Chapter 13
Addison
My body aches in ways I never knew it could. After last night, I feel like I’ve been running a damn marathon. I’ve never been so sore in my life. I wake up startled when I feel something between my legs. When I jerk up, I see it’s Free, and he has some kind of bottle in his hand.
“Haven’t you given me enough drugs?”
“This will help with that pain,” he explains, applying some sort of cream he no doubt came up with. According to the girls, he makes all kinds of drugs and things they find useful around here. I lay back down, blowing out a breath as every muscle in my body aches.
“You’re sore,” he says, climbing back up the bed.
“I am. I didn’t think it would be like that.”
“What did you think it would be like?”
“I thought we’d have sex, and that’s it. I didn’t know I’d keep wanting sex for half the night,” I tell him. He smiles, and fuck, I could take him again just for that.
“That’s what it does. It keeps you goin’. How do you feel today?”
“Aside from being sore, I feel fine. Normal.”
“Good. That’s what I like to hear,” he tells me before he moves from between my legs. I turn my head and see Kelly asleep, but Free doesn’t move to use the cream on her. Instead, he tosses it on the table next to the bed and stands to his feet. I notice him wince.
“How’s your arm?”
“It’ll heal. Just sore still,” he answers as his eyes meet mine. I smile back at him, and something flashes in his eyes before he blinks, and it’s gone.
“You need to eat,” he tells me. I nod my head as I sit up and throw my legs over the side of the bed. Before I can reach for my clothes, Free passes me a t-shirt that looks like one of his. It has a logo and says Soulless Bastards on it. I slip it over my head and stand, letting the material fall over me. It barely touches my thighs, and a shiver runs through me. Free notices and walks closer.
“You still feelin’ the effects of the drug?” he asks, looking concerned. I don’t think it’s the drugs so much as the man himself.
“No. Why?”
“I was just wonderin’. I like to make sure.”
“I’m fine, Free. What about Kelly?” I ask, changing the subject.
“What about her?”
“Didn’t you give her the drugs, too? I don’t see you taking care of her like you are me.” He runs his hand through his hair before sighing.
“You’re right. I should be takin’ care of her too,” he tells me. Something about the way he says it tells me he doesn’t really want to, or he doesn’t care if she’s as sore as I am. Nevertheless, I walk out of the room and down the hall to the main room, ready to find something to eat. I get a few whistles from the guys, and a few looks from the girls when Bunny comes up to me.
“How you feeling? I bet you’re starving,” she says.
“I am hungry. And I’m just … sore.”
“Yeah, a night like that will do it to you. Although, I don’t know what your night was like, considering I didn’t see you with any of the guys,” she adds. I know what she’s doing, and I don’t care to tell her. I don’t think it’s a big secret I fucked Free last night, so I tell her what happened.
“It was so weird, Bunny. I couldn’t come for the other guy. My body just wouldn’t allow it,” I tell her.
“You like Free.”
“What do you mean?”
“You like Free. That’s why you couldn’t come for the other guy. I think that’s sweet.”
“It’s not like that. He bought me and drugged me,” I remind her. It sure as hell isn’t like that.
“Doesn’t matter. You still have feelings, Addison. And who says you can’t have them for Free?” Maybe she’s right. Maybe I do feel something toward Free and that’s why I was so dead set on having him last night. I won’t complain and say it wasn’t some of the best sex I’ve ever had because it was.
“Tell me. Was he good? He doesn’t mess with many of the girls here,” she tells me.
“Oh, he’s good. Better than good.”
“Big cock? Little cock?” she pushes for more information.
“Big. Nice and thick, too,” I reply, although I don’t know why I’m telling her. I feel safe with what I say to Bunny and considering what she does around here, I don’t know that I should. She may go back and tell the other girls what I said. The thought has me closing my mouth and biting my lip. I don’t want everyone to know what was going on with me and Free last night.
“Your secret is safe, Addison. I’m not like that,” she says as if she can read my mind. I give her a smile before she leads me into the kitchen and grabs a plate. I can smell the food someone has already cooked and see the eggs on the stove. My stomach growls loudly, and Bunny chuckles.
“Look what the whore dragged in,” Nails tosses as she eyes me up and down. “Is that Free’s shirt?” She sneers as she takes in my clothes. I nod once not wanting a fight with her. I don’t know what the deal is with her, and I have no interest in finding out.
“Mind your own business, Nails,” Bunny warns.
“Free is my business.”
“No, he’s really not. You make him your business. He doesn’t give two shits about you,” she tells her. I remain quiet as Bunny slides a plate of food in front of me and passes me a fork. She nods to the plate, indicating I should eat, so I do.
“She had the drugs last night. Why would she be wearing Free’s shirt?” Nails asks this time. It takes her a minute before she puts it all together. I watch as her face contorts into something I’ve never seen before. I try to ignore it and eat my food, but she rounds the counter and tugs at my shirt, nearly ripping me off the stool I’m sitting on.
“Leave her alone, Nails!” Bunny yells this time.
“He wouldn’t fuck you. It’s against his rules. He won’t fuck the girls who take the drugs,” she snarls at me. I don’t argue with her, just look between her and Bunny because Bunny knows what we did last night. She knows it was Free.
“Maybe he changed the rules for her,” Bunny says, inserting herself between me and Nails.
“He wouldn’t. He’s strict about that, and we all know it.”
“Maybe he did. What’s it any of your concern anyway?” Bunny asks her. Before I know what’s happening, Bunny is being shoved to the side, and Nails uses her fingernails to dig into my face before scratching me. I swing at her, hitting her in the ribs and knocking her back a step.
“You little bitch,” she screams before coming back at me. She doesn’t get the chance this time because one of the guys walks in and sees what’s going on. He grabs Nails and pulls her back, holding her against his chest.
“What the hell is goin’ on in here?”
“She’s a whore!” Nails yells.
“Okay. That means what?”
“That she slept with Free last night,” Nails screams again. Her high-pitched scream pierces my ears as I stand here holding my face. A few more guys come in, and then Free enters the room. He looks between everyone and comes straight toward me, pulling my hand away from my face.
“What the hell? She do this?” he asks. I nod my head. He spins around and looks at Nails in disgust.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” he asks her.
“You were sleeping with her!”
“And? That gives you the right to attack her?” he asks this time. She doesn’t look like she wants to answer that question, and honestly, I don’t care if she does. “Addison, go get dressed,” he orders over his shoulder. I walk around the crowd that’s gathered and out into the main room. A few of the guys look my way, but for the most part, everyone is busy doing their own thing.
I walk down the hall and back into the room, grabbing my clothes before heading to the bathroom. I start the shower and then look in the mirror at what she did to me. I could feel her claw at my skin, but damn, it looks bad. Angry, bloody red streaks rip across my cheek. I shake my head and pull the shirt off before climbing into the shower. I wash away the night’s sweat and reminders of what I did. I should feel ashamed and yet I don’t. I feel empowered. He was right. I was in charge. I didn’t have to do anything I didn’t want to do, and I chose who I was doing it with. He didn’t stop me from using him.
Once I’m clean, I climb out and dry off before dressing in the clothes he got me. Then, I check my face in the mirror once more. I grab the small towel and bring it up, dabbing at the scratches and wincing when the fabric sticks.
“She shouldn’t have done that,” I hear Free’s voice behind me. I turn to see him standing in the doorway, and I shrug.
“Not a big deal.”
“It is a big deal to me. She shouldn’t have touched you, Addison.” There’s a low growl in his tone that makes me take a step back. He eyes me up and down before stepping into the bathroom and crowding my space. His hand comes up to cup my cheek, and that’s how he stands there holding me.
“What are you doing?” I ask him.
“Somethin’ stupid,” he answers before leaning in and kissing me. It’s a kiss to rival all other kisses. It’s a kiss that would make you forget you’ve ever been kissed before. His tongue slides past my lips and slips across mine. I moan into his mouth before he deepens the kiss. I reach up and grab him around the back of the neck, wanting him, needing him closer to me. I don’t know if this is the after-effect of the drugs or if there’s something wrong with me, but I need it.
We kiss like this for a long time until he pulls back and rests his forehead against mine. He’s out of breath, and so am I.
“You need to eat. I wanna take you out,” he finally says.
“But you said I couldn’t leave.”
“With me, you can. You wanna go out with me, Addison?” he asks, and it sounds so innocent. I should tell him to fuck off, that he’s the one keeping me trapped in this place to begin with. I should remind him about the sensor on my ankle keeping me held prisoner in the clubhouse. But I don’t. Instead, I nod my stupid head and agree to go out with him.
