Chapter 10
Free
I can’t stop thinking about what Addison did last night. I can’t believe she actually did it with no drugs in her system. Tonight is going to be interesting when she does have them. I can’t wait to see how she reacts to them.
Right now, though, I let her go free. I slip the cuff off her ankle as she watches me and replace it with the bracelet I was telling her about. It has a sensor in it that alerts the whole damn club if she gets too close to a door or window. She watches me intently as I secure it to her ankle before sitting back and admiring my work.
“I’ll show you around, and then you can have free rein.”
“Why?”
“Why not? Would you rather be chained to the bed?” I ask her, raising an eyebrow. She shakes her head, but I can see something else is bothering her right now. “What’s wrong?”
“She shot you,” she says as I shove to my feet and stand.
“Yeah, and she’s gonna be my test subject for that,” I tell her.
“That hardly seems like a punishment,” she declares. And she’d be right. Maybe it isn’t, but that’s one less girl I have to pay for.
“Probably not. What should I do to her?” I ask her instead of thinking of things for myself. The first thing I thought of was killing her when it first happened, but I decided against that, and here we are now.
“I don’t know. She’s already off her chain. She hasn’t been here for days like I have.”
“A week. You’ve been here a week,” I remind her. She looks at me strangely before sighing.
“She shot you. I would think she would be in more trouble than that.”
“You want her in trouble?” I can see the look in her eyes. She does. She doesn’t like Kelly, and I’m not sure why. They don’t even know each other.
“Yeah, I do, actually.”
“Why?”
“Why not?”
“Tell me why, and I’ll decide if I should punish her more,” I tell her. She licks her lips before glancing around the room and then looking back at me.
“She shot you. Isn’t that enough reason?”
“Why do you care, Addison? She didn’t shoot you.”
“I … I don’t.” she’s lying. She does care, and I don’t know why. I ignore her words and shake my head before motioning for her to follow me. She stands from the bed and follows me out into the hall and down to the main room. She glances around but doesn’t say anything, even as girls eye her up and down, and the guys do the same.
“They all live here?” she finally asks.
“Most of them. Some don’t. The girls tend to stick around, though.” She nods her head when Nails comes stalking toward us. She throws herself at me, and I catch her with my good arm, wrapping it around her waist.
“How’s the arm feeling?”
“It hurts like a bitch,” I tell her. I see Addison biting the inside of her cheek, so she doesn’t say anything, but what would she say? I almost want to find out.
“I’m sorry. I can make you feel better, though, Free.” Now, Addison laughs. She straight up laughs as she looks at Nails.
“Are you serious?” she asks her. Nails pulls out of my arms and stands in front of Addison, eyeing her up and down like fresh meat.
“You better watch how and who you’re talking to. You don’t know me.”
“I know enough,” Addison tells her.
“Enlighten me. What do you know?” Nails asks her.
“I know you keep throwing yourself at a man who doesn’t even want you.” That’s a bold statement coming from her. Not wrong, but bold nevertheless. I’m interested to see how Nails reacts to that.
“Are you kidding me? Who would he want? You?” Without another word, Addison shocks the hell out of me. She spins around, crashing into me before her lips are on mine. She kisses me hard and rough, and I love every fucking second of it. I force my tongue into her mouth and take what I want from her. She moans into my mouth, and my cock hardens in my jeans. This girl is driving me insane, and she doesn’t even know it. Or maybe she does, and that’s why she’s doing it. Either way, I don’t want her to stop.
When she finally pulls away from me, she’s breathing heavily. Her chest rises and falls rapidly as she turns to look back at Nails, a smug look on her face.
“You think I can’t do that to him?” Nails asks. I don’t want her lips on me. Never have. It’s nothing personal; she just isn’t my type. Not that I usually care, but after tasting what Addison has to offer, it’s even worse. I groan as I reach down and adjust my cock in my jeans so it’s not pressing against the zipper the way it was.
“Let’s not get into a pissin’ match, ladies. Nails, go back over there with the girls.” I don’t want to see a catfight around here, not over me anyway. Nails huffs, but once I raise an eyebrow, she turns and walks away. She heads back over to the rest of the girls, who now watch us curiously.
“What was that?” I ask Addison as she stands there with her head held high in front of me.
“What?”
“You know what. What the hell was that about?”
“Nothing. Just making a point. Is that not allowed?” she asks condescendingly. I reach up and run my hand through my hair, trying to debate how to answer that question.
“Never had anyone do that before,” I tell her. She smirks at me, actually smirks at me and shrugs her shoulders.
“First time for everything,” she says. She’s right. There is, and this sure as hell is one of them.
“She’s gonna hate you now,” I tell her.
“I don’t care. I didn’t like her much anyway. Bunny is nice, though,” she tells me. She’s right. Bunny is the nice one. Nails? Not so much.
“She is nice. You should stick with her. I don’t know how much the other girls will take with your attitude,” I tell her.
“My attitude? I don’t have an attitude.”
“No, I’m just sayin’. The way you are, they aren’t gonna take kindly to it.”
“They don’t like seeing other girls take what they want?” It’s like the words slipped out of her mouth before she could stop them. I see the look on her face. She shocked herself that she said it out loud and now she’s regretting it.
“You what?”
“Nothing.”
“I’m off limits durin’ the drugs, Addison. It’s a personal thing,” I tell her.
“I didn’t ask about the drugs, did I?” Holy shit. She’s bold, that’s for sure. She’s standing here admitting she wants me. That she wants something from me, but I don’t get involved with the girls I buy and use. They’re here for a reason, and my satisfaction isn’t one of them. The other guys may get off on that, but not me.
I don’t know what else to say to her, so I don’t say anything. Instead, I motion around the room before I speak.
“This is the main room. Most of us hang out here,” I tell her. She follows behind me as I walk, showing her the kitchen, bathrooms, and the rooms that are off-limits to her. Kelly sits at the bar with Nails, and the thought of those two becoming friends makes me sick to my stomach.
“You don’t think you should do something about that?” Addison asks, nodding toward the two of them.
“I like the girls to be comfortable here,” I tell her.
“Do I need to tell you what she did again?”
“No. I don’t need the reminder, thanks. What do you care anyway?”
“You’re supposed to take care of me, right? After the drugs?”
“Yeah, and I will, too.”
“How with your fucked up arm? What if she got you shot somewhere else? Then what?”
“Are you worried about me or you here? Because it’s getting a little hard to tell,” I admit to her. She looks around the room, spotting Bunny near the kitchen before she responds, “Both.” Then she walks off toward Bunny and leaves me standing here stunned. She’s been here a week. She doesn’t know shit about me. She doesn’t need to know and yet she’s working her way under my skin already. That’s a new fucking record.
“What’s wrong? Your arm botherin’ you?” Van asks as he walks up next to me.
“A little, but it’s Addison. She keeps shockin’ the hell out of me at every turn, brother. I can’t figure her out,” I tell him.
“Like what? What’s there to figure out? You never analyzed the other girls like that,” he reminds me. I get that, but she’s different. I can feel it. I can see it.
“I don’t know, man. There’s somethin’ different about that one,” I tell him as I nod toward her.
“Like what?”
“I don’t know. If I knew, it wouldn’t be botherin’ me. She isn’t afraid to get the drugs for one. She just asks a lot of questions about it. None of the others have given a shit enough to ask.”
“That is different,” he adds.
“Right? And I don’t know how to deal with that. I’m used to just pumping the drugs into their systems and watching them have at it.”
“That is a strange one. You’re gonna have to work harder with this one, Free.”
“No shit.”
