Chapter Fifteen – Mackenzie
MACKENZIE
My hands shook as I crawled up onto my knees and started to help Bradly undress. He was here. He had come to tell me about Crystal and to say he was sorry for canceling our dinner. I had never had anyone put me first like that before.
Once he was out of his clothes and standing before me gloriously naked, I made my way off the bed. It didn’t take him long to start undressing me. He kissed me as he moved his hands over my body, causing goose bumps to erupt in their wake.
He walked us back until my legs hit the bed, then he swept me up into his arms and laid me down, crawling over me.
“Kenz,” he whispered as he placed kisses along my jaw and neck. “I need to make sure you come first.”
I certainly wasn’t going to argue with him. “O-okay.”
He moved lower and took one of my nipples into his mouth as his hand played with the other one. I arched off the bed at the pure pleasure he was giving me.
“Yes,” I softly whispered. “More.”
Feeling him smile against my skin, I lifted my head to see him place a kiss on my skin as he moved lower. I drew in a sharp breath and grabbed the sheets.
Then he was there. His hot breath blowing on my clit, which throbbed with anticipation.
“Bradly,” I begged as I lifted my hips in a silent demand for more of what he’d given me earlier today.
“My greedy, greedy girl. Do you want me to touch you here?”
He flicked my clit with his tongue, and I cried out. “Yes!”
“What about here?”
The feel of his tongue sweeping up my core nearly had me coming on the spot.
“Yes. All of it. I want all of it. Please!”
His mouth covered me and tingles burst throughout my body. I knew it wasn’t going to take me long to have an orgasm.
“Oh…oh…oh…”
It felt like that was the only word capable of coming out of my mouth. I felt Bradly’s touch everywhere. My entire body was on fire, and the tips of my toes started to tingle. I pushed my fingers through his hair, keeping him right where I needed him.
“I’m going to come!” I cried out as he did something different with his fingers, touched some spot I didn’t know existed, and I instantly combusted. The most intense orgasm of my life rippled through my entire being. If I didn’t know any better, I would have sworn I’d lifted off the bed. Stars danced behind my eyelids, and when I opened them, I saw him.
Bradly.
Holding himself over me, those dark eyes filled with something I didn’t realize I needed so desperately until that very moment.
I didn’t care that I had only known him a few days. A few weeks, months, years…they wouldn’t make a difference. I knew that I loved him. And I wanted to give this man everything.
Reaching up, I cupped the side of his face with my hand. I felt him between my legs, his body ready to connect and become one with mine.
He slowly pushed inside me, and I sucked in a breath at the tight stretch, but quickly relaxed. Once he was completely inside, he stilled, and the most magical, beautiful moment of my life occurred.
“I love you.”
We both said it at the same time…and we both smiled.
“Jinx,” Bradly whispered as he smiled wider and gifted me those dimples before his mouth captured mine.
My legs and arms wrapped around him as if we’d done this a million times before. The feeling of Bradly making love to me was unlike anything I had ever experienced. I’d never truly known what making love was until this very moment. The feel of his body slowly moving over me, inside of me, was like Heaven, or at least what I imagined Heaven must be like. He placed soft kisses along my jaw and neck. Another kiss on the tip of my nose before he leaned his forehead to mine.
“Kenz, I’m not sure how much longer I can control myself. You feel so good. I can’t…I can’t…”
“Then don’t,” I softly whispered. “Let go and give me everything.”
He groaned and started to move his hips faster. I arched my back and moved to meet him thrust for thrust.
“Kenzie…oh, God! I’m not going…to…last.”
I gripped his shoulders and moved with him; our bodies were in a perfect rhythm. When our eyes met, I felt his entire body tremble as he pushed in harder and so deep, I felt another orgasm start.
Bradly began to move erratically and call out my name, over and over, as our bodies slammed together with the most erotic sound I’d ever heard.
When my orgasm came, I was done. Finished. Ruined for any other man for the rest of my life. Hell, I didn’t want any other man.
The room slowly stopped spinning, and I opened my eyes to see Bradly holding himself over me, his breathing fast and hard like mine. He smiled, and my whole world seemed to tip right into place.
This was my purpose. He was my purpose. The air I breathed. My gaze met his, and it was like he could see every single chapter of my soul, and he didn’t care that some of them were darker than others. He only saw the good, the light, and oh, how that made me love him even more.
Bradly slowly shook his head. “That was…I’ve never, it’s never been…it was beyond perfect, Kenz. I feel dizzy, full of emotions I’ve never experienced before.”
Smiling, I ran my finger over his stubbled jaw. “Neither have I.”
He pulled out of me slowly, and I instantly missed the connection. He stood, removed the condom, and headed into the bathroom. I closed my eyes and stretched my entire body. The soreness between my legs made me smile. It had been a while since I’d had sex, and I was feeling it.
I thought about Bradly’s last name and giggled. Littlewood. His wood was far from little.
I snickered louder and covered my mouth.
“What are you laughing about?” he asked as he crawled back onto the bed and pulled my leg toward him. When I felt the warm washcloth between my legs, tears threatened to pool up and spill over. I blinked rapidly.
“What are you doing?” I asked quietly.
A smile appeared on his face. “Taking care of you.”
My hand came up to my mouth, but the sob escaped and the fight to hold the floodgates failed. The dam was broken, and I was crying.
The next thing I knew, I was sitting on his lap as he held me. “Did I hurt you? I’m so sorry I lost control like that.”
Shaking my head, I tried to speak, but the only thing that would come out was a stupid, silly sob.
“Hey, hey, shhh, it’s okay, baby. It’s okay. Just take in a few deep breaths.”
Bradly inhaled, and I did the same, except mine sounded like a five-year-old trying to calm down from a temper tantrum. When I finally got myself under control, I drew in a deep breath and exhaled. “I’m so sorry. I don’t know what came over me.”
“Did I do something wrong?”
My head snapped up and I stared at him in disbelief. “Oh my gosh, no. The opposite, really. I’ve never had anyone take care of me after sex. I mean, I don’t think what we just shared was simple sex. It was so much more. But still, no man has ever…cared.”
He wiped a tear from my cheek. “I care, and I’ll always care. I’ll always make you my priority, Kenz. I’ll also never lift a hand to you or raise my voice.”
Before I could stop it, my lower lip quivered. Bradly leaned in and kissed me softly, drawing my lip into his mouth and running his tongue over it before letting it go.
“I want to hurt the man who laid his hands on you. If I’m being honest, I want to kill him.”
“Well, hopefully I’ll never lay eyes on him again. Therefore, you’ll stay out of jail for murder.” A crease appeared between his brows, and I reached up with my finger to smooth it away. “I’m okay. He has no power over me, and I’m happy. So very, very happy.”
After another kiss, Bradly carried the washcloth into the bathroom, then crawled back into the bed. He put his arms around me and drew me against his body until we were spooning.
“I should check on Pickles,” I said sleepily.
Bradly’s chest rumbled as he said, “He ran out the door when you opened it.”
Glancing back at him, I asked, “He did? What a terrible mother I am! I didn’t even notice he got past me. Thank goodness my apartment opens to the barn.”
He kissed my shoulder and whispered, “Just let me hold you for a little bit, then we’ll go get some dinner.”
I tensed. “What about your talk with Crystal? Is she mad?”
“She,” he said on a huff, “can wait until tomorrow…or later.”
Standing in front of the mirror, I turned from one side to the other as I surveyed the dress I was wearing. It was a burgundy mock-neck knit midi-dress that hugged my curves to perfection. It wasn’t too sophisticated, but it was dressy enough to meet Bradly’s entire family tonight.
After looking at Mr. Whiskers and getting his approval, I took it off and hung it back up. “If you get a single cat hair on this dress, it’s a week in the barn for you.”
If I didn’t know better, I’d have sworn he rolled his eyes at me.
There was a knock at the door, and I quickly put on a T-shirt and sweats. One quick look at the clock told me there was no way it could be Bradly. He should be with Crystal right now, talking to her about whatever it was that had been so important for her to fly to Hamilton.
I couldn’t help but smile as I walked to the door and thought about how amazing it had been, waking up in Bradly’s arms this morning. We were both so exhausted that we slept until nearly seven-thirty. It was his phone ringing over and over that made us finally get up.
Peeking through the hole, I grinned and unlocked the door. Avery stood there with a bag over her shoulder and a garment bag in her hand.
“I’m here!”
Laughing, since I wasn’t expecting her at all, I opened the door and she swooped in like a tornado.
“Okay, I got the picture of the dress, it’s perfection. Although, you might want to bring a pair of jeans and a shirt for game night.”
I quirked a brow. “Are you being serious right now? I can’t tell.”
She laughed. “Oh, I’m being dead serious.”
My mouth opened but I quickly closed it.
“Now, your hair is so pretty, so I think we do a half-up, half-down look.”
Nodding, I replied, “You would know better than me.”
She beamed at the compliment. Motioning for me to follow her to the bathroom, she called out, “Let’s do this!”
Avery stood back and surveyed her work. “Here, hold this mirror and look at the back of it.”
I did as she said—and gasped. “How did you get it to look like it is weaved in there like that?”
“I paid attention during fashion shows when the hairstylists did the models’ hair. And when they did my own hair. Do you like the little strands on the side? I think it looks cute framing your face like that.”
“I love it, Avery!”
She bounced on her toes and clapped. “Great! Now let’s do your makeup.”
“What about your hair?”
“Oh, I’m doing a simple pony. I don’t have anyone to impress.”
She dumped out a bag of makeup, and my eyes nearly popped out of my head. “I don’t think I’ve ever owned that much makeup in my entire life. You and my sister Emily would be the best of friends. She loves makeup. Always has.”
“Bradly said she’s confirmed for New Year’s Eve.”
“Yep,” I said as I popped my P. “Her fiancé Doug is coming as well.”
“Well, I can’t wait to meet her.”
Avery handed me the mirror again and asked, “What do you think?”
My eyes went wide. “Wow. I don’t think my makeup has ever looked this good.”
She grinned. “Okay, let me change, and then I told Bradly we’d meet them up at Mom and Dad’s house.”
I let out a shaky breath, and Avery took my hand in hers. “Everyone is going to love you. Stop worrying. Besides, the most important people, you’ve already met—Grams and Mom—and they love you!”
Laughing, I replied, “That’s true.”
While Avery slipped into the bathroom to change, I paced across the small living room floor and twisted my hands together nervously.
“Ready?”
Glancing over my shoulder, I grinned. “You look cute. And comfy.”
Avery was dressed in jeans, a light blue sweater, and black knee boots.
“Thanks!” she replied, gathering up all her stuff. “Okay, it’s time.”
I grabbed my phone and lipstick and slipped them into my small purse before I followed her toward the door. Before we got there, Avery stopped and turned to face me.
“So…game night.”
Swallowing the sudden lump in my throat, I barely got my word out. “Yes?”
She smiled, and it struck me how much she looked like her mother. “You like games, right?”
I nodded. “I love playing games.”
Avery looked relieved. Then her face turned dead serious. “Good. Now, I’m going to need you to forget about Bradly, the rest of the family, and most importantly—forget that you work for my mother and uncle, because once it’s game time, we will crush all those who oppose us. Capiche?”
My eyes went wide as I tried to figure out if she was being serious or not. When she didn’t falter, I simply nodded.
Her sweet smile was suddenly back. “Great! I knew I could count on you.”
Avery opened the door and bounced down the steps while I followed slowly behind.
Glancing toward the heavens, I whispered, “It’s all in your hands now!”
