2. Zachary
CHAPTER 2
ZACHARY
JUST OVER THREE MONTHS EARLIER…
“I still can’t believe Middleton is allowing fraternities again,” I said, pulling up to the newly-renovated Kappa Omega Kappa house.
“You thought you were safe from being a member of KΩK!” I could hear the snicker in Teo’s voice. Little did he know that I found the innuendo secretly delightful.
“We’re not all meathead jocks like you.” I punched his shoulder for good measure, but I’m sure he didn’t feel it. How could he with those biceps?
Mateo Decker, or Teo as his friends called him, was the star of the Middleton soccer team. He was the star of every soccer team he had ever been on, and I couldn’t even begin to count the amount of balls he kicked past me through the years as I pretended to be a goalie.
Those weren’t the balls I was interested in, but he didn’t have a clue.
Teo was recruited as a first year and immediately earned a spot on the starting roster. By the end of the season, he was the team’s second highest scorer. That’s how good he was.
And everybody loved him, not just me .
“Hey, I promised your folks I’d look out for you.”
“I don’t need you to do that.” I put my Jeep Gladiator in park.
Teo shrugged. “Not a lot to worry about anyway. We’re legacies and we’re second years. We get a free pass! It’s the first years that are gonna need to watch their asses,” Teo said, hopping out.
“Not to mention you were appointed the vice president,” I added, climbing out to meet him around the back. “Couldn’t you have gotten your own room?”
“What’s wrong, Zach?” Teo paused, his hand on the back door handle. “I thought you wanted to room together.”
“Well, yeah. I just–”
“I didn’t want you stuck with some rando especially after we didn’t get to room together last year. Plus, I’ve seen our room and it’s amazing. It’s everything I wanted for us. You’ll love it!” Teo squeezed my shoulder and I couldn’t help but feel reassured at the touch. His crystal blue eyes piercing mine had nothing to do with it either.
Teo’s optimism was infectious. It’s one of the reasons our friendship was so strong, opposites and all that. The fact that our dads were best friends and met at the same fraternity thirty years ago probably helped too.
“I got word from Liam that all our furniture was delivered yesterday. We just have to put it together.”
That was the reason we didn’t have a moving truck this year. KΩK's alumni raised so much money to remodel the house, there was more than enough left over to furnish all the rooms, and apparently still have enough left to start a decent house fund.
That was Middleton for you, and I wasn’t complaining.
My dad had made some good connections here and that’s part of what made his eco-friendly landscaping business a huge success. That, and perfect timing.
“Decker!”
I turned toward the house to see who was using Teo’s last name in typical bro fashion .
“Hey, Liam. This is Zach.”
“Another legacy, sure, sure.” Liam held his hand out and I obliged with what turned into a bro hug – a half-hug, half-handshake combo. I was sure I’d have to get used to that.
“What are you guys doing? No, no, no.” Liam whistled, loudly. “We already have pledges for that. First years got here last week for orientation. By the way, Decker, you’re the last officer to arrive. Cabinet meeting tonight. You like tequila, right?”
Teo nodded, looking all officious and not at all like himself, but I was soon distracted by the small horde of shirtless young men, dressed only in pink lace panties, that emerged from the side door of the massive colonial that was to be our home. I tried not to stare, but some of them were not at all contained by the small garment. The muscles were also…distracting.
“I see you’ve been busy already,” Teo said.
“Damn straight.”
This is the least straightest thing I’ve seen all day.
“New rules means modified rush,” Liam explained. “Take everything in the Jeep up to the third floor, east wing, room twelve.”
We hadn’t brought much, and despite what Liam said, I grabbed a box myself as did Teo. There were enough scantily clad pledges that it only took one trip.
“Do you need some help putting your furniture together, sir?”
My dick stiffened at the last word, especially once I saw the twink the words were coming from, but he was looking at Teo and not me.
“No, thank you…”
“Malik,” the tan-skinned, drop dead gorgeous youth answered with a smile.
“Malik. I’m Mateo, that’s Zach. We’ll see you around, yeah?”
“Most definitely.”
And then we were alone in our palace. There was even a spiral staircase that led to who knew where. All of it just for us .
“What's up there?” I asked.
“Your reading tower,” Teo answered.
“ My reading tower? You didn’t say we were living in a mansion.”
Teo shrugged. “I didn’t know it was quite this big but I don’t care, it’s awesome!” he yelled, pulling me in for a hug. “Let’s get to work on our furniture.”
“There’s not much left, actually.” I had just noticed a lot of it was already made.
A half hour later, I was sick of pushing my sweaty hair out of my face. Teo was seemingly just as warm.
“Dude, Vermont is supposed to be cold. It’s hot as fuck!” Teo had taken off his shirt after he finished his desk and it may have slowed me down.
I suffered, keeping my clothes on. “It is August.”
“I’m done for now. You want some help?” Teo asked.
“Nah, I’m almost done. Thanks.”
“Okay, I’m gonna take a shower.”
A few minutes later, my bed frame was done and the mattress slid perfectly into place. And I had to piss like a racehorse. I pushed open the bathroom door and there was Teo’s naked body.
Fuck.
“Hey, man. No curtain yet.”
“I can see that.”
“Not sure we need one. Just something else to clean, right?”
I quickly made my way across the room to the–
“Urinals? And a jacuzzi tub?” I stepped up, pulled my waistband down and– “Uhhhhh.”
“That good, huh?” Teo had walked up behind me. A glance told me he was drying off. “I think the urinals are cool. Makes sense. We’re all dudes.” He gave my ass a slap and thank God, I was almost done. Pissplay was a fantasy of mine, but it did not involve me standing at a urinal doing it to myself.
Teo wasn’t bashful about his body, and it was easy to see why. It was the main reason my dick liked him so much – dark brown coiffed hair, seemingly permanent scruff, two plump pectorals accompanied with their own patch of brown hair, eight abdominals dusted in just the right amount of fuzz, the perfect V stomach, which led down to a cut dick of undetermined size. I had never seen it erect. Also, his ass was like a shelf. Seriously. In his soccer shorts, it was almost offensive how much it popped out. It was probably all that running.
Buns of bronze.
“Don’t stand there too long, handsome. I’ll think you’re jacking it.”
That pulled me out of my reverie, so I shoved my dick back in my shorts and walked across the room to wash my hands. Double sinks. I waited a few seconds, hoping Teo would be clothed by the time I got back to the room.
Thankfully, he was.
“I’m gonna find Liam. You good here?”
“Yes, Mateo. I can be on my own without you for more than a few minutes.”
“Aw.” He came up behind me and squeezed me, inadvertently grinding into my ass. “It’s cute you think you can live without me.”
“I’ll be counting down the seconds.”
Teo let go of me. “Whoa, bro. You need a shower.” He waved his hand in front of his nose, and I pushed him out the door.
I wanted to finish unpacking and get everything set up. Instead, I finished exploring the room.
Somebody in charge of things was definitely organized. There was a small binder on my bookshelf with all sorts of data – the wifi network and password, how to special order any groceries, the social calendar for the month. That kind of stuff .
The door to our room was on my side. There was a coat rack, a microwave and fridge all by the entryway. The southeast corner of the room was mine, complete with a huge closet, dresser, bed and desk. Teo had the opposite corner, though our beds almost met in the middle of the room. Like they were sixty-nining. He had all the same furniture, though it was a different style from mine – a black industrial look instead of white wood. I assumed it was because he asked for it.
Climbing the spiral staircase, which was between Teo’s desk and our couch, I decided I was definitely going to be using the reading tower – it was completely filled with comfy pillows and cushions. If I had to guess, whoever designed it had known I liked reading. Since no one had asked me, it had to be Teo.
The southwest corner of the room was the living space. Besides the large couch, there was an oval coffee table, a flatscreen hanging on the wall, and a couple of large plants, which I would be taking care of. Teo’s video game systems were in disarray on the floor, but I didn’t want to mess anything up so I left them alone.
It was time to follow Teo’s advice and shower so I stripped, tossed my clothes in my hamper and headed into the bathroom. I grabbed a towel from the already stocked linen closet – where there were two colors of everything, purple for me and red for Teo. He must’ve done that too.
Turning on the water, I had to agree – adding a shower curtain would ruin the vibe. It felt like a locker room which was kind of hot. And while we hadn’t showered together before, Teo didn’t seem to care. I could totally not care too, right?
I was lost in soaping my body up, when I heard, “Fuck, that's a dick! I mean, sorry. Shit!”
I rinsed my face off and opened my eyes to see Malik, holding his hands over his eyes and standing in our bathroom. It seemed closed doors weren’t a deterrent. At least for this first year.
“I was looking for Mateo.”
“He’s with Liam, I think.” I assumed from his earlier interest in Teo and his apparent affinity for my dick that Malik was gay, or at least, bi. It couldn’t hurt to have another friend. Wasn’t it brotherly of me to take a younger guy under my wing? “We can hang out if you want.”
“Really?” Malik dropped a hand to look at me. His eyes diverted downward again, and one hand moved to shield his crotch.
He’s probably throwing a bone.
“Yeah, I mean, not here in the shower. Let me finish up and get dressed.”
“Su-sure thing.”
Malik was cute, and Teo was straight. It was probably time to accept that.
