Chapter 15
I can’t believe you actually wrote me a letter. My heart stopped when I spotted it tucked between the pages. Did you know you left your letter where Romeo first saw Juliet? It’s one of my favorite parts.
I haven’t noticed the librarian giving a scowl to many students before—only my brother.
I don’t blame her, though. He can be an asshole sometimes.
My whole family can be assholes, actually.
Well, I say whole family, but I really just mean my dad and my brother.
Not my mom. She was too good and pure to ever be considered an asshole.
Sometimes, I miss her so much, I feel like my heart might explode. Have you ever missed someone like that?
Now that I’ve seen your handwriting, this makes you all the more real. It’s been difficult not knowing who you are. I try to picture your face, what you look like, what your voice sounds like.
How many times do you think we pass each other a day without knowing it? We probably see each other all the time. Maybe we’ve known each other for years.
