ATTENTION
If this is your first time reading the Galaxy Circus, I would suggest skipping this scene until you have read it in its entirety because it may contain spoilers for future books.
If you have already experienced this wild ride, then please continue.
Hopefully these new scenes add another layer of enjoyment to the experience.
Maxsim
My jaw aches, and my claws punch through the pads in my paws as I storm away from the control deck.
Natalia, the scheming bitch, told me the boss men wanted to see me, but when I got there, they were nowhere in sight.
I’m furious, and my lightning is sparking out of control.
I just want to burn that bitch to the ground, but if I do that, it will cause problems for my family.
I bet she’s trying to get at my omega, but luckily, I never leave him alone, and I ordered the others to protect him until I got back.
I stab the button on the elevator control panel and prowl back and forth as I wait for it to come up to this level, a growl of annoyance coming from my chest as I think of creative ways to make that bitch pay.
I slam my fist next to the control panel, impatient to get back to my mate to make sure he is okay with my own eyes.
If he isn’t, then I am going to eviscerate that troublesome beta, and nothing is going to stop me this time.
I watch the floor indicator as the elevator makes its way to me, my fur standing on end and my body shaking as I try to keep my cat from bursting out of my skin.
Finally, the doors open, and a snarl of annoyance escapes my lips before I can stop it when I catch sight of one of our ship captains standing in my way. Captain Lester flinches at the sound and looks up from his communicator, a frown in place.
I hit the button for our floor, not saying a word to the Skarrian. I don’t like the man, I never have. I much prefer Captain Potter and do my best to avoid this one. He always wears this look of distaste when he’s dealing with non-Skarrian circus employees, like he smells something bad.
Before the doors can shut, he reaches out and stops them from closing. “Maxsim, I just received word from the Adams brothers. Their granddaughter has arrived, and they want tea served in the conference room. I am needed on the control deck, so you need to go get it for them.”
“I’m needed elsewhere. Find someone else to do it,” I growl as a spark of lightning flares from my tail.
Captain Lester pales slightly, but his eyes narrow and become calculating.
“Don’t make me tell the Adams brothers that you aren’t following orders. Your streak is already on thin ice after last week when Natalia tried to take a chunk out of Eric’s ass with her claws. One word from me, and you will all be back on that godforsaken planet of ice,” he threatens.
My claws flex, and my fangs ache with the need to rip out this creature’s throat, but the threat works.
There is no way I want to return to Iceen and put my omega male in harm’s way.
He would be a target that would be hard to defend on my own since we are a streak of two.
My mother’s streak would help, as would his family streak, but the numbers would still be too small to defend against everyone that would target him.
I see the exact moment Lester realizes he won.
A smug smile turns up his lips, and he leaves the metal box without even waiting for me to verbally acknowledge him.
The doors close behind him, and I hit the button for the dining floor.
Hopefully the other three can keep Echo safe for a little longer, but the lightning on my tail continues to spark with my worry and agitation.
Gods forbid anything else slows me down.
I program a human tea setting from the replicator.
Thankfully, it knew what was needed when I selected the menu item, because I don’t have a fucking clue, then I head toward the Adams’ main office.
My nose twitches as I make my way through the ship, a slight scent of something unfamiliar making my tail twitch.
What is that? It smells like sunshine and warmth, which is very foreign to a being from a planet that is a frozen wasteland.
It makes me want to curl up and bathe in its glory.
My cock twitches, and a rumbling growl leaves my lips.
I haven’t felt such a need since Echo first presented as an omega.
Is this what the Adams’ granddaughter smells like?
If that’s the case, then I might be in trouble, and a wave of guilt washes over me.
How can I think and feel such things when I am perfectly happy with my omega?
An omega I love beyond words? An omega I never dreamed I’d be so blessed to find?
I need to lock my reaction down. I cannot let anyone know that I find her scent appealing.
I wouldn’t want to hurt my omega like that, especially for someone who doesn’t even have a clue any of this is possible or that we even exist.
The Adams’ granddaughter is a human who is about to have her world rocked, so adding anything else to that will push the edge of her sanity.
No, I will keep my attraction secret. No one needs to know about it.
I mean, it’s just a scent. It’s not like she would even be attracted to a being like me.
I’m a furry beast, and she, for all intents and purposes, is a human.
Even on a ship as big as ours, everyone has heard the gossip regarding the Adams’ granddaughter.
They have been searching for her for a very long time and have finally located her on Earth.
She was raised there, with no idea of her origins, and the Adams brothers warned us on the threat of death and dismemberment to make her integration as easy as possible.
I didn’t think anything of it originally, happy for them, but I assumed it wouldn’t affect me in the least. When Eric announced that she would be training to take over the role of ringmaster and running the lightning cat show, though, that soon changed.
Natalia lost her shit. That was when she tried to take a chunk out of Eric Adams. I think she probably would have tried to kill him if I hadn’t stepped in and stopped her.
She outright declared she would try to kill the heir if she attempted to give her any orders.
Natalia hates being in the circus and claims it’s demeaning and not something the daughter of the Iceen matriarch should be doing, but she’s the one who schemed to take her sister’s place.
She was never meant to be on this trip. The rest of us eagerly volunteered as a way to get off the planet and away from Iceen, especially Echo and me.
Neither of us wanted to be tied down to a streak with a female neither of us were interested in.
Sim, Fuse, and Trace came with us. The five of us became a streak with the hope of one day finding the perfect female who would accept us as their mate after we explored the galaxy for a while.
It wasn’t until we left the planet that Echo presented as an omega, and he and I became mates and formed our own streak when the other three admitted they were in love with Natalia’s sister Minx, who was supposed to be on this trip with us, but Natalia knocked her unconscious and took her place instead.
Now, my entire focus is on keeping my omega safe, and I have to stay on the good side of the Adams brothers to do that, so I’ll do whatever it takes to accomplish that.
If I need to put myself between the new granddaughter and Natalia to protect her, then I will happily do it.
It’s a win-win in my situation. I’ll protect their granddaughter and get rid of the major danger for my omega, but keep myself emotionally and physically separate.
I hurry with the tray in my paws to the conference room door and knock, waiting for someone to reply.
My senses are on high alert, and as I breathe heavily, trying to get control of my emotions, that same scent hits me, like a wave rushing over my body.
My fur bristles, and my cock throbs harder, threatening to push out of my loincloth to search for the source.
I stagger, trying to keep hold of the tray, and steady myself as my whole body shudders.
Holy shit! I grind my teeth together and breathe through my mouth, but it doesn’t help.
I can practically taste her, and my paws clench on the tray, buckling the metal, but I don’t drop it in my shock.
I haven’t smelled anything quite as enticing as that since Echo’s last heat.
I take short, shallow sips of air, trying to clear my head as my vision blurs, my alpha need riding me hard to find the source of the scent to mount and breed them, filling their holes with my cum until it drips out.
A growl rumbles out of my chest, and my lightning spikes sharply, bursting out of my tail and bouncing off the metal walls before flowing down them to the floor.
“Fuck, get yourself together,” I growl, shaking my head as I try to clear my senses.
Gritting my teeth, I try to relax my grip on the tray as I wait for someone to acknowledge my knock.
My tail twitches with impatience, but I am grateful no more lightning releases from it.
I need to get myself out of here before my alpha instincts completely take over all rational thought.
My tail flicks back and forth as the door opens.
I don’t wait for an invitation, just shove past John Adams, whose welcome smile drops to a frown of confusion, as I hold my breath and place the tray on a table.
Spinning quickly, I catch sight of the little earth girl out of the corner of my eye, but I don’t pause to get a better look.
If I do, this could go badly for both of us.
