Epilogue

Wren made a last pass around the formal sitting room, making sure everything was ready for their first media photoshoot since the birth, then paused at the windows, looking out at the sky doubtfully. ‘It’s going to rain,’ she said. ‘Dammit.’

A few months had passed since she’d been crowned Queen, though her coronation paled in comparison to what she viewed as her greatest achievement.

The birth of her and Isandro’s daughter, Cara.

A deep, calm voice came from behind her. ‘It’s not going to rain. And even if it does, we can change the venue.’

Wren turned from the window and smiled, a wave of love catching at her heart.

Her husband, looking extremely handsome in casual trousers and a blue shirt, was cradling the one-month heir to the kingdom.

She was staring up at him as if she’d never seen anything so fascinating in all her life, and he was staring down at her, obviously feeling the same way.

In fact, ever since her birth, Isandro had barely left Cara’s side. He wanted to involve himself in all aspects of her care, which was sometimes very annoying, especially when he pulled the king card. But Wren wasn’t complaining. She loved how involved he was with their daughter.

She loved him.

Isandro looked up suddenly and caught her staring at him. He smiled, full of love and affection and warmth, and Wren’s heart squeezed tight in her chest.

‘I love you,’ he said. ‘Just in case I hadn’t said it to you today.’

She smiled back, her heart full of sunshine. ‘I know. And you have.’

He told her he loved her every day.

And he continued to do so, for the rest of their lives.
