CHAPTER 18

ZACHARY

“How’s it taste?”

I thought about it for a second. “Not too bad, actually.” In all honesty, it tasted better than mine.

“Good. It worked.”

“What worked?”

“The pineapple juice I drank,” Teo answered.

“You’re joking.”

He shook his head. “Nope. I’ll have to make a habit of it. You want to untie me so I can take care of you?”

“Maybe later.”

“You’re going to leave me here?”

“Not what I meant.” I reached for the belt and pulled it off the hook, then unbuckled it, freeing his wrists. “You’ve taken care of me twice. I still owe you one.”

“Um, I’m new to sex with a guy, but even I know that’s not how it works. We’re not keeping score.” Teo arched his back, so he could pull his sweatpants back up.

“Okay”–I held my hands up in apology–“I just don’t want to take advantage of you. ”

Teo rolled his eyes. “You don’t need to protect me. I’m a big boy. Well, not as big as you.”

That was true, but I thought his dick was beautiful. It certainly fit into my mouth perfectly.

“Size doesn’t matter,” I said.

“I’ll be the judge of that.” Teo leaned forward and stole another kiss, though I wasn’t convinced of his opinion. Despite his confidence, I was going to do my best to take things slow. He might not need protection, but he didn’t need to be rushed either.

“I told Evan about us today.”

“And it went well?” God, I hoped it had.

“Oh yeah. He’s, uh…I’m not sure if I should say anything, but he’s bisexual, so…”

“Does anyone else know about him?”

Teo shook his head.

“I wouldn’t tell anyone else. It’s his business.”

“Oh I know that.” He grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers. “It’s not like he told me not to tell you. He knows we’re inseparable. And it’s not like he’s going to tell everyone about us.”

“Okay, okay.” Teo laid his head in my lap and I started stroking his hair. “Did he say if he was seeing anyone?”

Teo smirked. “He said it was complicated.”

“That can’t be good.”

With a shrug, he said, “We don't have to talk about Evan all day, Zach. What are we going to do the rest of the afternoon?”

“I think they're showing Clue tonight in Miller Auditorium.”

“Is that a movie?”

“How do you not know Clue ? It's one of my favorite movies.”

Teo shrugged. “I always fall asleep when we watch a movie.”

“I'll just get you hopped up on sugar and caffeine then so you have to see the whole thing.”

“Can we run to the CVS in town? I’m in the mood for peanut butter cups. ”

“I knew I put my snow tires on last week for a good reason,” I said. “Of course I can take you to get your peanut butter cups.”

Teo smiled and took a deep breath. Staring down at him, I couldn’t believe my luck. I could look at him as much as I wanted to now and I didn’t need to worry about getting caught or seeming creepy. Teo was my boyfriend now. I was supposed to stare at him.

“Well, I can’t drive us into town with you half in my lap.”

“What time does the movie start?” Teo asked.

“I think it was seven.”

Teo looked at his smartwatch, then fiddled with it for a minute. “Let’s take a nap instead,” he said, pulling one of the blankets over us. “I set an alarm. We can drive into town to get our snacks then go to the movie.”

I wasn’t going to argue with that plan.

“I’m sad that Mr. Green wasn’t actually gay” was the first thing Teo said when we left the auditorium after the movie.

“Why is that?”

“In spite of the few moments where it was used for jokes, he seemed fairly accepted for a movie from the eighties set in the fifties, or whenever it was. I forget.”

“So you liked it?”

Teo nodded. “I can see why it’s one of your favorites. You remind me of Mrs. White sometimes, especially when you get angry.”

I wasn’t going to argue with that. He was right. “Just remember what she did to her husbands the next time you test my patience.”

“Husbands?!”

Shit. I didn’t mean to-

“Just teasing, Zach. You have to ask me to marry you first.”

I laughed, but it was a little forced. Teo was too comfortable with everything and I couldn’t help but think this was all going to come screeching to a halt at some point. He told Evan, but what about the whole frat…or his parents?

You haven’t even told your parents.

That was true.

“You’ve gone quiet,” Teo said before grabbing my hand. “What are you thinking about?”

I glanced around. There weren’t many people near us. “Sorry, I need to pee.”

I had no idea why I lied, but I was spiraling.

How was Teo the calm one about our relationship and I was panicking about a little comment about being husbands and some public hand-holding?

“Well, now that you said it, I have to as well.” Teo pulled me back towards the entrance to Miller.

“It’s ‘cause it’s cold out.”

Of course, standing next to Teo at the urinal, I couldn’t pee. I was thankful he didn’t draw attention to it. Instead, I listened to his forceful stream, which was a slight turn-on–delaying my piss even longer–then he washed his hands, said he’d wait outside, and left.

As soon as I was alone, everything worked. I washed my hands quickly and found him leaning against the wall outside.

“All set?”

I nodded. “Yup.”

“You know, for someone who’s had his dick in my mouth, it’s cute that you can’t pee in front of me.”

I stopped in my tracks.

“Wow. For once, Zach Cavallo is speechless.”

“It’s just”–Teo slipped his arm around mine and I let him lead the way to the doors–“I’m still in shock at how at ease you are with us.”

“As boyfriends?”

I nodded, bracing myself for cold winter air, which reminded me to remote start the Jeep.

“I don’t know what to tell you, Zach. We’ve been friends our whole lives. I told you at the beginning of the year, I never felt a connection with the girls I’d been with. It’s why I felt uncomfortable sleeping with them.”

We had reached the Jeep, so he dropped my arm and jogged to the other side.

“Is it that much of a stretch to take our already close relationship and add a physical component?”

He had a point. “Well, when you put it like that, it sounds so simple.”

“There you have it. On a side note, thank you for starting the car and the heated seats. My buns like to be toasted.” Teo put his hand on my thigh. “How about you just relax and enjoy having your best friend as your boyfriend? Can you do that for me?”

I hoped he was as eager when he had my dick in his ass. Of course I wasn’t going to say that, but the idea made me smile. He interpreted that as acceptance of what he just said and kissed me as a result.

“I don’t know if I’ll ever get enough of that,” he said.

“It’s a good thing we’re roommates then. You can have as much of me as you want.”

I pulled out of the parking lot and headed west through campus. Greek row was on the far side. It was almost nine on a Sunday night and below freezing; there weren’t many students crossing the road and in a few minutes, we were home.

“Before we go inside, I have a question.”

I turned to look at Teo. His expression was serious and I tried to stay calm. I had no idea what was about to come out of his mouth.

“I want to tell more people about us. Our brothers to start.”

“Are you sure? It’s only been a matter of days.”

“I don’t see the point in hiding, but if I tell them about us then I’m outing you. I don’t want to rush you if you’re not ready. ”

“I’m ready.”

It was strange that he seemed willing to be passive in the bedroom, but was eager to take the lead in other matters. But the more I thought about it, it was just who Teo was.

Straightforward. Outgoing. Proud.

“Good.”

“We could tell the twins first,” I suggested.

“Excellent,” he said, practically beaming. “Oh, one more question. Your bed or mine tonight?”

We didn’t make it one room into the house before we bumped into Aiden.

“You two look cozy.”

“Yeah-”

“We’re boyfriends. Wanna fight about it?” Teo nearly yelled.

Not exactly how I would’ve approached it, but upon further consideration it was one hundred percent Teo.

“About time. This one’s”–Aiden poked me in the chest–“been pining after you all semester.”

“Shut up!” I punched his arm almost as hard as I could and got no reaction, which wasn’t a surprise. His bicep was three times the size of my fist.

“Pining you say?”

I gathered the courage to make eye contact with Teo. The look on his face was a mixture of happiness and smarm and if I wasn’t in love with him, I’d have been a brat and stormed off or something else equally as dramatic.

“Hey, take it easy on my boy.” My boy? “Can’t blame a guy for having good taste. Jocks are hot. Where were you guys anyway? It’s freezing out there.”

“At Miller, they were showing Clue ,” Teo answered for us.

“Wow. Date night already. This is serious. ”

“Good night, Aiden,” I said, dragging Teo toward the stairs.

“Don’t keep the whole house up tonight!” he called after us. “I like to use a ball gag with the loud ones!”

When we were alone and almost in our room, Teo stopped us. “You’re not mad at me, are you? I really wanted to tell someone and it just came out like that.”

“I’m not mad. A little surprised if I’m being honest.”

“You need to always be honest with me.”

“It was very blunt. I don’t want to tell our parents like that.”

“Oh God, no! I knew Aiden would be fine with it.”

“How?”

“He got wasted at a kegger last year and mauled this twink in front of everybody. When someone asked him about it later, he shrugged and said, ‘Any hole’s a goal’, so uh…yeah.”

“I hadn’t heard that story, but if it was in front of everyone then it’s probably safe to assume no one here will have an issue with us.”

“They’d be foolish to voice it if they did. Half of the officers are queer.”

Teo unlocked our door and held it open for me. As soon as we were inside, he slammed it shut, pushed me up against it and kissed me.

After a few seconds, he pulled back. “I’ve wanted to do that all night.”

“You can kiss me in public, you know?”

“We’re not completely out yet. I didn’t-”

“Just now I decided I wouldn’t mind.”

“What prompted the one-eighty? I thought we weren’t being blunt?”

“Your tongue convinced me.”

“Do you want a shower together before bed?”

“Do you need to ask?” I hung my jacket on the coat rack and pulled my shirt over my head.

We left a trail of floor clothes on the way to the bathroom.
