Chapter Five #3

Stephens snorts, but he’s smart enough not to turn his ugly mug in my direction.

“Yep.” I zip up my bag, sling it over my shoulder, and follow Tyler out of the locker room, leaving the ribbing and chatter behind us.

The corridor is quiet, the only sound, our shoes on the concrete floor. “Did you see Bax’s text congratulating us on the win?”

A smile hijacks my mouth, and a weightlessness encompasses me. I want to thread my fingers with Tyler’s, but I don’t dare until we talk with Coach and HR, so I bump his shoulder, then pull out my phone to read the message. “I figured he’d be getting ready for their gig.”

“I wish he were here.” Tyler lets out a sigh filled with the same longing I feel.

“Me too.” I push through the door, and the frigid air slaps at my cheeks.

Tyler pulls his coat closed and tucks his chin into it. “Not sure I’ll ever get used to Minnesota winters.”

“You live here long enough, you will.”

Tyler’s forehead scrunches, lines creasing the smooth skin, dipping down to form a crinkled arrow between his brows, and I feel him deflate next to me.

“Hey.” I bump his shoulder. “Just because you’ve had a rough go of it, doesn’t mean you won’t be here for a long time.” Though if I’m honest with myself, my gut clenches anytime I think about the possibility of Tyler being traded again. Or worse, getting injured.

His footsteps halt, but I’m four steps ahead of him before I notice. I turn to see what’s wrong.

The crinkles from his forehead are gone, and a bright smile lights his face like a beacon. He points, and my gaze follows to where he’s pointing.

“Bax?” I whisper.

“Bax,” Tyler confirms, his grin growing.

Bax waves as he strides to us. Skin peeking out from the holes at the knees of his black jeans, the sheepskin collar of his leather bomber jacket pulled up, and his black boots making him look like the rockstar he’s on the cusp of becoming.

“I thought you had a gig tonight.” Tyler reaches his hand out to touch Bax as he stops in front of us, but pulls it back, looking around.

Bax tucks his hands into his coat pockets, his expression on the verge of shy, which makes me ache to kiss him. Or to have Tyler kiss him. Or better, to have us both kiss him, to wipe any insecurity he may have about this thing between us away.

“I have time before I need to be there.” A gust of wind bursts forth, blowing Bax’s hair so it flops over his eye.

He whips his head to the side, tossing the hair out of his eye.

“But I wasn’t sure if I’d catch you before you left.

” His gaze lands on me, devouring as he slides it from head to toe and back again.

“I hope it’s okay…” His uncertainty is back.

And that is something I can’t have. Grabbing his hand, I tug him to follow, my eyes meeting Tyler. “Come with me.”

Ty’s grin doesn’t waver as he falls into step with Bax. “I can’t believe you came to see us.”

“Is it weird that I’m going to miss you?” Bax’s laugh is too quick, from nerves, and the bloom in his cheeks colors his self-deprecating smile.

“Never.” I squeeze Bax’s hand and dip into a corridor opposite from the one Tyler and I just exited. It’s quiet and smells faintly of bleach.

My bag slides from my shoulder and drops to the floor with a thud, followed by the accompanying thud of Tyler’s bag. I crowd Bax until his back hits the wall.

Shoulder pressed against the wall next to Bax, Tyler leans in and places a chaste kiss on Bax’s cheek. “Thank you for surprising us.”

“Yeah, thank you.” I press my lips to Bax’s other cheek.

His gaze drags between Tyler and me. He wets his lips, and Tyler’s needy groan fills the silence in the corridor, followed by his hand on my back as he erases the minimal space between the three of us.

Bax’s pupils grow and grow and grow until the hazel is only a sliver surrounding black. “I need more than that.”

“We don’t have time to give you everything you need, so this will have to do.” I take his mouth and, just like every other time I’ve kissed Bax, something inside of me slides into place.

I lose myself in Bax’s mouth, the feel of his tongue, the taste of coffee and peppermint, and the only thing that grounds me is Tyler’s palm on the small of my back.

Bax shifts, fisting my coat, and I sink further into the kiss.

Needing more, I reach for any part of Tyler I can find, floundering until I finally slide my arm under his coat and around his waist.

Bax releases my mouth to take Tyler’s lips, but tugs me closer.

My hand slides down to cup Tyler’s firm-as-fuck ass as my other hand finds Bax’s equally glorious backside.

Their tongues twine together, and my dick presses uncomfortably against my zipper.

Another missing piece slips into place at watching Ty and Bax together.

I trail kisses along Tyler’s jaw, then do the same to Bax, inhaling their distinct scents. Scents I’m coming to crave. Scents that combine to make one undefinable, totally unique fragrance that is for me and me only.

I press my mouth to the corner of Bax’s mouth, then Tyler’s, and they break apart enough to let me in.

The three of our tongues tangle as one, and we all moan in unison.

This is what I’ve been searching for. This sense of belonging.

With these two men, I don’t have to pretend. I’m who I am, and they want me.

My fingers dig into both of their ass cheeks, and I wish we had more time. I wish we were somewhere private. I wish we had fewer clothes. Somewhere in the distance, a door slams shut, and we pull apart.

Tyler’s eyes have a wild sheen to them, and Bax’s lips puff from our kisses. I slide my hands up to their waists, pulling us into a hug, pressing a kiss on each of their cheeks. “Ty and I should go.”

“Yeah,” Bax’s voice is nothing more than a rasp.

Tyler places a kiss on Bax’s lips then steps back. “Let us know how your gig went tonight.”

Bax nods, his expression a little bewildered. “It will be late.”

“Text us anyway. If we’re asleep, we’ll see it when we wake.” I look at Tyler for confirmation, but he’s already nodding. “We’ll see you Monday?”

“Monday. Dinner for three.” Bax dips his head down to claim a brushing kiss from us both. “Can’t wait.”
