Chapter 19 #2
Inkiri kept thrusting while my muscles jerked, and it shook me so hard that it was almost uncomfortable to bear. Almost. It was just this side of too much, my muscles contracting and twitching, giving all I had while my mate pumped my cock as if to make sure there’d be nothing left.
“Yes, sadir, you’re so pretty.” He ran his fingers over one tight nipple. “My perfect hangu mate.”
The heat of it went on until I felt Inkiri finally, finally come inside me with a groan of pleasure and a few thrusts that would hopefully leave me bruised.
I wanted him to collapse on top of me, wanted to feel him skin to skin, but he wasn’t the kind of guy to do that.
Even while he was still breathing heavily, he managed to turn us on our sides in the small bed, making sure we were close.
I was completely boneless by this point and totally blissed out on what had to have been the best orgasm of my life.
Inkiri tried to get to my neck to lick me, but I wanted a kiss. In my drowsy state, I managed to get a hold of one of his horns. I led his lips to mine.
Inkiri was good about giving in when he knew what I wanted, and he was busy showing me all his skill at kissing when I felt my ass get fuller and the pinch of his barb taking hold of me.
I shuddered with aftershocks of pleasure, and he had to hold me firmly before all the energy finally went out of me and I became a puddle of human in my bagu’s arms.
I shouldn’t have been surprised when I found out that the sentenmen plus Sonyo had decided to bed down in the same apartment as us, meaning they’d obviously heard me and Inkiri, but what else was new?
After a quick shower in the dorm room, we headed to the common kitchen of the apartment.
“Rory!” Sonyo jumped down from his chair and went straight for me.
He hesitated, but then ended up giving me a brief hug. Right after that, he went back to his usual fast-talking self, occasionally looking over at Inkiri. Not that Sonyo actually paused long enough that Inkiri could have translated anything.
I heard “vinné” just before Sonyo stopped talking and pointed at the table, where a somewhat annoyed Vergis sat and tapped on his phone.
Nokim was operating a coffee maker that hadn’t been here yesterday, and Fellisse and Lissir were trying some of the candy Inkiri and I had found yesterday, exchanging bags as they went.
Inkiri leaned in closer. “Sonyo says he brought lots of vinné for you like Vergis said, and he made sure to tell the kitchen at the Raiken that you don’t like massa buns at all. He also picked flowers from the fields outside—”
“Yes, flower.” Sonyo pointed at a mug repurposed to hold them. The mug had a cartoon mammoth on the side. Its coloring clashed somewhat with the red and yellow and blue flowers, but this was a college dorm, and you made do with what you had.
Vergis worked hard at looking casually bored. “They sprouted up all over the college lawns outside early this morning. The kid was getting annoying, so I told him to go pick some for you. Figured princesses like flowers.”
“Oh?” Lissir looked up and licked sugar off his lips. “I thought I saw you helping little Sonyo pick flowers. It must have been a…what’s that thing, an optical illusion.”
Vergis glared, to no noticeable effect.
“Flower?” Sonyo made big eyes at me while he rocked back and forth on his paws.
I smiled at him. “Yeah, I like them. Thank you, Sonyo.”
The kid grinned from ear to ear.
“I got your stupid apocalypse backpack, by the way.” Vergis pointed at my trusty backpack. “The way you’re fucking, I figured you might need a change of underwear or whatever.”
“Oh, thanks.” I went over there to change my socks. I’d stolen a pair from the unknown college student who’d lived in the room before us after my shower, but my cat socks were better.
“Let me.” Inkiri took the socks from my hands and changed them for me right after I’d sat down at the table.
“Vinné.” Sonyo sat back down and pushed a plate toward me.
Lissir crunched down on another piece of candy. “We’re not allowed to have any, Sonyo says.”
“But we have these green, squishy things.” Fellisse held up a gummi worm before sucking it into his mouth.
Nokim put a mug of coffee down in front of me. “There are so many treasures in the big cities. I’m sorry, this isn’t quite what you like. It is a chocolate mocha. I found the machine and some ingredients in an abandoned store a few streets from here.”
“Oh! That’s perfect.” A sweet pick-me-up sounded like just the right thing. My mouth watered at the thought of beautiful carbs, and I realized I wanted sugar badly. The coffee was half gone by the time Inkiri was done with the socks and had sat down next to me.
Vergis hummed. “Yeah, fucking so loud normal conversation is impossible would make a person thirsty.”
I ate a piece of vinné, which thankfully was the sweeter kind I’d already had once at the Raiken.
“Sorry about that, but no one told me you guys were here.” I gave Inkiri some side-eye.
“You were distracting, sadir. I forgot,” Weirdo Husband lied.
“Whatever. My dads went home last night. They took… You know. They took Aragis.” Vergis shrugged, and since he was sitting next to me, I reached over to squeeze his hand once. “Anyway,” Vergis went on, “Dad’s coming back in a bit.”
Lissir leaned forward to catch my eye. “Hove asked that we join him in the Buttery for some food whenever you feel up to it, Rory. Nokim, you should make him another mocha.”
The machine rattled. “I’m already at it.”
Vergis sighed. “On it. You’re already on it.”
Nokim blushed and said nothing at all.
“The Buttery?” I asked.
“Oh, Buttery,” Sonyo said, then added more in Lugarra.
Inkiri clicked. “It’s the hall of food, Sonyo says.”
Vergis looked up from his phone. “Just an old and fancy dining hall. Bit ostentatious for my taste, but that’s academia for you.”
I stuffed some more vinné into my mouth. “Well, I don’t care, but I like the idea of food. Sorry. Anyone else want some of these? They’re so good.”
Fellisse chuckled. “Magic makes you hungry, doesn’t it?”
“All the screaming makes him hungry,” Vergis grumbled.
Nokim put another coffee down in front of me and took the now-empty cup away. “I’ll make you another chocolate mocha too, Vergis.” Nokim clearly enjoyed using the new machine.
“Can you make one for Ink as well?”
Inkiri nodded. “Yes, please, if you don’t mind, Noki. Vergis first, of course.”
Fellisse sighed loudly. “Very well, I’ll try that chocolate mocha also, even if it isn’t a café au lait.”
Lissir nodded. “In that case, so will I.”
Nokim said something to Sonyo. The kid tried pronouncing “chocolate mocha” but ended up with “cocomocho.”
We all laughed, he laughed with us, and it felt good to just sit here with everyone. I sensed the land in the distance too, happy once more that the veils no longer allowed monsters through. I got the sense that it really liked the flowers it had made.
