Chapter 28

Dustin

She lifted her hips and slid her jeans down.

There was enough light in the car to see the dark road. She didn’t look at me, and I didn’t need her to.

I slipped my hand between her thighs. “You need to open wider for me, baby.”

I heard her sharp intake of breath, and then she opened her legs more.

She leaned forward suddenly, pushing her jeans farther down, and when she sat back, her legs were apart.

I cupped her pussy, feeling the heat, the dampness.

“Good girl,” I praised her, my thumb rubbing her clit over the cotton of her panties.

“Already wet for me.” I lifted my hand away. “Lose the panties.”

Hadley’s eyes snapped to mine. I saw her swallow, and then she did as she was told. With shaky hands, she pushed her underwear over her hips and down her legs. Her teeth worried at her bottom lip, and she kept her head turned slightly away from me as she settled back in the seat.

“Wider,” I instructed softly, because her legs had naturally closed a little when she set her ass back down on the seat.

I ran my middle finger over her pussy lips, feeling the moisture, and a low groan slipped out at how wet she was. Her gasp when I brushed over her clit made my already hard dick solid. With no build up, I pushed inside her; her moan made my heart rate pick up. She was tight, wet, and fucking needy.

“Fuck this.” I pulled my hand away and pressed call on the console. I put my hand back on Hadley’s pussy and resumed stroking.

“Yo,” Noah answered.

“I need a piss,” I told him. “Should’ve gone before we left, turning off up ahead. See you back home.” I hung up before he could say anything.

“I . . .”

“Shh, you don’t need to talk right now,” I told her.

I kept my hand moving as I took the exit, and soon I was pulling into a deserted-looking area.

I checked that the doors were locked and turned off the engine.

Pushing the center armrest up, I leaned over to her, my fingers working faster. “This good?”

Hadley nodded, her fingers curling into fists at her sides.

“Use your words, Peterson.” I reached down and lifted her leg out of her jeans, fumbling a little as I struggled with her sneaker.

When it was free, I lifted her leg, Hadley unbuckled her seatbelt, and together we moved her so she was half facing me, her legs spread wider, and my hand went back to working her clit.

“Lower your seat back,” I told her. “The button’s on the side. ”

She did as she was told. I took off my seatbelt, pulled off my hoodie, and pinned her leg back as far as it would go so that it wasn’t too uncomfortable for her.

“Fucking finally.” My mouth was on her pussy, my tongue running over her, sucking her, eating her out. Her hands were on my head, pushing me into her pussy as her hips ground against my face.

She was so damn sweet, I could do this all day. My fingers pushed inside her, building up a slow rhythm, curling every time, rubbing against her. Her hand gripped my shoulder.

“Fuck, Dustin,” she moaned above me, hips rocking. “Dustin, I’m going to . . .”

Her back arched, and I felt her climax around my fingers, her moan loud and deep. My mouth tasted her as she shuddered beneath me, licking her through her orgasm, until she was mumbling, “Enough.” I pulled back, unzipped myself, and freed my cock.

“Your choice, mouth or pussy, but I need one of them.” I looked at her in the dark, shadows lifting briefly as cars passed on the highway behind us.

Hadley didn’t hesitate. “Fuck me.”

I pulled my jeans down, crossed the distance to her, and pushed her up the seat a little more. There wasn’t much room. I gently rubbed her pussy again, my other hand grabbing my wallet and a condom. Once it was on, I lowered myself over her, my mouth just inches from hers.

“You sure?” I asked.

“I’m sure.” She reached up for me, her lips touching mine. Her mouth opened, and I groaned as our tongues touched, my hips lowering, grinding into her. Hadley reached for me, a hiss of protest that I was already wrapped, but she guided me to her. “You want this?” she asked me hesitantly.

I pushed inside her, both of us groaning. She tapped my shoulder. “Slower, you’re . . .”

“Yeah, I know.” I eased into her, my mouth on hers, kissing her deeper. “Tell me when you want more,” I ordered. Hoping it was soon, because my dick was only halfway in and I was ready to blow already.

I rocked my hips slightly against her because staying still was killing me; I didn’t want to rush her, but her pussy kept clenching around me.

Hadley’s mouth was on my neck. “More, give me more,” she breathed as her teeth nipped at me.

I did, and I had to clench my jaw. Fucking hell, she felt perfect.

“You good?” I asked, my voice strained. I tasted her mouth as I rocked into her.

I didn’t wait for an answer; her legs wrapped around my waist, and she was moving against me.

Her hips rolling against mine, thrust for thrust. I wasn’t going to last long.

I’d been on edge since my cock had been at her lips the other night.

My fingers dug into her ass as I lifted her hips to meet mine. “Next time, I promise we’ll make it to a bed,” I told her, kissing along her jawline. “With more room, and I’ll take my time, but right now—”

“Next time,” she agreed breathlessly, her hand sliding down in between us, rubbing her clit. “Next time we’ll be good,” she agreed breathlessly. “But right now, I just need you to fuck the shit out of me, Slater.”

“Fuck, baby,” I murmured against her lips. “All you had to do was ask.”

The car was full of our moans, groans, and the rhythmic slapping of flesh against flesh. I don’t know how we got lucky and no other car passed us, or no cop car stopped to ask why I was fucking her on the side of the road.

When we were done, my body sagged over hers for a moment, and then came the logistics, the awkward dismount. The rearranging of clothes, the shaky breathing, and the avoidance of eye contact.

I got out of the car, the warm air cooler than the heat inside. I disposed of the condom. Hadley reached into her purse and took out a small bottle of hand sanitizer, rubbing her hands. She offered it to me, and I took it. I handed it back to her, then put my seatbelt on again.

“You okay?” I asked as I started the car.

“I am,” she said. She sounded smug, and I glanced at her; she was fixing her hair and grinning at me.

It eased the tension inside me; I was expecting some snarky comment, but for once, she looked chilled.

I grinned at her. “Should have done that weeks ago,” I muttered, signaling and turning the car around. “That’s the most relaxed I’ve seen you,” I joked.

“Shut up and drive,” she said with a playful swipe at my arm. “I might take a nap.”

I choked on my laughter. “You mean, I get sex and a comfortable silence on the way home?” I teased. “I didn’t know it was my birthday.”

Hadley laughed. “Slater, if it was your birthday, I’d have blown you first.”

I looked at her, a streetlight illuminating the inside of the car, revealing her flushed skin and the sparkle in her eyes. “I’ll hold you to that, Peterson.”

Her smile faded, and the sparkle in her eyes turned heated. “Drive, or we’re not going to make it home tonight.”

I was tempted to put the car in park, but my phone ringing interrupted that thought.

“Dante,” I explained to her, and I accepted the call. “Yeah?”

“We stopped and you haven’t passed. You okay?”

Hadley looked guilty and embarrassed at once.

“We’re fine. I did what I needed, but Peterson went all awkward on me, and I had to find somewhere she could go since girls can’t do it standing up.”

Dante chuckled. “Such a gentleman. Okay, we’ll get back on the road. We weren’t sure if you needed help. Don’t loiter.”

I hung up and saw her outraged look. “What? We’re either late because I had to find a place for you to pee, or because we fucked. Which one do you want them to know?”

“Your pillow talk is shit,” Hadley scolded, her arms folding across her chest as she glared out the window. “Why are peeing and screwing my only options?”

I gaped at her. “What other options are there?” I asked reasonably, and when she didn’t answer, I took that to mean I won.

She fell asleep about five minutes later.

I won the argument, I had sex with the hottest girl I knew, and I had a peaceful drive home.

It wasn’t such a bad day after all.

* * *

I’d driven Hadley straight home; I didn’t bother taking her to the dorm. I doubted any of us were rehashing the day tonight. We’d done a six-hour round trip, and I was beat. I knew my roommates would be too.

She’d mumbled goodnight and left the car without looking back. I waited until her light went on in her apartment.

I hadn’t planned to wait, I just did. Then I headed back to the dorms.

The apartment was dark, and I was glad I guessed right. I went straight to my room, gently closing the door so I wouldn’t wake anyone. I took a quick shower, brushed my teeth, and put on my pajama shorts, ready for bed.

I jumped out of my skin when I opened the bathroom door, and Noah was sitting on my bed, grinning at me.

“So you nailed the reporter?”

“What the hell is wrong with you?” I whisper-hissed. “You damn near killed me.” I punched him on the arm. “Get off my bed, I’m tired. Why aren’t you sleeping?”

“Slept on the way home. Savvy and I both had a nap. Dante’s probably sound asleep, and so is Savvy. I thought I’d wait up for you.”

I appreciated it, but I was also too tired for his shit. “Thank you. I’m fine, now fuck off.”

Noah stretched. “Did you talk about that night at all, or did you just get busy?”

I glared at him. “We talked about what Ava said.”

“Uh-huh. And what did you decide?” He moved when I pushed him out of the way, and shifted farther down the bed so I could get in.

“Are you going to sit on the end of my bed?” I demanded, trying and failing to lie down because his stupid bulk was taking up room.

“I’m comfy,” he protested.

“Get comfy in your own bed. I want to sleep. It was a tiring night.”

He smirked, and I kicked him. He groaned and stood up. “But I’m not sleepy.”

“And I’m not your mother, go to bed and stop being a brat.”

We had a stare-off.

“Oh for fuck’s sake, what did you three come up with?” I relented.

“Savannah thought she was really helpful but didn’t take well to the guys. I don’t think she’ll ever invite the mean girl to the wedding.”

I snorted in agreement. “Quinn goes into defense mode, then backs off the more she gets to know you.”

“I don’t want to get to know her,” Noah said flatly. “She has high-maintenance written all over her.”

I thought about it. “She isn’t,” I defended her. “She’s genuinely nice. Wicked sense of humor.” I thought about the evening more. “Never expected her to end up with Gray, though. Opposites must attract after all.”

Noah looked surprised too. “You think? Them two? Nah.”

I nodded. “Quinn and Ash used to date in high school. There’s no reason she would be in that house if not for one of them. Gray’s the only one left.” Noah looked confused. “Dude, it was three guys, three girls. They’re paired off.”

“They could just be friends . . .”

“They’re not.” I got comfier in my bed. “We think Ava knew something more. You?”

He nodded. “Dante did. I’m not so sure, Savannah thought she was really helpful.”

We exchanged a look. “My money’s on Spence’s gut. And I know the Devils too well.”

“Yeah, me too, now you think the same.” He ran a hand over his face. “What happened to just coming to college to play football?” he asked tiredly.

“I know.” I had the same thought myself, more than once, since all this crap started.

I just wanted to play football, graduate, and then get drafted.

I didn’t want to be part of something bigger, unless that something was winning a national championship.

I’d done that. Next season, I wanted to keep it.

Or at least play well enough so my draft stock would go up.

I didn’t need to fix the problems at Wrighton.

I just needed to do what I came here to do and then leave.

But we were involved now. I didn’t think I could walk away now, even though I wanted to.

But . . . I looked at Noah, who was staring at nothing, and I was sure he was going through the same struggle I was.

We were in it, and the only way out was through.

It sucked, but I think it sucked for everyone.

Silence had fallen between Noah and me, and I looked over at him. “Um, Noah . . . if there’s nothing else, can I sleep now? We can talk about it later, when he’s awake.”

His eyebrows raised, and I scowled at him when I saw he was about to protest.

“Fine. But just so you know—” he hesitated at the door — “you’ve got a hickey on your neck, and you have the media girl tomorrow. Better ask Savvy for something to cover it with.” He tapped the doorframe. “Night, dude.”

Did I have a hickey? I got out of bed, went back to the bathroom, and checked the mirror. Nothing. I came out, and he was in the doorway, grinning like a cat that got the cream.

“Classic.” Noah winked. “I can’t wait until you tell Spence this. He was so sure you’d been a gentleman.” Noah chuckled. “Later.”

“Asshole.”

I got back into bed. I tried not to think about it. I decided she needed to know.

Me: Hey, hope you’re sleeping. Possible the others know we hooked up on the way back. Blame Matthews

I put my phone down. It instantly vibrated.

Peterson: When you say possible, do you mean it’s concrete or suspect?

I thought about it.

Me: Leaning more toward cement

Peterson: Did you kiss and tell?

The cheek of her.

Me: No. Noah told me I had a hickey, I checked the mirror, he caught me

The dots came and went.

Peterson: You seriously fell for that?

Me: It’s late, I’m tired. Not everyone got to nap off their postcoital bliss

Peterson: Grouchy

Me: Go to sleep.

Peterson: Night x

Peterson: Didn’t mean to send the x

I grinned. Peterson, flustered, was funny.

Me: I don’t get an x? For real?

Peterson: You want an x?

Me: Not if it’s grudged

The dots came and went at a rapid pace. A few minutes later, she texted.

Peterson: Goodnight, Slater x

I laughed as I replied.

Me: Night, Peterson.

I put the phone down and closed my eyes. I just loved pushing her buttons.
