4. Khalif #3
With a nod, I moved forward in the line.
The valet attendant opened my door, and I gave him my name.
Walking around to open Tahli’s door, I wished my dick would calm down.
It was harder than steel, and I had at least another two and a half hours before I could slide up in her.
My sex drive was very healthy. But when I wasn’t serious with anyone, I tried to keep it at bay.
Having sex with the same woman too frequently had the tendency to activate her heart strings.
Having sex with too many women was dangerous as fuck.
Before Tahli, I was having sex an average of three times a month which I hated.
Since having the pleasure of penetrating her, I wanted it daily, but I didn’t want to come off too strong.
Prior to me finding out about her extracurricular activities, Tahli checked all my boxes. I didn’t want to rush, but for the most part, she was someone I could see myself with. Fraud would have to be a thing of the past, however.
With Tahli’s hand in mine, we walked toward the entrance of the restaurant.
What I saw when I walked in made my steps halt.
Tahli saw it too because her grip on my hand got a little tighter.
Cursing under my breath, I observed Nook standing behind some unsuspecting female with his arms wrapped around her waist as they waited to be seated.
Without reservations, they would be there for a minute, and Nook knew that.
He brought a date to the same restaurant where Sheniah was having her dinner, so she could see him, and that was a bitch move.
Heartbreak could do a number on a person because never in all my years of knowing him had I ever seen Nook behaving like a lame.
Nook looked over and saw me staring. “What up, bro? Oh shit, this the restaurant the dinner is at?” he played dumb, and I scoffed at him.
Ignoring his greeting, I told the hostess who we were there for, and she led me and Tahli to Sheniah’s table.
“Damn, Khalif. Tahli. It’s like that? Y’all act like I’m shit on the bottom of your shoe.”
We both ignored Nook while following the hostess. I could practically feel the heat radiating off Tahli’s body, and I was shocked but relieved that she didn’t punch Nook in the face. She was fuming, and I could only imagine the state that Sheniah was in if she had already seen Nook.
When we arrived in the back room, there were about four people already present including Sheniah.
I could tell by the slight frown on her sister’s face as she spoke to Sheniah that she had seen Nook.
Sheniah turned her head in our direction, and I could tell that she’d been crying. A deep sigh pushed from my throat.
“Hey,” she stood up and walked over to me and Tahli. She was trying to act normal, but I could see the sadness in her eyes.
“What’s wrong?” Tahli asked giving her a hug.
“Girl, that bitch ass Nook and so”
“I saw it,” Tahli cut her friend off. “I just wanted to make sure that’s what it was because if you hadn’t seen them, I wasn’t going to tell you.
Fuck him, Sheniah. That nigga is mad because you’re not sad and miserable behind him.
He’s acting like a straight bitch trying to get underneath your skin.
Don’t let him win.” Tahli whipped her head in my direction.
“And yes, I’m talking about your hoe ass friend. ”
My eyes widened. “Shorty, I don’t care,” I assured her. “That shit was lame and out of pocket. You see I didn’t even speak to him.”
“Better not had,” she mumbled, and Sheniah giggled.
“I did shed a few tears because he’s the one that wanted to leave, so I don’t know why he’s going out of his way to bother me, but you’re right.
Everyone has been right. Nook is miserable as hell, and that’s not my problem.
He wanted to be single, so he can do what he wants with who he wants.
I was in denial at first, but breaking up was the best thing for us.
I’m at peace. I really am. If he wanted to make me jealous, I promise it didn’t work. ”
“I know that’s right,” Tahli declared.
We sat down, and I was glad Sheniah wasn’t letting Nook’s stunt ruin the night.
Nook must have gotten the message because the dinner went off without a hitch, and when we left the restaurant, he was nowhere to be found.
Tahli was tipsy sitting in the passenger seat singing along to the songs that were playing.
She was in control of the music, and the songs were going from Keith Sweat to Cardi B.
Shorty appeared to be in a good mood, and I loved that for the both of us.
At my place, we got comfortable on the couch, and Tahli scratched at my scalp with her nails. “Who twists your hair?”
“I go to a shop downtown. There’s like four chicks in there. I prefer Nina, but if she’s booked up then I let Sophie do them.”
“Hmmmm,” Tahli hummed making me chuckle.
“What does that mean?”
“Next time you need a retwist, I got you.”
“I didn’t know you twisted locs.”
“I don’t, but if I can teach myself to install a wig, I can teach myself to twist locs.”
A cocky grin lifted my lips. “Let me find out you don’t want anybody else doing my hair.”
Tahli straddled me with a cocky grin of her own. “I can’t tell you what to do. I’m just saying if my free isn’t better than theirs then feel free to go back and give them your money.”
Tahli’s dress had risen above her ass cheeks, so I gripped her ass like I was holding two basketballs. “You got my dick so fuckin’ hard, man.” I groaned.
With a simper, Tahli leaned in and snaked her tongue into my mouth. After a deep, sensual kiss, I scooted to the edge of the couch still holding her by her ass and stood up. Taking her into my bedroom, I knew for sure that I could get used to her being around.
