I left the world behind a long time ago. The woman I thought I loved showed me what heartbreak is like. I knew then that I could do a whole lot better on my own.

So I left. Everything. Everyone. Picked up my work, my trade, and walked the f*ck away. Until she decides that it’s time for me to show my face again. Not that I know her, though she knows me.

My work. My art. And it’s enough for her to risk everything for a man she’s never met. Last time I gave my trust, it hurt. I still bear those scars.

Now she needs something I’m not sure I can give someone perfect like her. Hell, I’m not sure I should.

But she makes me want to try.
