Chapter Two #3
“I wondered why that hadn’t happened,” Law admitted. And he was proud of Liam for setting boundaries. Law knew that Liam was smart, but this proved that Liam was thinking of their future together. Jude did need help.
Jude nodded. “We’ve discussed it. Liam had that one condition. I can see his point.”
“Is it helping?” Law had to ask. Therapy wasn’t something to be ashamed of. He supported and loved that Jude was getting the help that he needed.
“I’ve realized that I not only owe it to Liam but myself and Sam as well,” Jude stated.
“That’s true,” Law admitted.
“And I will forever be sorry for what I put you, Brody, Angelo, and Josh through,” Jude said. “Now we just have to work you forgiving me.”
“I do,” Law insisted.
“It’ll just take more time to get over it,” Jude said with a nod. “I get that.”
Law thought they were just a bit closer by this conversation.
“But back to Nicky. I wasn’t warning you off. Maybe I overstepped.”
“No.” Law shook his head. “I’ve had time to think things through. The attraction hasn’t waned. I’m going to ask him out.” That was the polite way to put things. Law was ready to claim Nicky. He just needed a sign that Nicky was on the same page.
“Okay.” Jude patted his shoulder. “You have no idea how happy that will make Liam. He has this secret plan that’s not so secret of the two of you getting together.”
Law huffed. “The boy is not as sneaky as he thinks. I’ve picked up on the hundreds of hints.”
“I thought you would.” Jude turned back to the plates.
“Daddy! Hungry!” Liam called.
“Chomp! Chomp!” Nicky shouted.
Law laughed. “At least it’s never boring around here.”
“I’m just grateful that I don’t have to deal with those troublemakers alone anymore. They’re a handful.”
Law was looking forward to it. One boy had been a challenge, so having Nicky and Liam so close and their energy feeding off each other? That was pure chaos.
“And now that Liam has met the chef, I get the feeling that out group will be growing soon. The guy did not even blink at Liam in little mode at the restaurant. In fact, he was just as bouncy and giggly as Liam.”
“Another little?” Law questioned. What were the chances?
“Maybe not.” Jude shrugged. “I do feel like he would fit in with Liam and Nicky though.”
“Interesting.” Liam was new in town so of course he needed more friends. Law didn’t know much about Nicky’s friend group since most of his information came from Liam.
“I’ll finish plating up the food,” Jude said. “Why don’t you grab the bibs from the drawer to your left. We do not want to spend all night cleaning pasta off the boys.”
With a chuckle, Law pulled open the drawer that Jude had indicated. “Not really the best choice of a meal for two littles.”
“I know,” Jude said with dread in his voice. “Last time I had to give Liam a bath since he got noodles in his hair. Eating in the restaurant would have been better since neither would have regressed as much. This is going to turn into a disaster zone.”
Law shoved the drawer closed too hard when he had the sudden image of giving Nicky a bath. He loved bath time with a boy. It was one of the most intimate acts a Daddy could perform for his boy.
“Easy there,” Jude teased. “Don’t go breaking the kitchen.”
He gave a snort before strolling out of the kitchen. Mentally he had to tell his cock to behave, since he knew that nothing would be happening like that yet. Yet being the key word.
Law already had a plan in motion.
While dressing Nicky in his adorable shark pajama set, Law had pocketed Nicky’s little red bow tie. He would have to return that cute little accessory, which meant that he had to see Nicky again.
He walked into the dining room to find both boys stuffing breadsticks in their mouths. The dips they’d left covered on the table were no longer closed. Hell, there was more on the wood than in the cups.
Law sighed, looking at the mess. “I guess I’m too late with these.” He waved the bibs around, showing the boys.
Liam swallowed, his eyes huge, like he knew he was in trouble.
Not the other boy at the table. Nicky laughed, spitting out his mouthful onto the table. “Oops!” He slapped his hand over his mouth. His very red hand that had marina sauce across his fingers now spreading around his mouth. He hummed before shoving two fingers in his mouth.
And now Law was hard again.
“What am I going to do with you two?” Law asked. He set the bibs on the end of the table where sauce hadn’t made it yet. He returned to the kitchen, going straight to the sink and wetting a washcloth.
“What happened?” Jude asked as he finished making the two rainbow kiddie plates.
“Breadsticks and sauce,” Law shared.
Jude groaned. “Liam knows better!”
“I doubt it was your boy’s idea.” No, that mess had Nicky’s name written all over it. Law shut off the water and hurried back to the dining room. He did not trust the two boys to be alone any longer.
“Do not touch that cat!” He ordered just as Nicky reached down beside his chair.
Nicky straightened before holding his hand up innocently.
Law grunted in response. There was no way in hell he would be the one giving murder kitty a bath if the cat got covered in sauce. Law would head for the door and not look back, without feeling a bit of guilt.
Moving around the table, he pointed at Liam. “Hands.”
Liam held up his hands and Law attacked each finger with the washcloth before scrubbing his face. Liam squirmed, trying to get away, but Law was faster. Once he was happy that most of the mess was clean, he strolled over to Nicky.
“Bad sharks don’t get playtime,” Law stated as he started on Nicky’s hands.
Blinking up at him, Nicky pushed out his bottom lip.
“That would be more convincing if you didn’t have sauce all over your face,” Law told him.
“If your clothes stain, I don’t want to hear any whining about it,” Jude said as he entered the dining room, carrying the two plastic plates for the boys.
“But, Daddy!” Liam in fact whined. “You were taking forever and we were so hungry.”
Jude shook his head while placing the plate in front of his boy.
Now that Law had Nicky at least a little less saucy, he grabbed the bib. The bright blue bib with fish was perfect for the little shark. Snapping the cloth around Nicky’s neck got him a grin before Nicky reached for his plate.
At least Liam was trying and failing to use the thick plastic fork that Jude had given him. Nicky had gone straight for the noodles with his fingers.
Since Jude had disappeared back into the kitchen, Law picked up the other bib and caught Liam before he could drop anything on his jammies.
“Tanks, Unc Law,” Liam said with a wide smile.
“You’re welcome, boy,” Law returned. “Just try to keep the food out of your lap.”
“I try.”
That was the best that he could ask for. He backed away from the table to finish helping Jude in the kitchen. Law couldn’t help looking back over his shoulder as the giggles started.
He’d known that he was a Daddy during his first break after completing basic training when he’d gone into LA with some other recruits he’d become friends with.
They’d found a local club featuring BDSM and demonstrations.
Law’s friends had only stayed long enough for a couple of drinks but Law had found himself mesmerized.
Everything in the club had been thrilling, new, and right.
Law had gone back the next weekend by himself.
It took time, mostly due to his young age, but eventually Law began to connect with other Doms and found a mentor. He tried it all, not knowing what he was looking for exactly. Just knowing that something special was out there.
Three months into his apprenticeship, his mentor had brought in a Daddy and little couple. When the pieces had clicked into place, Law couldn’t believe it. The trust the little had in his Daddy was everything that Law had been missing from his own life.
At nearly fifty years old, Law could admit that he’d expected to already be settled down with a boy of his own. That hadn’t happened, even though Law had given it his best shot.
The boys that Law had dated had been great. He was even still friends with some of them. The experience he’d gained in his youth would serve him now when Law felt like it might finally be his turn. He smiled as Nicky slurped down a long noodle. Law had just been waiting for the right boy.
