35. Mia #2
The three of them were bare-chested with dark pajama pants on. I got the impression that they’d done some shopping for themselves yesterday, too. When I inquired why they were dressed as triplets, Diego had somewhat sheepishly said that Aaron told them how much I seemed to like that look.
Which was true. And now I couldn’t wait to glide my fingers over those muscular torsos. To kiss those warm lips. To slide my hand past the waistband of those pajama pants, and?—
Diego cleared his throat. “I think we should start by deciding on some ground rules.”
“Rules?” I asked. That sounded a little extreme.
“Guidelines,” he clarified.
“All right,” Aaron said. “How about the first one is that you not be an RA tonight?” I could’ve kissed him for that alone.
Diego grinned. “I promise I won’t be, after this.”
“Okay, I’ll be serious,” Aaron said. “Obviously, anyone can opt out, call for a halt or a pause at any time.”
Diego nodded. “Yes. And I think it might help to keep our mission in mind.”
“There’s a mission?” I said, both nervous and excited.
“Yes. To give you as much pleasure as humanly possible.”
Shivers traveled the length of my spine. “I like that mission,” I said faintly.
“That’s what this night is about,” Diego continued, giving Aaron and Cody a look. “Mia’s pleasure. And?—”
“It’s not just about her pleasure,” Cody said, so quietly that I had to focus to catch the words.
Then I nodded. “I agree. I want you three to have as much pleasure as I do. I think we need to?—”
“No.” Cody sounded a little frustrated. “It’s not just about pleasure.”
“Okay,” I said, shutting up and waiting.
We all waited.
There was tension on his beautiful face. Tension and frustration. His hands twitched once, as if he wanted to break into sign.
I saw how much he wanted to share his thoughts with us—and I saw the defeated slump to his shoulders when he gave up. He waved away the attention, as if didn’t matter.
But it did.
“Take your time,” Aaron said.
But Cody just shook his head, looking away.
I scooted closer and put my hand on his arm. “It’s okay. We can wait.”
“Not important,” he mumbled.
Then Diego scooted closer. “It is important, and we’d like to hear it.”
Sliding my arm around Cody’s waist, I leaned against him, trying to offer quiet support.
For a moment, he took that comfort, leaning against me as well, placing his hand on my thigh, but in a nonsexual way.
Then he pulled away. “You guys should set the agenda. You’re the ones who can actually speak. ”
“You could always speak, even if it was sometimes difficult for you,” Aaron began.
“But lately, it’s seemed like it might be easier for you.
At least from an outside perspective. Some days it’s almost like we can’t get you to shut up.
I don’t know what caused the change, but I’ve known you for a year and a half, and I’ve noticed. ”
Diego nodded. “Me too.”
“Her,” Cody finally said, inclining his head toward me. “She’s what changed.”
His words warmed my heart, but I didn’t know if that was the whole picture. “You’re not giving yourself enough credit.”
He shook his head, still frustrated. “It’s… shit. I knew this wouldn’t come out right.”
“I’m prepared to wait all night,” I said gently. “Although if that’s the case, at some point I’m probably going to put more clothes on.”
“And we don’t want that to happen,” Aaron joked, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw a hint of a smile on Cody’s face.
Finally, he sighed. “No, we don’t. The thing is…
” he looked over at me, and pulled back a little, as if I was too close, too far into his personal space for him to address me.
Which was undoubtedly true, and I scooted back on the bed.
But I was fairly confident that under other circumstances, he wouldn’t mind me being that close.
“The thing is that I missed you. Last night and the night before.” The sincerity in his voice touched something deep inside me.
“Last night she was with Diego,” Aaron said.
Cody nodded, and we waited for elaboration, but it didn’t come.
“And we all watched that movie the night before,” I added. ”Together.”
“Not then.” Cody shook his head. “After. In bed. You shared a bed with me one night, and then not the next two. And I missed you.”
I reached out and patted his toned forearm, unsure how to respond. I couldn’t exactly say that I missed him too, not when I’d spent the night with Diego last night. Even though in a weird way, I had.
“I’ve never really spent a whole night with anyone,” Cody said, starting slowly and then picking up speed. “It was too quiet in my room last night. Even with music.”
“We’re all here together tonight,” I said.
Aaron gave a ghost of a grin. “And I’m sure it’ll be anything but quiet.”
Diego was still trying to figure out what Cody meant. “We have to take turns, or...” He stopped suddenly, realizing that wasn’t the best way to phrase it.
“Together is better,” Cody said stubbornly.
“We haven’t even tried it out yet,” Diego said, a little more cautiously. “And even if… even if we like this arrangement, that’s a lot to expect from Mia.”
“It’s not just about Mia.” An angry breath of air hissed out between his teeth.
“I’ve never had this… this kind of… connection,” he gestured to Aaron and Diego, but couldn’t seem to continue.
But we knew him, and we waited. “Are we just roommates who… who take turns?” He gave me an apologetic glance as he said that.
“No, we’re not,” Diego said steadily, and I hoped that he was following Cody better than I was—even though I desperately wanted to. “We’re closer than that. We’re all on Team Mia… that means we support her, but also each other.”
Aaron nodded rapidly. “Absolutely. Last year you were just my roommate. But now we’re good friends. Friends sharing in this amazing experience, but who also understand each other. Who get each other.”
That made me blink rapidly. It didn’t seem as if Cody had had a lot of good friends in his life, especially not ones who understood him.
My fingers found his. “If this were just about me…all of you wanting…” I trailed off, aware that finishing that would make me sound conceited, which wasn’t the case at all. It still amazed me that any of these wonderful men wanted me, let alone three of them.
“If it were just about wanting her, then we wouldn’t all be here,” Aaron said.
“No offense, Mia, but if the goal is simply to give you as much pleasure as possible, then we could buy a bunch of toys and an eight-pack of batteries and—” he stopped abruptly, apparently noticing the heat radiating from my face. “Shit.”
Cody actually looked a little amused. “Now no one can talk right.”
“Sorry, Mia.” Aaron took a deep breath and tried again.
“I just mean that you’re right, Cody. It’s not just about the pleasure of one person.
I like being on Team Mia, and I’m very glad that you two are, too.
” He looked at first Cody and then Diego.
Then me. “And you as well, because without you, Team Mia wouldn’t work very well. ”
Diego had been quiet for a few minutes. Then he addressed Cody. “I honestly think we’re on the same page. But what you said… it needed to be acknowledged. And I’m sorry that I didn’t, so that you had to. I know it’s hard for you.”
Cody tugged me toward him and put his arm around my shoulders. “Maybe it is getting a little easier.”
We were all quiet for a little while, thinking over Cody’s words. To me, they meant so much. And Aaron had a point, though he botched the delivery a bit. If it was just about earth-shattering orgasms, then it didn’t matter who was here with me.
But that wasn’t the case, and it did matter very, very much. I liked each of these men. More than liked. They were good for me, but they were also good for each other. Maybe that was one of the things that had drawn me to them in the first place.
“Thank you for speaking up,” I said softly to Cody, kissing the side of his face lightly.
“So…” Diego began. “Not to ruin the moment or be the RA, but where do we go from here? Do we maybe want to hold off on this for a while?”
“It’s our last night here,” I protested.
“Yeah, but after all that… I don’t know if we should all climb under the covers, or head to group therapy,” Aaron said.
We laughed a little at that. Finally, I let out a deep breath. “My vote is to spend the night here, in this room, with you three. But that’s just my vote. We all get one.”
“That’s what I vote, too,” Diego said.
“I’m in,” Aaron said.
“Me too,” Cody said.
Was it possible to be nervous and happy at the same time? That’s what it felt like. “So, um… I don’t even know what to?—”
“Why don’t you lie back on the pillows?” Diego suggested.
“Yeah, um, okay.” I started to pull away from Cody, but he held onto me for a few seconds. “Hold that thought,” I said to Diego.
I climbed in Cody’s lap, straddling him, took his beautiful face in my hands, and kissed him, long and hard. “Thank you for speaking up.”
When I let him go, his eyes stayed close, his head tilted toward me for one long moment. Then those vivid blue eyes opened to meet mine.
Aware that Aaron and Diego had watched that—and that everyone was soon going to see a lot more—I got a little self-conscious. And when I did that, I sometimes made bad jokes. “Anyone else want to kiss him before we start?”
“Maybe later,” Diego said.
Cody kept his eyes on me. “Lie back on the pillows, Mia.” The look he gave me was full of affection and desire. “We’ll take it from there.”
