15. Tess
TESS
I couldn’t will myself to move.
Clutching my stomach, I held still as I listened to my three captors' heavy footsteps moving away from my door.
My forehead scrunched together as I looked around the bedroom. A mid-century headboard with a row of walnut-wood spindles shaped like bottle necks sat at the center of the room. A matching set of nightstands rested on either side of the bed.
A low, six-drawer dresser was pressed up against the wall. And floor-to-ceiling multipaned windows faced out to Feverpoint amusement park and the small town of Valemont beyond.
Most of the view was pitch black, only a few lights twinkling down in town.
The sky was just starting to lighten, shifting from an abyss to a dark indigo as the sun began to rise.
I need sleep.
I was so exhausted I wasn’t sure if any of this was even real. Maybe I’d fall asleep and wake up on someone’s couch.
But I was still breathless, still shocked by what Blade had done to me.
Stunned by the throbbing between my legs that felt like aftershocks.
I’d been soaked, completely and utterly ready for her to have me.
What the fuck is going on? And why do I like it?
I never would have admitted it to the clowns that had trapped me in their twisted maze of a park. But there was no denying that I liked the thrill of the hunt, the hope of winning money and the fear that came with being caught.
I should’ve been ashamed of myself. What a feminist, liking being hunted through the woods like some animal.
But these three women were something else. Stunning. Jacked. Terrifying.
Would they try to take me like that outside of the hunts?
I’d played my role in the hopes that they might take my example. Though, if I’d pieced anything together about Nash, Cyrus, and Blade in the last few hours, it was that they were beyond rules.
Whatever they had going on here, they had created their own code of honor.
Am I safe?
I took a step forward, peeking out the window.
Could I survive a two story drop?
Moving back to the door, I clicked the lock into place. I was almost certain that they would have a key somewhere in the house. But at least the door was metal, heavy. It would take a fucking Terminator to break the door in.
A shiver ran down my spine as I pictured it. The three of them — Cyrus in particular — weren’t far enough off. They were huge, covered in tattoos and muscles bigger than my fucking face.
I was outnumbered. Completely alone.
No one knew where I was.
Trying to shake the thought, because there was nothing I could do about it now that I was locked in their house, I moved toward the bathroom door.
The polished concrete floors were continuous. As were the walls. But here, the brick was more present. A dark, sleek vanity floated on the wall.
A standing tub sat near the windows with the same view as the bedroom.
From the wall, a black showerhead came out of the wall, not a glass wall or door in sight. Just a drain at the center of the room.
Approaching the sink, I looked in the backlit, round mirror over the vanity. My makeup was smeared, my skin smudged with dirt. Twigs and leaves rested in my bleach blonde nest of hair.
“Jesus.” I shook my head as I started to pick the pieces from my scalp.
I hadn’t caught a glimpse of myself since I left Lola’s place a couple days ago. And wow. It made me question Blade’s sanity. How could she possibly want to fuck me when I looked like such a fucking mess?
Because she’s a sick fucking freak.
Turning on the shower, I let the water get hot. Once it was close to boiling my flesh clean off the bone, I hopped in.
A moan echoed off the walls as I felt the high-pressure showerhead beat into my back.
A hot shower was already a luxury I was rarely afforded. Most of the couchsurfing I did was between trailers and forgotten apartments where the rent was too cheap to complain.
This place is fucking nice.
Wiping the makeup from my face with whatever face cleanser was in the shower niche, my mind begged for a reason that these three could be living here.
None of it made sense. If the other two were as attractive as Blade, they had no need to hunt women to get laid. And if this apartment, Cyrus’ watch, and the cash prize they’d offered me was anything to go off of, they could have lived anywhere.
Why here?
I couldn’t make sense of it, even as my eyelids grew heavy in the steamy shower.
Cleaning myself off, I felt the slick pleasure between my legs, what was left of Blade’s night with me, dripping down my leg.
I groaned as I felt it on my hands. Wiping it away, I couldn’t stop myself from moaning. I was still sensitive, my body still wanting more.
Maybe it was just the luxury bathing experience.
Yeah, it’s that.
My hand wandered back to my pussy, my head rolling back as I explored my hard clit. Blade had barely needed to touch me before I felt myself throbbing for her.
To be fair, it had been a long time since I came. It wasn’t the easiest to touch yourself while sleeping on someone’s couch.
And the sex I had with men was less than satisfactory.
I’d always wanted to fuck a woman. I fantasized about it plenty, but never got the chance to until now.
Sure, I knew that I was attracted to girls. I’d even kissed a few. But making out drunk while her boyfriend cheered on by the bonfire was so different from Blade’s touch, the feeling of her pierced lip on my skin…
“Fuck.” I whimpered as I pressed my finger in my folds, letting my pleasure soak them.
Rolling my head back, the water dripped down my chest.
I rubbed harder, faster as images of Blade’s long strap slipping into my center came rippling back. She was the perfect size, filling me without stretching. I’d taken her so easily, the force of her thrusts making room for herself.
“Oh…” Moaning, I let my head rest against the concrete as I pressed into my hard clit.
In a matter of seconds, my body began to stutter, shaking on my hands as I came again.
Gritting my teeth, I breathed out my orgasm. “Fuck.”
When I was done, I washed my hand, cleaned off my legs again and turned off the water.
A fresh towel rested on the shelf.
Wrapping myself up, I made my way back to the bedroom. All I had was the dirty, sweaty clothes I’d worn. I draped them over a leather chair in the corner, hoping they’d air out enough to be okay to wear in the morning.
I’d washed out my underwear in the shower, letting them drip dry off the faucet.
Besides, maybe my three captors would have something I could borrow in the morning.
Staring at the bed at the center of the room, I hesitated to get in it. It was rare for me to sleep in a real bed. Let alone anything bigger than a twin mattress that could be pressed up against every wall in the room.
But this king-sized bed looked plush, the sheets perfectly crisp.
If I let myself sleep there, would I become too used to it? How hard would it be to adjust back to springs in my back?
I could feel the aching in my body, the exhaustion setting in as my stomach growled.
I wasn’t going out there. Not tonight. Not while Blade still had a claim to me.
Bed it is.
Letting out a breath, I peeled back the duvet and slipped under the top sheet.
“Oh, fuck.” I moaned as I slipped my feet into the bed, letting my back sink into the mattress.
Sleep was eager to take over, quieting my racing mind.
One thought managed to persist. I didn’t know how often we would do these Fright Nights. But I knew that I needed to win. And fast before I ended up joining this circus.
