Chapter 28
Lewis
“Iapprove of that plan.” Noah giggled. For a moment I considered starting straight away, but I already had taken a big risk sneaking into his office. Perhaps some twisted part of me hoped Ollie would have seen and called me out.
It was torture to be near Noah so much yet be unable to touch him. I wanted to hug him and steal a kiss whenever I saw him. But both of us still held back because his brother might see.
In rare moments, I asked myself if Noah was ashamed of our relationship and that was why he didn’t want Ollie to know. I was too chicken to ask him, though, and had to live with my feelings.
I hid my face in his chest again, hoping that his familiar scent would ground me the way it always did. Those intrusive thoughts crept in whenever Noah and I weren’t together.
When we were in bed, I had no such thoughts. When my sweet little puppy gave me all of himself, I was so sure that he was mine and that he really meant it.
I should try to talk to him, I knew. But, in the end, I was just a weak guy who didn’t want to put a damper on the little time we had left together.
“What’s the plan for the rest of the day?” I asked him, my voice muffled by his jumper.
“Oh, Louise Reid from Radio-Active is coming over in a bit. They want to do a little feature on our Christmas market.“
“Oh, I know her from their morning show.”
“Yeah, I know.” Noah chuckled and squeezed me tighter. “You make me listen to her show every day, remember?”
“Vaguely,” I hedged, unable to suppress my chuckle.
“She DM’d us before the pub night. I forgot to mention it.” He pecked me on the nose. “Maddie asked me to meet her and talk to her about the market, what we’ve planned and everything. What are your plans for the afternoon?”
“I’m leaving the rest of the preparations to Perla. SweetPea’s obscenely good lamb stew is waiting for me, and then I’ll help put up Duncan’s stall later. So I guess I’ll see you around.” I wrapped my tail around him and sneaked it under his jumper. “You can ogle me while I lift heavy things.”
Noah exhaled a shaky breath when I ran the soft tip up his spine.
“You’re welcome, Puppy.”
I’d leave my usual duties to Perla, who had learned and grown so much in the past year that she could manage the brewery on her own. Lifting heavy things and building the stalls had made for a nice change. Maddie had arranged for Kjartan, one of Struan Fox’s workers, to help us.
“I can also ogle Duncan,” Noah quipped. “God, I hope he wears his kilt again,” he added in a dreamy voice.
A low growl escaped me, much like it had done on the pub night.
“Ogle him all you like. I’ll be inside you later,” I rasped and nipped his neck, careful not to mark his skin.
“See? We’re getting there. No death threats, good boy.” My puppy snorted and cuddled me to his chest. My Tiger purred at being addressed thus. Yes, call me a good boy. “Maddie told me that Duncan’s grandfather died a few months ago,” he switched topics and I sobered up fast.
“Yeah, it’s been pretty hard on Duncan. Alfie raised him, and he was old, but I suppose it never gets any easier to lose someone.”
“I suppose it doesn’t.” Noah pressed a kiss on my cheek. “Try not to distract me too much, will you?”
I chuckled. “Why would I do that, Puppy?” I leaned back and met his eyes.
“You are very distracting, Lewis Sinclair. You’ll be flaunting your muscles out there, and I’ll have no choice but to watch and salivate over you.”
“I’m not distracting, Noah. If anything, it’s you who keeps me from doing my job.” I cupped his cheeks with both hands and guided his lips on mine. “You are so pretty, I can’t keep my eyes off of you.”
“I suppose a blowjob in my office is out of the question,” he groaned. “But you are making it very difficult for me to be good.“
Noah bit his lip and contemplated me out of heavily hooded eyes.
“I suppose it is out of the question, yes.” I pecked him on the mouth and got to my feet. “I’d love to stay here with you.”
“Yeah, me, too. Or, you know, just be somewhere else, where we don’t have to hide.” For a moment I was tempted to tell him we didn’t have to hide and it was his choice, but I kept my trap shut.
It's just for the winter, Lewis. You agreed to keep it under wraps.
“Yeah, that would be great. Later, though. Do you have any plans for tonight?” Noah’s white teeth dug into his bottom lip again, and he let his eyes roam over my body.
“I have an idea of what I want to do, or should I say who.”
“We have the same idea, then.” I bump my nose against his. I had to tear myself away now. I wanted to check in with Perla, have a quick lunch, and then meet Duncan and Kjartan.
“Remind me later when we’re alone, won’t you?”
“Deal.” He adjusted his cock and eye-fucked me all the way to the office door.
“I’ll see you outside. Try not to look too cute, okay? And meet me by my car when you’re done?” The one he used was great—for humans. I did not fit into it.
“Can’t promise that. Love you,” he mouthed.
“I love you, too,” I whispered back.
I unlocked the door as quietly as I could, threw Noah one last glance over my shoulder, and left.
