Chapter Fourteen
Neith
He shakes his head, “No, I don’t, but that’s not to say that you’re the only one who panics when they pack things, although I do think that your packing random objects that have nothing to do with where we’re going or what we’re doing, is very definitely a ‘you thing’.”
I don’t even pretend to get mad.
“Yeah, you’re probably right,” I reply.
Turning back to my closet, I leave the doors wide open so I can still talk to Griff while I sort through the mess that I left on the floor.
I’m really nervous about meeting Griff’s family. I’ve never really done that before, and I find myself really caring about whether they like me or not. Hence the nervous rambling.
“Okay, so I need some information,” I say.
Griff raises his eyebrow, “Oh?”
I nod, “Yeah, so what should I wear? For example, are your family all casual and laid back, or would it be better if I dressed up a bit?”
“What?” Griff asks, looking slightly confused.
I barrel on because that’s where I am at this point in my freakout.
“Also, what about cursing? Do I need to be careful not to curse as much? And are there any subjects that I shouldn’t bring up or anything that I should bring up?
” My eyes widen, “Shit, I should have asked you this ages ago, so I had proper time to prepare, and now I’m just going to look like an idiot. ”
Understanding crosses Griff’s features, and he stands up, striding into the closet and moving in front of where I’m standing, staring at the mess I’ve made and panicking.
His fingers move under my chin and lift my face so that I can meet his gaze. “Just be yourself, you’re perfect exactly how you are, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Trust me, they’re going to love you. How could they not?”
I melt. That was so fucking sweet.
I then do what any sane woman would do in this situation and launch myself at him. He doesn’t even stumble as he catches me in his arms and immediately lifts me up. My legs wrap around his waist as my hands grip his face, and tug lightly at his beard.
“You’re fucking awesome,” I say. “You know that? How did you even know that I was freaking out about that?”
He shrugs, “I didn’t, not really. Thank you for caring so much about my family.”
I frown, “Of course I care. They mean a lot to you, and you mean a lot to me, so of course your family is going to mean a lot to me, and I’m going to want to make a good impression.”
His lips meet mine in a heated kiss, and I can’t help but let out a small moan as his tongue tangles with mine. I love kissing Griff.
He rumbles, that’s the only way I can describe it, and it’s hot as fuck.
I don’t want to pack anymore. Packing is actually the furthest thing from my mind, and instead, I tug on his shirt.
“Off,” I mutter against his lips.
His lips turn up into a smirk as he lets me slide down his body and then whips off his shirt.
Fuck.
Griff is all golden skin and muscles upon muscles. Somehow, despite the fact that he is huge, he’s still managed to keep some definition, a lot of definition, and from my experience, those two things don’t tend to go hand in hand, although clearly it is possible.
I pull my shirt off, and wriggle out of my jeans because, quite frankly, I want his hands on me now, and clothes get in the way.
Plus, the whole undressing thing, I don’t care what the movies try to tell me, there is no way to really do that sexily.
At least there isn’t for me, I tend to get stuck in an item of clothing, or I fall over and end up on the floor in an unsexy heap.
It might just be a me thing, but it's just easier and safer if I take most of my clothes off myself.
Once I’m naked and Griff’s eyes are caressing my body in a way that I hope his hands are going to, I run and jump at him again, this time he’s not quite so prepared for my attack, and we end up sprawled on the floor.
I burst out laughing as I roll off him and lie on the floor next to him.
He props himself and looks down at me, a huge smile on his face as he leans down and kisses me, and his hand traces a soft path down my stomach.
My laughter immediately stops, and my back arches, as his tongue tangles with mine and his fingers circle my clit, applying just the right amount of pressure. My hand fumbles with his jeans until I get so fed up that I use my new favorite trick and burn them off.
No, it hasn’t escaped my notice that so far, what I have mostly done with my magic is because I want one of my men naked, and it’s not happening as quickly as I would like it to.
I mean, it’s a valid reason, I’m just not too sure that it should be the bulk of what I’m doing with my fire.
“That’s a neat way to use your magic,” Griff mutters against my lips and then lets out a hiss as my hand wraps around his dick.
His fingers plunge inside me as his lips meet mine in a heated kiss, and his other hand palms my boob, his fingers plucking expertly at my nipple. My hand moves, stroking his dick in time with his fingers, and I moan. I want him inside me so bad.
He obviously feels the same way because he rolls on top of me, never breaking the kiss, his dick nudges my entrance, and my hips lift, encouraging him, needing him.
He moves slowly, inch by delicious inch, as my pussy clenches around him until he’s finally in completely, and we both let out a moan of pleasure. He rocks his hips, and I lift mine to meet him as I hold him close, my nails digging into his shoulders.
We move faster, and he pulls back, grabbing my leg and staring down at me as we move together. He lifts me up as he sits back on his heels, so I’m straddling him, my hands weaving into his hair as I grind down, the position allowing me the perfect friction on my clit, and my orgasm building.
He brings me right to the edge, and then lifts me, spinning me around. I bend down, my ass in the air and my boobs on the floor as he palms my ass, and then smacks it, making me cry out with pleasure as my clit pulses and my pussy clenches with need.
He thrusts into me, the new angle hitting deeper, as he smacks my ass at the same time.
I see stars as he picks up his pace, and my orgasm crashes through me, pulling him along with me as he speeds up and calls out his own release while I ride out mine.
We move together slowly, enjoying the last few tingles of our orgasms, before I collapse on shaky legs and he catches me, pulling me into his arms.
“Next time, I promise I’ll take my time,” he mutters as he kisses me.
I scoff, “That was fucking awesome, but I’ll never say no to playing for longer.”
He smiles, “Come on, we don’t have much time to get down to lunch before we’ve got to go.”
“Shit,” I exclaim, as I jump up. “I still haven’t packed, and now I’m all sweaty.” I smirk at a still deliciously naked Griff, “You want to come shower with me?”
“Obviously,” Griff says as he jumps to his feet and throws me over his shoulder, smacking my ass as he heads out of the closet and into the bathroom.
“Careful, you do that, and I’m going to want to go for round two even more, and we definitely don’t have time for that,” I warn him with a smirk as I bite his back since it’s the only place that I can reach right now.
He pauses in the doorway to the bathroom.
“Are you okay?”
He nods, “Yeah, I’m just weighing up the options, unfortunately, I think you may be right.”
I chuckle as he puts me down and kisses me.
“Yep, I usually am,” I reply teasingly.
He shakes his head and smiles as he reaches behind me and turns the shower on.
It turns out that we both have less self-control than we thought we did because we end up having a quicky in the shower, which means that I do end up panic packing.
I mean, Griff helps, but he pretty much just grabs handfuls of clothes out of each drawer and stuffs them in the bag, so fuck knows what he’s actually packing. At this point, I’m just glad that I’m going to have some clothes to wear.
Grabbing the almost full bag and stopping him from adding a load of dresses that I definitely won’t be wearing in Scotland, in the winter. I head out to my chest of drawers that I keep in the main part of my room and throw a load of underwear in the bag too, before I finally zip it up.
“Alright, I have no idea what I’ve got in here, but I won’t be walking around naked, so that’s a win,” I announce as I turn back around to face Griff.
“A win for who?” He replies.
I raise my eyebrow, “Do you want all of your clan to see me naked?”
A dark look crosses his face, “Absolutely fucking not.”
“Well, then there we go, it’s a win for everyone,” I point out with a smirk.
“Fine,” he admits with a smile. “Come on, I can smell food, and I am absolutely starving. We’ll be lucky if the others have left us anything.”
I pull a face, “They wouldn’t dare eat it all.”
Griff gives me a look, and I panic, grabbing my bag and sprinting through the house.
As I get to the top of the stairs, House, sensing my urgency, changes the steps into a slide.
Which would be more awesome if I weren’t already on the top step and were, you know, prepared to have the stairs disappear from underneath me. I squeak as my ass hits the slide and I somehow manage to keep a hold on my bag as Griff howls with laughter, wisely staying at the top.
When I get to the bottom, I don’t bother to yell at House for the surprise, it got me down here quicker than I would have gotten down here if I had used the stairs, so instead I literally launch my bag on top of the pile of bags at the bottom of the stairs, as I jump up off the floor, the slide turning back into stairs as soon as I’m up, and then I start running again.
I careen around the corner and then through the door to the kitchen, making everyone look up at me with surprise.
“Whoa, what’s the rush?” Baz asks.
Breathing heavily, because apparently, I need to work out more, and panic running makes me breathless, I reply in a somewhat convoluted explanation, “I thought you guys were going to eat all of the food.”
“Of course not,” Van replies, looking slightly confused as his eyebrows draw down.
Griff chooses that moment to walk through the door behind me, completely casual and not rushing at all, with a pleased smile on his face.
“You ass,” I grin as I realize that he was winding me up.
He chuckles, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you panic like that before, and we’ve been in some pretty dicey situations.”
I grab the first thing that I can reach on the table, which just so happens to be a bread roll, and launch it at his head. He, of course, catches it and takes a massive bite, grinning as the others fall about laughing, obviously having caught on to what’s going on.
I can’t hide my smile as I take my seat and load up my plate with all manner of food.
I like hearing their laughter even if it is directed at me.
“So, did you get everything that you needed packed?” Van asks, once everyone has calmed down, and they are eating.
I nod, “Yeah, I’m pretty sure I did. We’ll find out when we get there.” Before anyone can comment, I grin, “Did you guys know that House can turn the stairs into a slide?”
River’s head snaps up, “No fucking way.” He looks between Raiden and Coen, and as one, they all get up with huge grins on their faces, their grins widening as Baz stands up as well.
“What? I want a go,” Baz exclaims with an absolutely adorable smirk.
All four of them rush out of the room, completely abandoning their food, and the rest of us share a smile as we hear shouts of happiness coming from the direction of the stairs. I’m assuming that means that House turned them into a slide for the guys.
“You guys are definitely going to have to try that,” Raiden grins as they come back in moments later.
“Sure, I will. When we get back from seeing the gargoyles,” Reed replies with a grin.
It doesn’t take us long to eat, and as we all make our way to the bottom of the stairs where we all dumped our bags, I can’t help but glance down the hallway that leads to the side of the house where Zephyr is in the basement.
We’re going to be gone for a couple of days at least, and he’s going to be all alone again.
I should have apologized to him when I got the chance.
For some reason, I really don’t like the thought of him being alone here, and I know that it doesn’t make much sense because I’m pretty sure that he’s been alone here for a really long time, possibly since before I even came here, which is weird to think about.
But because he’s been here for so long, he’s probably used to being alone.
Actually, scratch that, I think I remember Ethel saying that it was a fairly recent thing, because of the whole being hunted thing. I’m going to have to fact-check that at some point. I think I would prefer it if it were a more recent thing.
