Chapter 24

Jasmine

Vi pulls the DRMC SUV into its usual parking space and I’m out the door before she’s even turned the engine off.

I just want to find my men and have a nap.

Easy stuff. Simple. I’m feeling a little better than I did earlier.

Anti-inflammatories and that sleep in really worked wonders, but I know that I’ll need to get another good night’s rest before school tomorrow.

I make my way to where they’re standing, brows pulling in when I see the look on their faces. “Hey, what’s wrong? Club business?”

“My bebés!” my mom calls out, waving her hand in the air.

“Mom?”

“Ah, yeah,” Zane clears his throat, throwing a look at Hayden.

“Oh hi, Mrs Davies!” Hayden says, giving mom a polite smile.

“None of that! You are family now. Isn’t that right, mi amor?”

“Yes, my love,” Dad nods once, his eyes flicking back and forth between Hayden and Zane.

Before I can turn to ask them why the heck my parents are here all three of us are swept into a hug by Mom, Dad hanging onto my mother awkwardly. She rocks us side to side a little before letting us go with a huge smile on her face.

“I really need to get this stuff inside. Mi Amor! Give me a hand,” she bosses, stalking toward her car, dad following at her heels.

Slowly I turn to look at my two men. Zane is purposely looking everywhere but at me, and Hayden seems to have found something incredibly interesting on his boot.

“Why are my parents here?” Looking around I notice both Moss and Lily are here too.

“Yeah, why are they here?” Moss asks, slinging his arm over my shoulder. I stare at him, and I know he’s up to something, but for once the whole twin thing isn’t working in my favor. It never does when Moss is being a sneaky shit.

“Well,” Zane says, blowing out a breath, “we kinda asked your family to be here so we could claim you as ours,” he grimaces.

“We just kinda forgot that it was today and we haven’t officially asked and now you’re all tired and sore and probably need to go to bed but now we have a big dinner that your mom has made and we hadn’t let Mama Debs know that she didn’t need to cook and -”

I press my fingers to Hayden’s lips, stopping his rambling. “I love that you invited my parents. Although it is kinda bad timing due to all the drama, but still, she’s here with food for my soul and once I’m all fat and happy I can go to bed early and snuggle with my two main men.”

“Ew, gross. I’m right here,” Moss groans, his head falling back on his shoulders.

I jab him in the ribs with my elbow. “And now you know what it was like for me to hear all the girls talk about how hot and good at sex you were.” I shudder.

“So good he stole my high school girlfriend,” Marx says, walking past with his arm slung over Lovely, Bee in his other arm.

“Yeah and look how well that worked out for me,” Moss mutters.

“Saved me a hell of a headache,” Marx says, barking out a laugh.

Moss fixes his gaze on me, then my men. “Am I ever gonna live down marrying that bitch?”

“Moss. You married a serial cheater who bitched about Mom’s cooking and left you with two newborns. You’re gonna have to put up with us giving you shit for the rest of your life.”

“Speaking of,” Nitro says, tipping his head towards Lily who is slowly trying to corral Heath and Reed toward their dad.

Moss fake growls at them before lifting them, one giggling toddler in each arm, then giving me a hip bump, “Move your ass inside, if we take too long these bikers will eat all Mom’s good food and leave us the crap that only Dad likes.”

“Shit, you’re right!” I start to speed walk as fast as my lupus legs will take me, which granted, isn’t very fast at the moment.

I let out a yelp when all of a sudden I’m swept off my feet, my arms automatically moving to latch around Hayden’s neck.

“Move fuckers,” Zane growls, trying to move the Tombs brothers out of our way, to get to the dining room.

As soon as we’re through the door Fox gently places me on my feet, dropping a kiss to my crown.

I grin up at him, then roll my lips between my teeth at the look on Zane’s face as he tries to keep Rider away from the table.

“What’s going on there?” I ask Hayden, tipping my head toward where Zane is now physically trying to block Rider.

Hayden groans, pulling my back to his chest so we can watch them. “Rider is a whore for Mexican.”

I burst into laughter when Rider bites Zane before bolting and Zane’s reaction is to kick his boot off and throw it at him. It narrowly misses Rider who swivels his hips at the last minute, moving his ass out of the way.

“Esas caderas dicen que sabes bailar.” Mom yells through the kitchen hatch at Rider, waggling her brows while Dad frowns over her shoulder and covers her eyes.

“What did your mom just say?” Hayden asks, looking between my parents and Rider.

“She said he had impressive hips and that he knew how to ‘dance’,” Zane answers in a bored tone, shoving his foot into his boot.

“How the hell does he know Spanish?” Fox mumbles.

“Aw yeah! See? Mama Flora can see talent and appreciate these hips!” Rider crows before he starts swiveling them for all to see.

Now, I’m happy with my two men, but watching Rider’s moves, I have to admit those hips are impressive.

“I bet you appreciate these moves, huh, ladies?” Rider says in a flirty voice, dancing a little too close to Mama Debs so Pops flicks him in the balls.

“Find your own woman!” Pops growls, a protective arm around Mama Debs.

“I’m trying! But everyone keeps snatching them up!” Rider whines.

My eyes dart to the girl gang to see if they’re thinking what I’m thinking. Judging by the sly smiles all around and Mira bouncing in her seat clapping, I’m guessing we’re all on the same page.

“Oh, oh, I know someone I can set you up with!” Mira says, hand up in the air the way my students hold theirs. “She’s suuuuuper pretty and really clever and has loads of cute hobbies.”

“Oh, really?” Rider asks, looking interested.

“Good, sort that shit later.” Marx says loudly.

“It’s been a helluva couple of days and Miss Flora has been kind enough to make dinner.

” His hard gaze moves around the table. “We will enjoy every last bite and be fucking respectful. No funny business.” Someone snorts but we all do as we’re told and take our seats, Marx staying standing until Mom sits down, Dad by her side.

Gazing around the table I’m amazed that this is happening.

A few short weeks ago I was single. Lonely.

Filling my days with school and crime documentaries.

Now I’m sitting eating a family dinner with my two, yes, count them, two boyfriends, their family and my family.

It’s crazy how things work when you open yourself up a little.

Zane’s warm hand drops to my thigh, giving it a little squeeze as he leans in. “I know,” he whispers.

Pulling back he holds my gaze. “Know what?” I whisper back.

“That it feels surreal that we’re here. That through whatever shit we’ve been through we’re here. With family and friends and the people we love.”

A soft smile tugs at my lips, because he’s right. Somehow, after months of knowing each other through my sister and the club, we’ve finally found ourselves where we were always meant to be.

“It’s perfect,” I whisper, pressing a soft kiss to his lips, then turning and doing the same to Hayden who raises a brow. “Just saying, this is perfect.”

“Yeah it is, babe. Utter perfection.”

As soon as the words leave Hayden’s mouth, banging on the door, hard enough to rattle the glass panes, sounds out before the door is kicked in and two deputies with guns raised walk in like they own the place.

“What the fuck?!” Marx yells, standing so abruptly his chair falls to the floor.

“Every one on the floor! Get down, get down!” one of the men yells, waving his gun around.

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing Deputy Norton?” My brother roars, looking more pissed than I’ve ever seen him.

The man hesitates when he lays eyes on Moss, then they widen when he spots Joy and her daughter sitting next to Switch.

“Everyone hands where I can see them! I need you all on the floor, hands behind your backs!” The other deputy yells, this one close enough for me to read his name: Ryan.

“We have children you fucking douche canoe!” Blanche growls.

He turns to face her, gun drawn, pointed directly at Blance who, instead of looking scared, looks even more pissed now. “On the floor, bitch, I won’t ask again.”

Blanche stares him down before complying, ushering the kids to her side. Tav nods at his Ol Lady from the other side of the table then swings his gaze to Ryan, looking ready to kill the man where he stands.

“Everyone on the fucking floor NOW!” Ryan’s buddy, Norton growls, seeming to have found his balls now. Not that it matters as the women start to move to the floor while the men stand their ground.

“Get on the floor, baby. It’ll be OK,” Zane says gently, taking my hand and guiding me to a spot on the floor. He runs his hand over my head before murmuring, “I’m gonna kill these fuckers.”

If he doesn’t then I’m sure mom will for ruining her dinner. Trying not to get the giggles at the thought I turn my head and my gaze catches on Chewy with a huge grin on her face. OK then, looks like things are going to get a little crazier.

Nitro

He’s going to die.

I don’t know who is going to kill him, but I know someone will.

“Office Ryan, can you tell me why the fuck you’re storming in here waving a gun around?” Moss barks and for the first time I can see why he was chosen as interim sheriff.

He always comes across as congenial, thoughtful, and pretty good at paperwork, so I figured he was given the position because of his admin skills. But it seems that under that laid back facade, he’s got a power to him that shocks me.

“I’ve come to arrest Sidney Tombs, on suspicion of murder in the first degree.” Ryan says, gun still in the air.

“Who did I murder?” Pops asks.

Better question may be who didn’t he murder. But I keep that to myself.
