Siya's grin lingered on her lips as she thanked Arushi silently in her mind for unexpectedly leaving, granting her this golden opportunity for the first time.
But her moment of gratitude was interrupted as Shashwat entered the room with a tray of pakoras and tea.
His raised eyebrows indicated his curiosity at seeing Siya grinning to herself.
"Itni khushi kis baat ki hai?" he inquired, settling beside her and placing the tray on the table.Siya's grin faded as she caught his gaze, a hint of nervousness creeping into her expression.
[Why is this happiness?]
"Kuch nahi... wo bas ek joke yaad aa gaya tha hehehe," she replied with a forced nervous smile, hoping to divert his attention.
[I remembered a joke.]
Shashwat chuckled at her response, his eyes sparkling with amusement. He gestured for her to help herself to the pakoras, and Siya's smile returned as she picked up one of the crispy snacks and dipped it into the chai.
As she took a bite, the warm, comforting flavours filled her senses, and she couldn't help but relax in Shashwat's presence.
"Shall I turn on the TV??" Shashwat asked, breaking the comfortable silence that had settled between them, and Siya nodded in agreement.
With a flick of the remote, the television screen flickered to life, casting a soft glow across the room.
Shashwat navigated to YouTube and queued up a song, filling the room with its melodious strains.
Siya turned her attention to the TV screen, her focus on the music as she absentmindedly reached for another pakora.
However, her enjoyment was short-lived as she bit into a particularly spicy chilli, causing her to hiss in discomfort.
Shashwat's gaze snapped to her, a look of concern crossing his features.
"Pani pani pani !!!" Siya exclaimed urgently, fanning near her mouth in an attempt to alleviate the fiery sensation.
[I need water.]
Shashwat sprang into action, grabbing a glass of water and offering it to her. Siya eagerly accepted, gulping down the water with relief.
"Dekh ke khana chahiye tha na," Shashwat scolded gently, his tone laced with concern as he watched her discomfort. He reached for her plate, intending to remove the chilli-laden portions.
[You should have been careful.]
Siya frowned as Shashwat took the plate from Siya's hand, she watched him with a mix of surprise and amusement. He began carefully taking out the green chilies from her pakoras, tearing them off with practiced ease..
"Arre iski zarurat nahi... ham dekh ke kha lenge," she protested weakly, but Shashwat silenced her with a stern look.
[No need of all this. I will eat carefully.]
"Shh!!" he admonished softly, his gaze unwavering as he continued to remove the offending chilli pieces. Once satisfied, he handed her the plate, a small smile playing on his lips.
"Thank you," Siya said gratefully, her smile mirroring his. Shashwat simply nodded in response, his eyes warm with understanding and care.
As the song "Mujhe Ishq Hai Tujhi Se" filled the room with its soul-stirring melody, Siya's face lit up with a grin of pure delight.
"This is my favourite song... I loved the movie too... kya naam tha movie ka!!!" she exclaimed, her eyes shining with excitement as she tried to recall the name of the film.
"Umeed," Shashwat replied promptly, his voice infused with a gentle amusement at her enthusiasm. Siya's curiosity piqued, she turned to him, her eyes alight with interest.
"You also watch old movies?" she inquired eagerly, her smile growing wider.
"Of course, I love them." Shashwat responded with a nod, his own smile mirroring hers as he acknowledged her surprise.
"What's your favourite movie?" she asked, her curiosity now piqued.
"Anand," Shashwat replied without hesitation, a fondness evident in his voice as he reminisced about the classic film.
"And yours?" he inquired, turning the question back to her with genuine interest.
"Kati Patang... Hame uske songs bahot pasand hain," Siya replied excitedly, her eyes sparkling.
[I love the songs of that movie.]
Just then, as if on cue, the song "Pyar Deewana Hota Hai" from "Kati Patang" started playing, filling the room with its timeless melody. Siya and Shashwat shared a chuckle at the serendipitous timing, their attention drawn to the TV screen where the song played.
The music enveloped them, weaving its magic as Siya couldn't help but notice Shashwat humming along to the tune. His voice, unexpectedly melodious, added an extra layer of enchantment to the moment, and she found herself captivated by the sound.
Caught in the spell of the music, Shashwat noticed Siya's gaze and gesture for her to join in. Encouraged by his invitation, Siya began to hum along, her voice blending harmoniously with his as they sang together.
As they sang, they felt the emotions of the song wash over them- the longing, the passion, the bittersweet beauty of love. Each note resonated with their souls, stirring memories and evoking feelings they hadn't realised were buried within.
"Shama kahe parwane se, Pare chala jaa
Meri tarah jal jayega, Yahan nahi aa," Siya sang alone, her voice soft and soulful, her heart echoing the yearning expressed in the lyrics.
Shashwat was momentarily lost in her enchanting voice, his own heart stirred by the depth of emotion she conveyed.
"Wo nahi sunta usse jal jana hota hai, Har Khushi se har gham se begana hota hai," he continued, seamlessly picking up where she left off, his voice adding a layer of depth to the song.
Their voices intertwined, they hummed together once more, their harmonious melody filling the room with warmth and nostalgia. With each note, they felt a deeper connection forming between them, a shared understanding of the beauty and pain of love.
"Pyar deewana hota hai, mastana hota hai
Har Khushi se har gham se begana hota hai," they sang in unison, their voices blending seamlessly as they shared a moment of musical connection.
In that shared moment, as the music enveloped them, Siya and Shashwat felt a profound sense of closeness and camaraderie. It was a moment they would treasure, a memory that would forever bind them together in the melody of their shared affection.
As Reyansh parked the car in front of a showroom, Arushi eagerly accompanied him inside. Together, they perused through the aisles, Arushi offering her input as Reyansh selected dresses for his sisters.
After finalising their purchases, they emerged from the showroom, the bags in Reyansh's hands a testament to their successful shopping expedition.
"Kuch khana hai?" Reyansh inquired, and Arushi nodded eagerly.
[Want to eat something?]
"Let me check koi restaurant hoga idhar," Reyansh suggested, but Arushi shook her head with a mischievous grin.
"Restaurant kyun?? Itna paisa kyun waste karna! Upar se wahan sab tasteless hota hai. See there is special raj kachori and uske bagal rabdi aur jalebi ban rahi. Uske baad pani puri khayenge," she suggested, and Reyansh couldn't help but smile at her.
[Why a restaurant?? Why waste so much money! Moreover, everything there is tasteless. See, there's special Raj Kachori, and next to it, Rabdi and Jalebi are being made. After that, we'll have Pani Puri.]
"Let's go then" he agreed, and they made their way towards the tempting stalls.
Indulging in the delightful treats of jalebi, rabdi, and raj kachori, they savoured every bite, their laughter echoing amidst the bustling crowd. As they approached the pani puri stall, Arushi's eyes lit up with excitement.
"Pani Puri competition karoge aap?" she asked, her competitive spirit shining through.
[ Will you compete with me in a Pani Puri competition?]
"Rehne do, haar jaogi," Reyansh teased, but Arushi refused to back down.
[You will loose.]
"Don't challenge me. Mujhe Pani Puri competition me Ritika didi ko bhi hara nahi payi even though she is champion in this," she boasted, her confidence unwavering.
[Ritika didi also couldn't able to defeat me in this.]
"Dekhte hain..but jeetne vale ko kya milega?" Reyansh inquired, intrigued by the stakes.
[Let's see.. but what will the winner get?]
"Umm.. haarne vala jeetne vale ki koi ek baat manega," Arushi replied with a playful smile.
[Hmm.. the loser will have to do to one thing the winner says.]
"Pakka? Peeche to nahi hatogi?" Reyansh teased, and Arushi nodded, her determination clear.
[Are you sure?]
And so, their impromptu competition began, the two of them devouring pani puris with gusto. Tears welled up in their eyes from the spicy tang of the water, but they persisted, each determined to emerge victorious.
At a certain point, Arushi reluctantly conceded defeat, her throat parched from the intense flavour. Reyansh, victorious, graciously offered her a sweet puri, which she accepted with a grateful smile, the sweetness of the gesture melting away the heat of the competition.
"Thank you," she said, her eyes twinkling with mirth as she savoured the sweet treat.
As they walked back towards the car, Reyansh couldn't resist teasing Arushi about her defeat in the pani puri competition.
"Challenge haar gayi ho tum," he remarked with a playful grin.
[You lost the challenge.]
"Haan, I know. Tell me what should I do?" Arushi replied, her tone laced with curiosity as they settled inside the car. Reyansh glanced at her, a mysterious smile playing on his lips as he focused on the road ahead.
"Phir kisi din bataunga," he replied cryptically, the hint of a secret lingering in his words as he drove the car away from the bustling streets.
[Some other day.]
Arushi stepped out of the car and checked her phone while walking towards her home. To her surprise, she found 20 missed calls from Siya. Panic surged through her veins as she realised that she has called Siya at her home today.
"Oh shit!! Siya will kill me today," she muttered to herself, hastening her steps towards her house. She pressed the doorbell, and Shashwat opened the door, his expression stern.
"Your friend has been waiting for you for two hours. Arushi, what kind of behaviour is this? How could you call her and then disappear?" Shashwat scolded, his disappointment evident.
"Bhaiya, wo mere dimag se nikal gaya tha," Arushi defended herself, feeling guilty for worrying Siya.
[It slipped from my mind.]
As she entered the house, she saw Siya approaching her with a smile. Arushi braced herself for Siya's anger, but to her surprise, Siya hugged her warmly.
"Sorry Siya...Mai pata nahi kaise bhul gayi..I am so sorry," Arushi apologised sincerely.
"It's okay...chal tere room me ab," Siya said, her tone gentle as she led Arushi to her room. Arushi frowned, puzzled by Siya's lack of anger.
"Tu gussa nahi hai?" Arushi asked tentatively as they entered her room, unsure of what to expect.
[You are not angry?]
Siya hugged her tightly, surprising Arushi even more. "Thank you thank you thank you ki tu gayab ho gayi! Otherwise I would have missed this chance," Siya exclaimed, grinning mischievously.
"Matlab?" Arushi inquired, curiosity piqued.
"Arre, chance to spend time with your bhaiya alone," Siya replied, her eyes twinkling with excitement.
"Kya kya kiya tune?" Arushi asked, unable to contain her excitement.
[What you guys did?]
"Go and change first," Siya said, gesturing towards the wardrobe, and Arushi nodded eagerly.
"Vaise, itna ready hokar kya karne gayi thi?" Siya teased, raising her eyebrows.
[But why are you so dressed up?]
"Wo..aise hi mujhe aaj man kiya ready hone ka," Arushi replied with a shrug, hiding her true intentions.
[I just wanted to.]
"I am coming in few minutes," she said, disappearing into the bathroom to change into comfortable clothes.
Evening descended upon the city, casting a soft glow upon the park where Akash stood, nerves tingling with anticipation.
He adjusted his appearance in the bike mirror, his reflection flickering in the fading light.
Blue jeans, a white T-shirt, and a denim blue shirt layered over it, all carefully chosen because blue was Richa's favourite colour.
Satisfied, he ran a hand through his hair, then leaned against his bike, scrolling through his phone one last time.
Meanwhile, Richa approached the park, spotting Akash from a distance.
Entranced by his demeanour, she couldn't resist capturing the moment with a quick snapshot, his handsome figure framed against the twilight.
With a smile, she made her way towards him, dressed in a sleek black kurti and flared jeans, small earrings adorning her ears.
"Ready to go?" Akash inquired, his voice betraying a hint of nervous excitement.
"Where are we going?" Richa asked, her curiosity piqued.
"To my most special place," he replied, a twinkle in his eye, as she settled in behind him on the bike.
Stopping the bike in front of a modest house, Akash glanced at Richa, a mixture of anticipation and nostalgia swirling in his eyes. The house, though not grand, exuded a warmth that belied its age, evident in the lush greenery of the garden and the vibrant blooms adorning it.
"Come," Akash beckoned, leading the way as they approached the door.
"What place is this?" Richa queried, her brow furrowing with curiosity.
"This is my Dadi's house, where I spent my childhood," Akash explained, unlocking the door and inviting her inside. As they stepped into the familiar surroundings, Richa took in the old-world charm of the place, noting its cleanliness and well-maintained appearance.
"You know, maine bahot pehle socha tha ki hamare first date pe tumhe yahan lekar aaunga, so that Dadi Maa could bless us," Akash confessed, a hint of nervousness tingeing his voice as he rubbed the back of his neck.
Richa's smile in response melted his heart, her understanding gaze conveying more than words ever could.
[You know, I had thought a long time ago that I would bring you here on our first date.]
"I've prepared everything here, and..." Akash trailed off, his attention drawn to Richa, who stood before his grandmother's photograph, hands clasped together, eyes closed in reverence.
He watched her, overwhelmed by the depth of her gesture, feeling a surge of love and gratitude welling up within him.
Richa had a way of continually surprising him, of making him feel like the luckiest man alive.
Moving to stand beside her, Akash joined his hands in prayer, his heart overflowing with hope and devotion as they sought his grandmother's blessings for their blossoming relationship.
Their eyes met in a shared moment of understanding and affection, their smiles mirroring the warmth that enveloped them.
However, Richa's attention was soon drawn to the trio of photo frames positioned delicately on the nearby table.
Her steps were purposeful as she approached, her curiosity piqued by the significance of the images captured within.
Upon closer inspection, her breath caught in her throat as she recognized her own likeness among the cherished faces. Turning to Akash with a mixture of surprise and emotion, she couldn't contain her wonder.
"Akash, what is this?" Her voice trembled slightly, betraying the depth of her feelings. In response, Akash's gaze softened, his words imbued with sincerity and affection.
"These are the three most important women in my life," he explained tenderly. "Wo vale frame me meri mumma hain, this one belongs to my grandmother, and," he paused, indicating the third frame, "that one is yours."
Richa's eyes widened in astonishment, her heart swelling with an indescribable mix of gratitude and love. She was deeply moved by the gesture, touched by the realisation of her significance in Akash's life.
In that moment, amidst the silent exchange of glances and the warmth of shared affection, Richa felt a profound sense of belonging.
It was a sentiment that transcended words, a bond forged in the tender moments of understanding and appreciation.
And as she looked into Akash's eyes, she knew with certainty that their connection was bound by something far greater than mere words could express-it was woven from the threads of love, respect, and unwavering devotion.
"Accha ab please take your seat," he said, gently holding her wrist and guiding her to sit on the couch.
"Wait," he added before rushing into the kitchen.
"Aree! Kidhar gaye?" she called after him, curious. He returned moments later, wearing an apron and sporting a mischievous grin.
[Where are you?]
"I am in your service ma'am, tell me, what will you eat? Sandwich? Maggie? Chowmin? Pasta? Yahan aapko sab milega ma'am. Please place your order," he said, assuming the role of a waiter, which elicited a giggle from Richa.
"Maggie," she said with a grin.
"As you order ma'am," he replied, bowing theatrically in front of her.
"Just wait for a few minutes," he said before disappearing into the kitchen.
"Ruko mai bhi help karti hun," she offered, getting up, but he gently made her sit again.
[I will also help you.]
"Arre I am the waiter here na.. character me raho," he insisted playfully.
"Akash, mai khaungi hi nahi agar tumne mujhe help nahi karne diya to," she warned, and he sighed in mock exasperation.
[I won't eat if you didn't let me help you.]
"Sara maza kharab kar diya. Chalo," he relented, leading the way to the kitchen with her trailing behind.
They prepared Maggie together, sitting on the couch in front of each other with their bowls. She eagerly took a spoonful, but her expression turned to a hiss as the hot noodles burned her tongue.
"Offo kya karti ho?" he exclaimed, taking the bowl from her hand and handing her a glass of water. She gratefully drank, then reached out for her Maggie bowl, but he stopped her.
[What are you doing?]
"Wait," he said, taking a spoonful of Maggie, blowing on it, and then offering it near her mouth. She looked at him, momentarily lost in his gesture.
"Akash, it's okay, I can..." she began to protest, but he interrupted her.
"Shhh!" he whispered, gently guiding the spoon to her lips, and she couldn't help but oblige, tasting the warm noodles.
"Tum nahi khaoge?" she asked, concerned.
[Won't you eat?]
"Baad me," he replied, blowing on another spoonful of Maggie and feeding her.
[After you.]
"Isme se hi kha lo," she insisted.
[You can eat from this bowl only.]
"Pakka?" he asked, seeking confirmation, and she nodded.
[Are you sure?]
From that moment, he fed her spoonfuls of Maggie, occasionally taking a bite himself, alternating between their bowls. As they continued, she noticed a stray noodle sticking near his lips and instinctively wiped it away with her handkerchief, eliciting a smile from him.
After washing their hands, they returned to the living room. She settled onto the couch while he stood in front of her, extending his hand.
"Will you dance with me? Please," he asked, hopeful anticipation in his eyes. She initially shook her head in playful denial, but then giggled and placed her hand in his palm, unable to resist his charm, which made him grin with happiness.
"Wait," he said, reaching for his phone and selecting a song.
[A/N- Listen "Aye kash ki ham" song if you want to imagine this scene properly ????.]
"Aye kash ki ham hosh me ab aane na paye" began to play softly in the background. He gently intertwined their hands, his other hand hovering near her waist but not quite touching it, and they began to move to the rhythm of the music.
Slowly, they begin to move closer, their movements mirroring the lyrics' plea to stay lost in the melody of love. As they sway, their eyes speak of a deep connection, a silent understanding that transcends words.
Their steps become more intricate, as if trying to hold onto each fleeting moment, their bodies intertwined in a dance of passion and desire. With every movement, they convey a sense of urgency, as if afraid to let go of this precious moment.
Their eyes locked in a tender embrace, reflecting the depth of their emotions with each step they took.
"Khilati, mahakati, Yeh julfon kee shaam...
Hasate, khanakate, Yeh hothon ke jaam..."
As the lyrics described her hair, he gently brushed his fingers through her locks, revelling in their softness and the intoxicating aroma they carried.
Their movements were fluid, mirroring the sway of her hair in the evening breeze. With a smile playing on his lips, he guided her into a graceful twirl, the lightness of her laughter mingling with the sweet melody of the song.
Despite the desire expressed in the lyrics to remain lost in love's enchantment, he couldn't help but wish for a moment frozen in time, where they could stay wrapped in each other's arms forever. The intensity of his feelings was palpable in every touch, every glance exchanged between them.
As they danced, he held her close, their bodies swaying in perfect harmony. With each step, he felt a yearning to escape to a world where only they existed, where their love could illuminate even the darkest night.
Lost in the music and the warmth of their embrace, he felt as though nothing else mattered but the love they shared. With every movement, they seemed to transcend reality, cocooned in a bubble of happiness and contentment.
As they danced, he felt a pang of regret that this moment couldn't last forever. He wished to prolong their time together, to remain suspended in the euphoria of their dance, free from the worries of the outside world.
With every step, he felt a renewed sense of gratitude for the love they shared. As they danced, he knew that as long as they were together, their love would continue to be their guiding light, leading them forward into an uncertain future filled with hope and possibility.
As the dance came to an end, they reluctantly parted ways, the spell of their intimate moment broken by the reality of the passing time.
"Ab chalen?" she asked, glancing at her watch to check the time.
[Shall we leave?]
"Hmm..itni jaldi beet gayi na sham," he replied with a pout, a hint of disappointment evident in his voice. She couldn't help but chuckle at his adorable expression as they made their way outside.
[Hmm.. the evening passed so quickly, didn't it?]
He dropped her off near her house, and she gracefully dismounted from his bike.
"Ok then," Akash said with a warm smile.
"I should leave," she replied softly, returning his smile, before turning to go.
But just as she was about to leave, a sudden impulse overtook her. She turned back towards him, noticing the raised eyebrows of confusion on his face. Ignoring his silent question, she took a step closer and gently took his hand in hers.
Before he could react, she leaned in and placed a soft kiss on his knuckles.
His eyes widened in shock as a surge of electricity coursed through his entire body, his heart racing uncontrollably.
She quickly released his hand and darted away, a shy smile playing on her lips as she retreated from the scene of her bold move.
For the next 15 minutes, Akash stood there in stunned silence, his gaze fixed on his hand where her lips had just touched.
Slowly, he raised his hand to his lips, his touch feather-light as he traced over the spot where her kiss had left its mark.
A smile spread across his face, his cheeks flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and exhilaration, as he replayed the moment over and over again in his mind, savouring the sweetness of her unexpected gesture.
After days of anticipation, the auspicious day of Diwali finally arrived, filling the Malhotra family home with an aura of joy and celebration.
The entire house was adorned with vibrant diyas, their warm glow illuminating every corner and casting a magical spell over the surroundings, culminating in a serene pooja dedicated to Lakshmi and Ganesh.
Afterwards, amidst the glow of flickering lights, they decided to grace the Diwali soirée hosted by the Rajvansh family.
"Let's not keep them waiting any longer," Harsh declared, urging everyone to depart.
"Haan, koi aur bhi wait kar raha hoga," Ritika whispered mischievously to Siya.
They embarked on their journey towards the Rajvansh residence, exchanging banter along the way.
"Harsh called, saying they're on their way," Naman informed the group.
"Koi to aa raha hai." Akash teased Shashwat, who responded with a deadpan expression.
[Someone is coming.]
"Loud speaker pe jaa ke announce iar de" Shashwat taunted.
[Go and announce it on loudspeaker.]
"Arav bhaiya baar baar enterance par dekhne se Ritika bhabhi jaldi nahi aa jayengi." Darsh teased Arav whose eyes were fixed on the enterance, a smirk playing on his lips.
[Arav bhaiya, Ritika bhabhi won't come quickly if you keep looking at the entrance repeatedly.]
"Shut up, Darsh, and stop calling her bhabhi." Arav retorted, rolling his eyes in mock annoyance.
Meanwhile, Akash pondered silently to himself, "When will Richa's family arrive?"
"Dekh tere sasural vale aa gaye," Shashwat pointed towards the entrance, prompting Richa to exchange a knowing smile with Akash. Their eyes met, and in that moment, they reminisce about the previous day's incident during their first date.
[You in laws are here.]
"Mai to lut put gaya," Akash exclaimed, making a beeline towards Richa.
[I am whipped.]
"Abhi kut vut bhi jayega uske papa se." Shashwat warned, giving Akash a playful pat on the back.
[You will be beaten also by her father.]
As the Malhotra family entered, they were warmly welcomed by the Rajvansh household.
"Aunty, where's Siya?" Arushi inquired with a curious expression.
"Aa rahi hai wo beta girte padte huye." Tara replied with a chuckle, eliciting laughter from everyone present.
[She is coming falling here and there.]
Just then, Siya made her entrance. However, as she stepped inside, her foot accidentally slipped into a plate of alta placed slightly to the side of the door. Siya quickly withdrew her foot, leaving behind marks of alta at the entrance.
"Hey bhagwan! Ye kya ho gaya! Mummy peet dengi hame," Siya whispered anxiously to herself, her heart racing with worry.
[Oh God! What I have done! Mummy will beat me for this.]
The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as he approached her, his mere presence causing her heart to flutter with excitement. She couldn't help but feel a rush of emotions every time he was near.
"Aap.. Happy Diwali," she greeted him with a warm smile.
"Same to you," he replied, his eyes briefly glancing at the footprints that adorned the floor.
"Sorry, sorry, wo galti se ho gaya. Mai bas saaf karne hi jaa rahi thi," she apologized, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment as she looked down.
[It happened by mistake. I will clean this.]
"Aree, iski koi jarurat nahi hai," he reassured her, his voice calm and reassuring.
[No need to wipe this.]
"Arre, aapka ghar ganda ho gaya hai," she fretted, her tone tinged with worry.
[I spoiled the floor.]
"It's believed that having a footprint of Goddess Lakshmi in one's home brings blessings of wealth and prosperity," he explained, his words carrying a sense of wisdom and tradition.
"Haan, par ye hamare pair hai," she pointed out.
[But this is my feet.]
"Tum bhi to iss ghar ki Lakshmi hi ho," he complimented her, his words leaving her feeling both flattered and bashful as he departed with a gentle smile, leaving Siya blushing in his wake.
[You are also Lakshmi of this house.]
"Kya baatein chal rahi thi hmmm hmmm!!" Arushi asked, approaching her. Siya snapped out of her daze, her cheeks still flushed,
[What were you talking?]
"Nothing. Wo ye galti se ho gaya yaar," she explained, gesturing towards the floor. Arushi's eyes widened in disbelief as she took in the sight.
"Arre yaar, mai isse yaha se hatana hi bhool gayi," Arushi admitted, feeling a pang of guilt for her forgetfulness.Just then, Kirti arrived on the scene, with a warm smile.
[I forgot to take this plate from here.]
"Siya beta, andar aao na. Wahin khade khade sari baatein kar logi kya dono?" she chuckled. But as her gaze fell upon the floor, her expression changed, and she couldn't help but scold Arushi,
[Siya beta come inside.]
"Tujhe bola tha na isse andar rakhne ko... Siya beta, tum jaa kar pair dhul lo. Ye sab iski galti hai, laparwah kahin ki," she admonished smacking on Arushi's head, while Arushi sheepishly rubbed her head.
[I told you to keep it inside... Siya, dear, go wash your feet. All this is his fault, completely careless.]
As Siya followed Kirti inside, Arushi prepared to wipe away the footprints, but Shashwat's voice halted her movement.
"Aru, wait!! Wo.. choti maa is calling you," he informed, diverting her attention. Without hesitation, Arushi turned and hurried inside as instructed.
Left alone, Shashwat found himself captivated by the delicate imprints on the floor, a tangible reminder of Siya's presence. They seemed to embody her grace and charm, their small size reflecting her petite stature. A soft chuckle escaped him as he couldn't help but marvel at their beauty.
Eager to preserve the memory, Shashwat retrieved his camera and carefully framed the footprints, capturing their elegance in a single snapshot. Satisfied with the result, he then covered them with a cloth, concealing them from view to ensure they remained undisturbed.
Just as Shashwat was about to click the picture again, a voice startled him from behind.
"Beta, wo picture acchi nahi aayi hai," Ishika's voice rang out.
[That picture is not good.]
"Ohh..." Shashwat stammered, turning around to face her, his eyes widening in realisation that it was Ishika standing there, arms folded across her chest.
"Choti ma... aisa nahi hai... I was just..." he struggled to find the right words.
"Kaisa hai ye mujhe samajh me aa raha hai beta!" she said, a smirk playing on her lips.
[I know what is it.]
"Actually wo..." he began, his nerves getting the better of him.
"Pasand hai wo tujhe?" she interrupted, and Shashwat nodded, unable to meet her gaze.
[You like her?]
"To itna dar kyun raha hai? I like her too... wo aur uski behen mujhe to dono bahot pasand hain. I am so happy that you chose her," Ishika said excitedly, her tone filled with genuine happiness.
[Why are you scared? I like both the sisters.]
"Aap kisi ko bataoge to nahi?" Shashwat asked, a hint of concern in his voice.
[Please don't tell anyone.]
"Nahi baba! Aaj tak tum sab ne mujhse jitne bhi secrets share kiye hain unme se kuch bhi bataya hai Maine kisi ko?" Ishika reassured him, and he nodded in agreement. Ishika had always been like a friend to them, someone they could trust with their deepest secrets.
[No dear! Have I ever revealed any of the secrets you all have shared with me to anyone?]
"Par Shashwat, padhai me koi laparwahi nahi chahiye, ok?" she warned sternly.
[But, no carelessness in studies ok?]
"Pakka," he promised with a grin, pulling her into a tight hug.
[I promise.]
"You are the best choti maa," he said gratefully.
"Accha bas... ab chal andar... koi wait kar raha hoga aapka," she teased, causing Shashwat's cheeks to flush as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously.
[Someone must be waiting .]
Arushi led everyone to her room as they were feeling bored sitting with elders so they decided to play something till then. Reyansh's eyes landed on Arushi's childhood photographs, eliciting a warm smile from him.
Seated comfortably, everyone settled in, creating a cozy atmosphere.
"Aree, mai apne pran nath ko wish karna bhool hi gayi... Shubh Deepawali Swami.... Bhagwan mere Arya ko meri Umar bhi de den," Ritika exclaimed, prompting an amused glance from Arav. Laughter rippled through the room at their playful banter.
[Oh, I forgot to wish my beloved Pran Nath... Happy Diwali, Swami.... May God grant my Arya a long life as well.]
Just then, Ishika entered with trays of coffee and tea, ready to serve her guests.
"Aunty, hum kar lenge, aap rehne dijiye," Ritika offered politely.
[We can do it.]
"Arre, it's ok, mai kar Rahi hun," Ishika insisted with a smile, gracefully serving tea to Ritika.
"Aur kya dun aapko?" she asked, turning to Ritika
[What do you want?]
"Aapka beta," Ritika replied, causing Arav to choke on his food and everyone else's eyes to widen in surprise. Ishika looked at her with a blank expression, momentarily taken aback.
[Your son.]
"I mean aapka beta mtlb Arav jo kha raha hai wahi de dijiye, Aunty," Ritika quickly clarified, biting her tongue in embarrassment.
[I mean the sweet which your son is eating, give me me that.]
"Ohh acha, mai to kuch aur hi samjhi," Ishika chuckled sheepishly, serving snacks and quickly excusing herself from the room.
[I thought something else.]
"Pagal ho kya didi? Kuch bhi mat bola karo kisi ke samne," Siya scolded Ritika playfully.
[Are you mad didi?]
"Hehe, sorry," Ritika apologised, munching on her snack while Arav shook his head in disbelief.
After indulging in snacks, they pondered over what to do next.
"Antakshari?" Siya suggested.
"Tumhari awaz achi hai, yaha sab acha nahi gaa paate to hatt!" Ritika teased, making Siya pout in response.
[Your voice is good that doesn't mean that everyone can sing well.]
"Dumb charades," Akash proposed, met with a collective groan from the group.
"Truth and Dare?" Arushi suggested, sparking interest.
"Haan, aur jaise ki yahan sab satyawadi Harishchandra ke fufa baithe hain, na ki truth bol denge," Ritika joked.
[Yes as if here everyone is honest that they will say the truth.]
"How about passing the parcel?," Siya suggested enthusiastically.
"Yes that will be great." Divya said excited.
"I will change the music " Arav volunteered, taking charge of the music.
"Mere Arya nhi khelenge to mai bhi nhi... mai Arya ke sath hun aur mai tum sabko ideas dungi ki ek dusre se kya karvana hai," Ritika declared confidently.
[If my arya won't play then I am also not playing.]
With everyone seated in a circle, Arav started the music, initiating the game of passing the parcel. As the music stopped, the pillow landed in Darsh's hands.
"Ab tujhe sabse mushkil kaam deta hun," Shashwat declared with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
[I will give you toughest task.]
"Aise bol ke aap mujhe dara nahi sakte kyunki mere liye koi bhi kaam mushkil nahi hai," Darsh responded confidently, adopting an attitude.
[Don't try to scare me. There is nothing tough for me.]
"Say sorry to Divya," Shashwat instructed, his tone firm yet playful.
"Bas itna.... Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?? Kabhi nahi bhaiya, kabhi nahi," Darsh exclaimed in shock, his eyes widening in disbelief.
[No no never!!!]
"Kya hua, bahot hero ban Raha tha ...ab bol," Arushi teased, while Divya couldn't help but smirk at the unfolding drama.
[What happened? ]
"Nahi bhaiya, aap mujhe balon me tel laga ke champu ban ke school Jane keh do, main woh bhi kar lunga par ye nhi," Darsh pleaded, his reluctance palpable.
[No brother, you can tell me to make shampoo by applying oil to my hair and going to school, I will do that too, but not this.]
"Drama band kar aur sorry bol," Arav chimed in, adding to the pressure.
"Iss paap ke liye mai aap dono ko kabhi maaf nahi karunga," Darsh declared dramatically, eliciting laughter from everyone present.
[I won't forgive you for this.]
"Sorry bandariya," he finally relented, albeit reluctantly, causing Divya to glare at him.
"Oyee.. tameez se," Shashwat scolded him lightly, reminding him to apologise properly.
"Sorry Divya ji," Darsh said, making a face, much to Divya's amusement.
"Chalo, continue," Ritika urged, eager to keep the game going, as Arav started the music once more.
As the music stopped, the pillow landed in Akash's hands, signalling the start of the next round of the game. .
"What should we ask him to do?" Arav inquired, scanning the group for ideas.
"Haan, go and give a free dance show to our elders," Reyansh suggested with a mischievous twinkle in his eye.
"Kya? Sab mujhe pagal samjhenge," Akash protested, his voice tinged with apprehension at the outrageous request.
[ Everyone will think I am gone mad.]
"Usme samjhne wali baat nahi hai. I will decide the song," Ritika asserted confidently, taking control of the situation as she pulled out her phone.
"Yahi song play karna," she declared, a smirk playing on her lips as she selected a particular track.
[Play this song.]
"Didi, aapne sahi nahi kiya. Maine hamesha aapki side li aur aap ye sila de rahe," Akash said looking at Ritika before making his way to the hall, with everyone trailing behind him and taking cover behind a nearby pillar.
[This is not fair didi. I always took your side.]
"Akash beta, do you want anything?" Naman, one of the elders, greeted him warmly as he entered the room.
Akash subtly retrieved his phone from his pocket and played the selected music.
"Tu janu vanu Jo kehta hai,
biwi Teri Hun lagta hai sami,"
The music began, and Akash couldn't resist breaking into dance, much to the shock and amusement of everyone present.
He continued, mimicking the steps from a popular movie, drawing laughter from the younger members of the family who watched from their hiding spot.
"Tere Piche Piche Chalu Jaise, Mandir Ki Seedhi Pe Chadhun Sami"
He sang and danced, unaware of the bewildered looks he was receiving from the elders.
"Akash, ye kya kar rahe ho?" Kirti, another elder, asked with a blank face, her confusion evident.
[What are you doing Akash?]
"Rukiye aunty, thoda aur hai," Akash replied cheekily, determined to see his performance through to the end.
[Wait there is more.]
""Tere Bagal Baithun Aise Jaise,
Shiv ke Bagal Gauri Mor Sami,
Woh Dagar Jahan Teri Nazar,
Le Jaye Re Prem Nagar, Sami Aye Sami," he sang, his enthusiasm undiminished.
"Arrey Sami Aja Sami, Balam Sami Param Sami, Sanam Sami, Arre Sami Sami, Aaja Sami Sami, Balam Sami Param Sami, Sanam Sami,..."
As Akash brought his impromptu dance performance to a close, he halted the music and turned to face the elders, who were staring at him with blank expressions, their minds undoubtedly reeling with confusion and disbelief at what they had just witnessed.
"Sorry, dare tha uncles and aunties." Akash blurted out as he dashed away from the scene, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
"Ye bache log bhi pata nhi kya kya khelte rehte hain," Harsh commented with a chuckle, shaking his head in amusement.
[God knows what they all keep doing.]
The youngsters returned to the room, their laughter echoing through the space.
"That was so embarrassing yaar! Kirti, Ishika aunty, aur Naman Piyush uncle to phir bhi thik hain par Reyansh ke aur specially Richa ke mummy papa mujhe kya samajh rahe honge," Akash lamented, covering his face with a pillow, eliciting laughter from everyone present.
[ What everyone must be thinking?]
"Sach yaar, Aisa lag raha tha jaise pagalkhane se bhag ke aaya hai koi pagal," Arav quipped in between his laughter.
[It was looking like he came from mental hospital.]
"Aur jab wo signature step kiya to kuch aur hi lag raha tha" Reyansh added with a smirk, recalling Akash's energetic performance.
[And that signature step was awesome.]
"Ab chalo chalo, let's continue the game. Ab Arushi, Siya, Shashwat, Richa, Reyansh, Divya are left," Ritika announced, prompting everyone to take their places as Arav started the music.
Slowly, everyone got eliminated from the game, leaving only Siya and Shashwat remaining.
The tension mounted as they continued passing the pillow to each other, their competitiveness evident.
At last siya and Shashwat were left. And Shashwat threw the pillow towards her and winked at her making her eyes widen.
Just as the music stopped, Siya's mouth formed an "O" shape, realising she had been eliminated.
"Siya out," Arav declared, his voice filled with amusement.
"Inhone cheating ki," Siya protested, her expression indignant.
[He cheated.]
"Maine kya kiya?" Shashwat feigned innocence, a mischievous twinkle in his eye.
[How?]
"Aapne wo..." Siya started but stopped, unable to articulate her accusation.
"Wo kya?" he pressed, a smirk playing on his lips.
"Kya cheating ki isne?? Bata na," Ritika chimed in, her tone teasing, as Siya covered her face with the pillow in embarrassment.
[How did he cheated? Tell us?]
"Thik hai bataiye hame kya karna hai?" Ritika urged Siya to reveal her plan, while Shashwat couldn't help but smirk while she glared at him.
[Tell me what I have to do.]
"Tumse kya karvana hai, tum to vaise bhi joker ho, to kuch ajeeb harkat karogi tab bhi sab normal hi sochenge, kyunki tumhara ye roj ka kaam hai," Reyansh teased, earning a playful hit on the head from Siya.
[What we can ask you to do. You are already joker so everyone will think it's normal.]
"Bachon aa jao, patakhe nahi jalane hain kya?" Kirti called out, diverting everyone's attention to the festivities outside.
[Children don't you want to burn crackers?]
"Bach gayi tu Aaj," Ritika teased Siya, as they headed towards the garden.
As everyone left the room, Siya lingered behind, gathering her belongings to follow suit. Just as she was about to exit, she felt a gentle presence behind her.
"Game is not over yet. Dare to tumhe complete karna hi hoga," Shashwat whispered, his warm breath caressing her ear, sending shivers down her spine and a flurry of butterflies in her stomach. As he stepped back, she turned to face him, her heart racing with anticipation.
[You have to complete the dare.]
"Kya karna hoga hame?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, her eyes locked with his.
[What I have to do?]
"Uss din terrace pe jo kehne vali thi wo complete karo," he replied softly, a playful glint dancing in his eyes as he watched her cheeks flush a rosy hue, her gaze dropping to the floor in embarrassment.
[ Complete the sentence which you left incomplete on terrace that day.]
"Ham..ham kuch nahi kehne vale the," she stammered, her words faltering under his intense gaze. But just as he was about to speak again, Siya suddenly tensed and glanced towards the door.
[I wasn't going to say anything.]
"Arushi is calling me," she said hurriedly, her cheeks still flushed with the remnants of their intimate moment as she turned and fled from the room, leaving Shashwat smiling to himself.
Siya headed towards the garden area, her steps quickening as she tried to put some distance between herself and Shashwat. But he caught up to her, his footsteps matching hers as he walked behind her.
"Jitna bhagna hai bhag lo, dare to complete karna hi hoga," Shashwat said teasingly, his voice sending a shiver down Siya's spine.
[Run how much you can, but you have to complete the dare.]
"Ye mana nahi jayega because you cheated in the game. Aur aap ye baat acche se jante hain," Siya retorted, her tone laced with a hint of annoyance, though she couldn't hide the underlying amusement in her voice.
[I won't accept that. You cheated.]
"Everything is fair in love and war madam," he replied, a smirk playing on his lips as he looked at her.
Siya's heart skipped a beat at his words, her cheeks flushing at the mention of love. She tried to maintain her composure, but the fluttering in her chest gave away her feelings.
As Shashwat walked away, exchanging a smile with Reyansh and Akash, Siya shook her head, feeling a mixture of frustration and excitement.
"Pehle kuch bolte nahi the, ab bolne lage hain toh hame hi chup karva dete hain," she muttered to herself, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips as she continued on her way, her heart still racing from the unexpected exchange with Shashwat.
[ At first he never used to speak to me and now when he started speaking, he shuts my mouth too.]
Ritika handed Siya a packet of cracker, and Siya and Arushi took a firecracker in their hands, ready to light it up. However, before they could, Shashwat and Reyansh quickly snatched the bomb from their sister's hand and threw it on the ground.
"Are you both crazy? Aise kon karta hai?" Shashwat scolded them, his voice laced with concern.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa," Akash shouted, drawing everyone's attention. They turned towards him and saw two bombs near his legs.
"Who the hell is this?" Akash demanded, his voice filled with frustration.
"Ye dono hath me lekar jala rahi thi, isliye humne unke hatho se lekar phek diya...aur galti se shayad tere pair ke paas chla gya," Reyansh explained, trying to diffuse the tension.
[They were burning these with their hands and by mistake we threw it near your leg.]
"Acha hua chota wala tha agar bada hota to?? Abhi to meri shadi bhi nhi hui," Akash said with an unamused face, his tone reflecting his annoyance.
[Thank God this is small one. I am not even married yet.]
"Sorry yaar," Siya and Arushi apologized in unison as Akash went to drink water.
Just then, Shashwat noticed Siya holding a burning ground chakkar in her hand.
He rushed to her, snatched the cracker, and threw it on the floor near Akash's leg.
The firecracker started spinning near Akash's feet, prompting him to run around in panic.
After the firecracker extinguished, Akash approached them.
"Maar dal mujhe ek kaam kar! Tum dono ko Mai Zinda acha nahi lag raha kya?" Akash half-jokingly exclaimed, his face displaying a mix of annoyance and amusement.
[Do one thing, Kill me . Am I not looking good while living.]
"Tujhe kisne kaha tha waha khade hone ko?" Shashwat retorted playfully.
[ Who asked you to stand there?]
"Ohh so this is my fault??" Akash retorted, feigning offense. "Agar kabhi meri maut kisi mysterious way me hui to tum sab isse jail bhejne me bilkul hesitate mat karna," he added, making a crying face, which elicited chuckles from everyone present.
[If someday I died mysteriously then you all can send him to jail without any hesitation.]
Meanwhile, Ritika pulled Arav to a corner, where he stood with a puzzled expression.
"What are you doing?" he asked, his confusion evident in his tone.
"Chaliye Arya Putra ham sath me patakhe jalate hain taki hamara aane wala jeewan sukhmay rahe," Ritika said, her cheeks tinged with a faint blush as she spoke.
[We should also burn crackers togather.]
"Kya rahe? Pehle to tum ye Mahabharat ke jamane ke dialogues bolna band karo," Arav responded, a hint of irritation creeping into his voice.
[Stop saying these Mahabharata's era dialogues.]
"Acha Swami jaise aapki aagyan," Ritika retorted, a mischievous glint dancing in her eyes as she enjoyed his irritation.
[As you say swami.]
" Aur aise kyun laayi mujhe yaha side me...Koi hame sath dekh lega na to pata nhi kya sochega," Arav said, looking around nervously.
[Why did you dragged me here, if someone saw us what will they think?]
"Kya sochega? Yahi sochega ki ek Jawan ladka aur khubsoorat ladki sath me hain to jarur kuch chal raha," Ritika replied, feigning shyness as she spoke.
[What? They will think that a young boy and beautiful girl is standing togather so there must be something between them.]
"College me waise bhi hamare bare me afwah faili hai...ab yahan bhi Ghar walon ki shaq karva do," Arav lamented, his concern evident in his voice.
[In college there is already rumours about us. And because of all this our family will also doubt us.]
"Wahi to bas afwah hi to faili hai kuch hota hi kahan hai afwah ke alawa," Ritika said, shaking her head in disappointment as she looked away. Arav's smile bloomed with a hint of bashfulness at her words.
[Exactly! Only rumours are spreading, except that nothing is happening in reality.]
"Aur vaise bhi pyar me thoda badnam na huye to kya pyar kiya!" Ritika winked at him playfully, eliciting a tap on her head from Arav.
"Dimag kharab ho chuka hai tumhara," he said with a smile, his eyes filled with affection.
[You have gone mad!]
"Ritika beta Kahan ho ? Ghar nahi chalna kya ?" Tara called out, interrupting their moment.
[Ritika where are you?]
Ritika quickly ran from the corner, leaving Arav shaking his head with a fond smile as he watched her go, his heart feeling lighter with each passing moment.
As everyone was preparing to leave, Reyansh found Arushi standing alone near the blooming roses. He had asked her to meet him there, and as he approached her, he couldn't help but admire the way the soft light illuminated her features, enhancing her natural beauty.
"Why did you want to meet me here?" Arushi asked, her voice tinged with curiosity as she turned to face him.Reyansh smiled softly, his eyes sparkling with affection.
"I wanted to give you something," he replied, showing her some bangles which he brought for her yesterday as he noticed her admiring them on a stall.
"I can't accept these, Reyansh," she protested softly, her fingers hovering over the bangles.
"Arushi, yaad hai kal tum pani puri competition haar gayi thi and according to the rules you have to do something I say. To mai ab keh raha hun you have to accept these." He said, his eyes locking with hers. "And besides, you deserve these bangles. They suit you perfectly."
Arushi sighed, her resolve wavering as she looked at him with a mixture of affection and hesitation. Slowly, she extended her hand to accept the bangles, but instead of placing them in her palm, Reyansh gently took hold of her wrist, his touch sending a jolt of electricity through her veins.
She looked up at him, her eyes widening in surprise as he came closer, his gaze never leaving hers. With a tender smile, he pushed the bangles onto her wrist, his movements slow and deliberate as he savored the moment.
Arushi's heart raced as she met his gaze, her cheeks flushing with warmth as she felt the intimate connection between them. For a moment, time seemed to stand still as they lost themselves in each other's eyes, the world fading away around them.
But just as the moment threatened to consume them completely, Arushi's phone rang, breaking the spell. With a reluctant smile, she pulled away from Reyansh and answered the call.
"Siya is calling me," she said hurriedly, her voice tinged with regret as she glanced back at Reyansh. "I have to go."
Reyansh watched her go, his heart heavy with longing as he watched her disappear into the distance. But as he stood alone in the garden, he couldn't help but feel a sense of hope stirring within him, knowing that their bond was stronger than ever before.
