Epilogue
Fox
“So you’re saying he’s in the wind?” Nitro growls, the rest of the men in church not happy either.
“So far, we can’t find anything on Hitchens at all.” Marx says, scrubbing his hand down his face. “The only upside is that the twins are safe and sound at the Keep with Vex, Loyal and the MC protecting them.”
“We have feelers out everywhere,” Wire says, back in his spot at Church. “Remy is training Theo and Jay on the dark web and they’ve heard things but not enough to pin down Thompson just yet either.”
“Won’t be long,” Chewy says in a bored voice. “Guys like him will just bide their time.”
“You think so?” Rhodie asks.
“I know so. It’s what I would do.”
“Hate to point this out Chewy, but you’re not an evil bastard with access to black market military grade tech along with women, kids and guns,” Blanche says.
“Who says I don’t have access to that kind of stuff?”
“Do you?”
“I’ll never tell,” Chewy cackles. It’s her new favorite stim.
“Fox, Nitro, did Moss say when you’re relieved from cop duty?” Tav smirks.
Fox lets out a sigh, “He asked Marx to free us up a little longer, until he makes sure the department is all good and gets some new blood in. Marx said yes.” Fox glares at Marx as Marx grins back.
“Right. So we got nothing other than Fox and Nitro get to play cops and robbers a little longer. Why did I call Church again?” Marx muses.
“No idea, but I’m starving and I can smell Miss Flora’s carnitas so let’s get outta here,” Chewy remarks, standing and moving toward the door.
After our last aborted attempt at a celebration for Jazz’s claiming we decided with Ryan and Norton outta the way we’d do it now. Thank fuck. I was getting antsy knowing our woman was walking around without our names on her back.
“Yeah fuck it, church closed.” Marx thumps his fist on the wall and I fly outta my seat, eager to get to our woman.
“Hold your horses, jeez, she ain’t going nowhere,” Rider bitches, but I don’t care.
I hold back my irritation as my gaze finds Jazz’s, through the bodies of my brothers blocking my path.
Namely Switch as he stops to quietly speak with Joy and Kit.
I’m not too sure what’s going on there, but I see the way she looks at him and after all the shit she’s been through I think she deserves someone like the Doc.
Stepping around them I move to swoop in on Jazz, swinging her into my arms before passing her off to Fox for the same treatment.
“Listen up fuu-um brothers, children, preggos, women and disabled first!” Rider shouts, trying to get to the table first, but getting a chancla from Miss Flora for the trouble.
“I can’t wait until he finds the one meant for him,” Jazz giggles, watching the chaos.
“Me neither, and I hope she gives him hell,” Fox adds.
“I have a bet running, see me later,” Jules says as he walks past.
“A bet huh?” Jazz asks, eyes twinkling, “did anyone bet on us?”
“Nah,” I say, pulling her into me, then reaching over for Fox, so we flank her, Jazz sandwiched between us. “They couldn’t. No one knew we were still missing a part of us. Only we knew that.”
“And then we found you,” Fox finishes.
“But wait, we’ve known each other for a while, moved in the same circles,.” she says, confused. “What took so long to know it was me you needed?” I love how she doesn’t say “wanted”. I’ve wanted her for a long time, but I never knew I needed her too.
“I always knew it was you,” Fox murmurs, looking over her head and catching my gaze, “I just needed Zane to be ready for you. For us.”
“And now he is,” she says, wrapping her arms around my waist, holding me tight.
“I love you,” I whisper, pressing a kiss to Jazz’s crown, then raising my head and capturing Hayden’s lips in a sweet kiss.
“And I love you,” he says back, then he stoops, turning Jazz’s face toward his, dropping a gentle kiss to the corner of her plump lips.
“We’re home,” Jazz whispers, pressing her lips to my chest, over my heart, then the same to Hayden.
“Home.”
