Two men decided that his Ranger Rover was worth more than his life and left him dying in the street as they drove off with his truck.
To her, life was too short to spend it being miserable.
She’d seen multiple therapists that helped her get over her grief.
She used to suffer with horrible panic attacks, but that was controlled for the most part.
Fonzo was a Godsend and he knew how to handle things when one occasionally crept up on her.
Caprice was always complaining but you rarely saw her without Monty, and everybody knew why.
One of Clover’s best friends, Ivanece, or Iva, was Monty’s ex-girlfriend.
Iva wasn’t just his ex; she was his first love.
She and Monty had been together for years until he went to jail.
They had just moved into their apartment a few months before he went, and Iva still lived there.
Caprice was one of the guards that he messed with while locked up and she was who snuck in all of his contraband for him.
Iva was prepared to ride with him until the wheels fell off, but that only lasted for about six months before she got wind of what was going on.
She knew that they were being messy, but two of the female guards just so happened to be discussing it when she was standing in line to be checked in to see Monty.
She was heartbroken and angry but she decided to stay for her visit.
As soon as Monty came out to the visitation room, Iva beat his ass and was being led out in cuffs a short time later.
Iva’s sister, Irie, and Clover had to drive over an hour away from New Orleans to bail her out. Iva was banned from visiting ever again but that was fine with her. She was done with Monty and she had no reason to return.
Unlike twenty-seven year old Irie, who was married with three kids, twenty-five year old Ivanece was single and child free.
She really thought that Monty was the one, but he broke her heart.
She didn’t want to hear his excuses about what Caprice was doing for him.
She loved him enough to risk her freedom by doing the same thing, but he never even asked.
He claimed that he loved her too much to see anything happen to her but he obviously didn’t love her enough.
Although they hadn’t been together in years, it really hurt when Monty came home and moved in with the bitch.
Caprice lost her job four months before he was released as a result of being caught sneaking his contraband in the prison, and he blamed himself for everything that happened.
Monty had Hank and his brothers helping Caprice out with her bills until he got out, but that was only because he felt bad about the role that he played in it all.
He made sure that Iva’s bills were paid too, but it wasn’t the same.
In his mind, they were gonna get back together eventually.
He had no intentions on being with Caprice but that ended up happening anyway.
His emotions were all over the place but he didn’t know how to handle it all.
He went from being pissed with Iva for leaving him the way she did when he was locked up to begging her to take him back.
By then, she had moved on and was dating other people.
He ended up moving in with Caprice until her lease was up.
They moved into a nice apartment soon after, but everything that Monty did was out of guilt and not love.
He was still in love with Iva but, to other people, they hated each other.
Although Caprice tried to hide it, she didn’t really like Clover because of her tight-knit friendship with Iva.
They were always together and it had been that way since they were kids.
She tried to get Amina on board with her but she loved Clover.
Unlike Caprice, she took time and talked to Clover personally more than once.
Although she couldn’t fully comprehend all that she’d gone through over the years, her heart still went out to the chocolate beauty who was deemed an orphan at only ten years old.
What seemed like favoritism to Caprice was actually Hank and Diva being what they were considered to be, Clover’s parents.
They treated her the same way they treated their sons and so did the rest of the family.
They were all that she had in New Orleans and they had raised her longer than her biological parents did.
It was really fucked up because Clover really liked Caprice, despite her close friendship with Iva.
She considered Caprice a friend and that’s exactly what she pretended to be.
Amina didn’t do mess, so she would never repeat some of the things that she knew or heard.
Diva and her mother already weren’t too fond of Caprice, and they would have made sure she stayed away if she wanted to or not. Sadly, Monty didn’t care either way.
Amina would have hated for things to escalate because Caprice wasn’t gonna like the outcome.
As big as her family was, they were no match for the drama that Dash and his brothers would bring.
He loved Clover more than his next breath and he would most definitely go to war behind her.
She’d seen it happen once before when they got divorced and Clover got another man.
Unfortunately, if she had to choose a side, Amina was going with Clover and away from Caprice and her negative energy.
