Chapter 11
XANTHE
I’m aware that he distracted me from our conversation last night, but I can’t even be mad when I got three orgasms out of it, especially when I wake up, and he’s spooning me from behind, his hands cupping my breasts.
He’s naked. I don’t know when he got undressed, but the feel of his skin against mine is magic.
Logic knew no place from the second he touched me.
I’ve wanted this for so long, but I can’t really enjoy it with my mind now working overtime.
He did open up to me last night, but he still wouldn’t tell me exactly what happened with him and Daisy.
What is he hiding?
His hands tighten on me, and then he rolls onto his back, taking me with him. “What time is it?”
“Nine.”
“Fuck,” he mutters to himself, gently running his fingers through my hair. “I can’t remember the last time I slept so long. I usually wake up around five and a few times throughout the night.”
“I had a good sleep too.” I sigh, closing my eyes and enjoying just being in his arms.
It’s not long before he pushes me onto my back and slides down my body, kissing every inch of my skin. “I’m starving.”
He spreads my thighs and starts to eat.
It’s been two days since I’ve seen or heard from Ghost, and as Romeo walks me into the clubhouse, I scan the room with the intention to give him a piece of my mind.
“Where’s Ghost?” I ask the sexy-looking biker.
“He’s not here, he’s away on a run,” he explains, sliding his hands into his pockets. “But I saw Lu and Atiana in the kitchen.”
“Thanks, Romeo,” I say.
When I step into the kitchen, Lu is decorating a cake, while Atiana and her gorgeous daughter, Dove, are sitting at the table watching her.
“Hey,” I say, pulling out a chair and joining them.
Lu studies me. “Hello, I didn’t know you were dropping in today. You look like you need a drink.”
“I can get you something? A beer?” Atiana offers, her kind honey-brown eyes turning to me.
“I’d love one, but I can get it,” I say, smiling down at Dove. “And don’t you look so pretty today in that pink dress.”
Dove beams and touches her hair. “And my hair looks cute!”
“Yes, it does.” I laugh, get up, and open the refrigerator. “Do you guys want anything?”
“I’ll have a beer too,” Lu says, while Atiana asks for a bottle of water.
When we’re all settled with our drinks, I decide to address the reason I’m here. “Ghost stayed the night with me, and now he’s ghosted me for two days.”
Lu’s green eyes widen, and then she starts laughing. “Do you think that’s how he got his name?”
“I love Uncle Ghost,” Dove announces.
“I thought it was because he’s so stealthy,” Atiana adds, eyes dancing with amusement. “So what’s going on with you two? We’re all dying to know.” She covers her daughter’s ears. “Have you had S-E-X yet?”
“No,” I say, my cheeks heating. “But we did do some other things.”
“How was it?” Lu asks.
“Perfect. He was so caring and generous.”
And boy did he know what he was doing.
Lu smiles widely. “You know, when you talk about Ghost, it’s like you are talking about a different person that none of us know.”
Atiana nods slowly. “Yeah, he’s kind of scary and quiet. But when you talk about him, he sounds so sweet.”
“He can be very sweet,” I say, smiling to myself.
“There’s no way Ghost is like that. He’s never said anything nice to us.” Lu frowns, sharing a look with Atiana.
“He never speaks to us,” Atiana points out. “And he doesn’t like any of us touching him.”
“You tried to touch him?” Lu asks with wide eyes.
“I tried to give him a hug once, but it was awkward as hell.”
“He’s hard to get to know, but once you get through the walls, there’s pure gold in there,” I say softly, but then scowl. “Except when he gives me all of that and then doesn’t freaking message or call me.”
Lore steps into the kitchen, his son, Rider, following close behind him. He’s wearing a T-shirt that reads, ‘Exercising Just Enough to Fuck and Fight.’ “What did I miss?”
“Xanthe was just telling us how sweet Ghost is,” Lu says, making Lore stop in his tracks.
“Are you okay? Do you need to see Scorp?” he asks me, touching my forehead as if checking for a fever. He then pulls his hand away, wincing. “Don’t tell him I touched you. He will kill me.”
“Have you tried calling him?” Lu asks.
“No,” I admit, feeling a little sheepish now. “He should be the one calling me.”
Lore throws his head back and laughs. “It’s Ghost. He’s not thinking about all of that shit. Send him a picture of your boobs. He will be here in five minutes.”
“The kids are here,” Atiana whisper-yells.
Lore spells out boobs, just in case I didn’t understand the first time.
“I know how to spell.” Rider laughs. “Does Ghost like boobs?”
Atiana covers her face with her hands.
“Everyone loves boobs,” Lore announces, just as Bones steps into the room.
He smiles widely, his gaze dropping to my chest. “Truer words were never spoken.”
“Look away unless you want Ghost to come after you,” Lore mutters, but he doesn’t sound concerned.
Does Lore ever take anything seriously?
He pulls out a seat and sits next to me. “How was your date the other night?”
“He canceled,” I deadpan, resting my cheek on my palm.
“Has anyone checked to see if he’s alive?” Bones asks, smirking. He lifts Dove into his arms and throws her in the air while she laughs.
“I’m sure he’s fine,” Lore drawls with a blank expression on his face. “Now, I’m going to take the kids outside for a swim in the pool. Anyone want to join us?”
“Sure, why not?” Lu replies, glancing at me. “I have a swimsuit you can wear.”
“Okay,” I say, standing up.
I could use the distraction.
And maybe Ghost will show up and see me looking hot in a bikini.
