud but always reach for first.

She looked over at me once, soft and settled, and I kept drivin’, leadin’ us where I knew she wanted to be without either one of us havin’ to speak on it.

DRAHMA TOWN

See, leave it up to a nigga like me and I was gon’ have yo’ ass all around town, ‘cause once I feed my woman and she happy, I be feelin’ generous as hell with the night.

I slid over to one of them after hour spots we always end up at when neither one of us ready to go home yet.

Soon as I stepped out the car, I felt that familiar buzz in my chest, not from the liquor but from knowin’ I was walkin’ in with my girl on my arm, lookin’ good as hell and smilin’ like she already knew she was about to have a time.

Reni had that glow on her, gorgeous, lips glossy as hell and her hips movin’ before the music even hit her ears, and I laughed to myself ‘cause she really couldn’t help it. That was just her spirit.

The door cracked open and it was like the noise spilled out into the street with the bass thumpin’ heavy, smoke already floatin’ through the air, and lights flashin’ like everybody inside forgot it was late as hell.

The bouncer peeped me and nodded like he always did.

There wasn’t no questions, no pat down; just respect, and I gave him that dap back before I pulled Reni in front of me and guided her through the door.

Inside, it was love off rip. Niggas was callin’ my name, slappin’ my hand, pullin’ me in for quick hugs like we hadn’t just seen each other yesterday, and Reni was laughin’ the whole time ‘cause she loved seein’ me in my element.

I kept my hand on her lower back, not even thinkin’ about it, just lettin’ everybody know she was with me and I was with her.
