Hank was filling a big pot with cooking oil for the fish, but Monty quickly got his attention.
He already knew that he was referring to Corey’s nieces because they were the only ones who kept up the bullshit.
He was still close with Corey’s siblings and he didn’t want beef between their kids to change that.
“Man, look at this shit.”
Monty showed them the pictures of Caprice’s text message thread that he got from her phone.
Clover and Iva seemed to be at the forefront of their hate and the messages showed exactly how they felt about them.
Dash and Monty caught a few strays but that was to be expected.
Fonzo’s face twisted in anger when he read their latest messages.
Apparently, Caprice felt some kind of way about not being invited to any of their celebrations.
She admitted to being hurt, but he had no sympathy for the bitch.
Some of the things that they were saying about his wife had him seeing red.
“Fuck them hoes. They better hope I don’t slap all their hating asses whenever we cross paths again.” Fonzo was fuming.
“Oh no, them hoes got my baby upset. Don’t make me come out of retirement.” Diva cracked her knuckles. Fonzo was her calm child but he could also be a quiet storm when he needed to be.
“It’s all good, bro. I stay ready and they know they can’t handle me. I’ll box it out with their mammies too if they feel some kind of way,” Clover laughed but she was dead serious.
“Period, Clo, and you know me and Iva got your back,” Diva instigated, as Iva nodded in agreement.
“Ain’t nobody boxing or slapping nobody, and I already told you about that fighting shit, Clo. You’re a mother and you need to act like it. Stop stressing over nothing. I’ll handle it,” Hank said.
“Why you fussing at her? She ain’t the one that be starting shit,” Dash spoke up, defending Clover like always.
“Shut the fuck up, Junior. Clover know what we always talk about.”
“Yeah, I do, but I’m tired. They act like I did something to them. I lost both my parents, and you and Diva have been more of my family than they are. You would think they would embrace me more, but them bitches are jealous because my grandma gave me money that was rightfully mine. Ok,
so maybe she does show me and Kardi a little more attention when we see her, but we’re all that she has left of her deceased son. They get to see her every day and still ain’t satisfied. Besides my grandma and my mama’s side of the family, fuck them, and I mean that as disrespectfully as I can.”
Clover wiped the few stray tears that fell from her eyes once she spoke.
Talking about her parents always made her emotional.
Hank walked over and pulled her into a hug that Dash quickly interrupted.
He took his father’s place and wrapped his arms around her entire body as he whispered in her ear lovingly.
Hank felt bad for her because she was right about how she felt.
Corey’s sisters were some hating ass bitches and they raised their kids the same way.
Clover was his only heir and Tilly did right by her with her father’s insurance money.
His siblings had their hands out, and they never got over their mother giving so much money to his daughter.
“Now, I’m pissed the fuck off. Them bitches already know that I don’t play behind my kids.” Diva was fuming. She hated to see her babies cry, and it was even worse with Clover. She had been through enough and cried enough tears to last a lifetime.
“I’m straight. Let’s just celebrate Poppa’s birthday. All that other shit is irrelevant.” Clover got herself together just as quickly as she fell apart.
“That’s right, baby, and we have a lot more to celebrate. My baby is finally back with the love of his life and that zoo animal is out of ours. We all need to drink to that.” Dot held up her can of beer like she was toasting.
“See, Clover, you need a vacation. Y’all should come with us. Monty and Iva should come too,” Amina said excitedly.
“Come with y’all where?” Dash asked.
Amina and Fonzo took a few minutes to explain everything to him, and he seemed to be on board. Monty was diggin’ the idea too, especially since he and Iva had just gotten back together.
“Ain’t no way in hell are all y’all leaving my husband to work like a dog while everybody goes on Fonzo and Amina’s honeymoon.” Once again, Diva was speaking up for her man.
“I’m good, baby. These niggas ain’t my only employees. As long as Junior do his part before they leave, it’s all good.”
Hank always said that he wanted to learn the paperwork side of his business and, at one point, he did.
But, with time came change and the shit seemed intimidating at times.
Dash did everything on the computer and that only made it worse.
“Shit, just tell me when and where. Me and my wife stay ready,” Dash replied.
“Yay! Let me call my mama and tell her it’s a go.” Amina was excited.
And just like that, the mood turned from shit to sugar.
Everybody pitched in to get the rest of the food done, and they finished right as the guests started arriving.
Dot was happy to see her parents enjoying themselves with all their kids and grandkids.
The party ended at almost two in the morning, but nobody was complaining.
