Chapter 16
Gio
We stayed entwined in bed until both of our phones sounded.
Jasper let out a groan and rolled off me to dig his phone out of his pocket.
I wasn’t ready to move yet. My entire body felt like it was floating, still blissed out an hour later after the most intense blowjob of my life.
Though, I would have felt the same if it had been terrible, too.
Any blowjob was better than the nothing I’d had for two decades.
But, holy fucking hell, that had been incredible.
My heart was all floaty in my chest, too, knowing this wasn’t one-sided and we could allow ourselves to explore and pursue what this relationship was.
Damn, did it start with a bang. A sigh of contentment released from me as I lay there, pants still unzipped.
I found my glasses on the bed and put them on so I could see Jasper clearly.
“It was Frankie, giving us a heads up that dinner would be ready in ten minutes,” Jasper said as he rolled his neck from side to side, his hair an adorable mess.
He’d been soaked with sweat when he attacked me and the scent of his musk mixed with his typical citrus aroma drove my senses wild.
I’d had my hand in his hair, loving the feeling of it, and using it to keep myself tethered to the moment while Jasper used his talented mouth.
Now, after resting and drying, his loose curls stood up everywhere.
I watched him with a smirk, finding the disheveled look so very sexy.
Jasper noticed me staring, and put a hand to his hair, his fingers unable to glide through it, and grimaced. “I think I’ll take a quick shower. Don’t let everyone wait for me, though. I’ll be out soon.”
“Okay,” I replied simply. I might have had more to say except Jasper began undressing.
Folding my arms under my head, I allowed myself to watch him, now that I knew I had permission to.
Jasper must have felt my stare. Glancing over his shoulder with a mischievous look, he hooked his fingers into his waistband, and slid his jeans down, along with his briefs.
His bare ass rounded with the action as he bent over, sliding the jeans to the floor, giving me a view that had me tempted to skip dinner.
“Fuck me,” I exhaled as Jasper teased me.
When he straightened, he turned around, allowing me to take in the view from the front. “You’re looking a little raggedy there, yourself. You could join me in the shower.”
I was tempted. So very tempted, and nearly found myself agreeing until I realized my kids were here for dinner, and they knew that we were in here, knew we’d gotten the message.
It felt too weird to make them wait because I suddenly couldn’t control my urges after keeping them tamped down for half of my life.
“Maybe not this time.” Half of me applauded the decision while the other half cursed me for it.
“That’s fine, Gio, but you may want to run a comb through your hair at the very least.” Jasper winked before disappearing into the bathroom.
I forced myself to get up, leaving the cozy bliss of the bed behind.
After fixing my pants and tucking my shirt in, I went to the bathroom to assess my appearance, because I did not want to go out there looking like I’d had my soul sucked out through my cock.
At the door, I hesitated, wondering if I should knock or just go in, since Jasper seemed pretty comfortable in any state he was in.
I opted for a combination of a knock to warn him and opening the door before he responded.
My gaze slid to the shower where, unfortunately, the glass was opaque, not allowing a clear view.
I could see his silhouette, though, and I let my eyes linger, tracing the outline of him.
Wonder filled me, knowing that he was mine, that I got to enjoy the view of his beautiful body.
Watching him like this made a pang of guilt appear, too, feeling like a creep.
It had just been so long since I’d had someone I could look at, I wanted to drink it all in.
Jasper somehow was able to read me, even through the glass. “You’re allowed to look, Daddy. I don’t mind at all. In fact, I really like knowing you enjoy looking at my body, it makes me feel sexy.”
“You are,” I breathed out.
“Are what?” Jasper asked with a teasing tone.
He was going to make me say it, wasn’t he? I sighed and forced myself to be bold, while my cheeks heated. “You’re sexy, Jasper. Really fucking sexy.”
Jasper pushed the glass door open and peeked out at me, his gaze roaming from my head to my toes. “Right back at you.” He gave me a wink and closed the door to finish his shower.
Needing to cool down, I splashed water on my face at the sink.
When I looked up at the mirror, I realized how messy my hair was, standing up all over the place, the hair going the wrong way from the part.
I was really glad I didn’t walk right out to the kitchen like this.
It was pure fodder for amused looks and inappropriate comments from Yahir.
Wetting my comb, I worked it through my hair, carefully getting all the black and silver strands back in place.
I did one last look over myself, making sure there wasn’t any…
evidence from the blowjob, though I was pretty certain Jasper had taken care of it all.
The image of him wiping his mouth burned so vividly in my mind, it made heat flow through me.
I had to get out of here fast before I wouldn’t be able to leave.
Without saying anything else, I left the bathroom, and tried to think of anything but his mouth.
Once I felt like I wouldn’t be sporting a boner, I took a deep breath, and walked out of my bedroom.
The kids were caught up in a lively conversation as Yahir recounted his time with Jasper today.
The sound of them helped flip that switch in my head, allowing me to focus on my family and not on sex.
When I rounded the corner, I half-expected Yahir to make some kind of comment, but he looked up at me, opened his mouth, closed it, and simply smiled instead.
“Did Jasper really make you a bee? His very first thing he’s made in his studio and it was for you?” Nicky asked with a look of adoration in her eyes.
“Yes, he did. It’s annealing, uh, cooling, in the kiln, but hopefully you all can see it tomorrow.”
“That’s so sweet. I love that his first thought was you,” Frankie said as they placed the salad bowl on the table.
It was very sweet and it made me smile to think of it. He thought of me. Jasper must have already had a plan in mind when he picked out the colored glass rods from his storage. It made my heart swell to know how much care he put into it.
“He made a bunch of other stuff, too. Jasper said he could have done more, but he was going slower to show me. It’s so fucking cool. Man, I wish you guys could have seen it,” Yahir exclaimed.
“Me too. I would have been there if someone didn’t make me stay at school today.” Nicky tilted her head at me.
“And I stand by that.” I walked over and kissed the top of her head. “I’m sure you’ll get to see it soon. I have a feeling Jasper is going to be spending a lot of time in his shop, and he’s happy to teach, right Yahir?”
“Right,” he confirmed with a smile.
It brought me so much joy to see him like this and I felt so proud of Jasper and the connection he was building with him, with all of them.
Thinking of Jasper, I slid a glance to Noah, who sat there with his nose in a book.
That shield he always had up that allowed him to be included without having to participate.
Only, it wasn’t just a shield, it was something he really enjoyed, too.
I sat down next to him and asked, “How’s the book?”
He looked over the top of it with surprise that he was being addressed. “Oh? Um, it’s good.”
“What’s happening in it?”
Noah glanced around, seeing everyone’s attention on him and he slid down in his chair. “Can I, maybe, tell you later?”
Right. My mistake. I should have asked him in a more comfortable setting like Jasper had, and not in front of everyone. “Of course.”
Noah breathed a sigh of relief. Nicky took the cue and started up a conversation with Frankie about the food, steering the focus away from her brother.
I leaned in and lowered my voice. “Noah?”
“Yeah?” He matched my level, turning this into a whispered conversation.
“I was thinking… when you get ready to start the next book, maybe you could tell me what it is so I could read it, too, and we can talk about it?”
Noah’s eyes widened and he sat up fully, turning in his seat to face me. “Really? You’d want to do that?”
“I’d love to,” I said, trying to portray my sincerity. It made my heart soar to see him perk up.
“Do you, um, have any genres you prefer?”
“No. Whatever you want to read, I’ll be happy to read with you.” I wanted Noah to know that I was interested in him, that I valued him and who he was. He wasn’t simply here because of his sister, he wasn’t merely a tagalong, but that he belonged here, too.
“Okay. I’d really like that. Thanks.” His eyes beamed and a slight smile appeared on his face, which I took as a win. I owed Jasper a big kiss for showing me the way to break through his walls.
Noah retreated to his book, but he would glance over every so often and his eyes would light up, making me feel victorious and proud. I was excited to get to do something that was just for the two of us.
Jasper appeared with damp hair, wearing a blouse with a bold flower print, tied in the front, showing off his stomach.
The shirt was paired with a bright orange pair of pants that sat low on his hips.
I would say he dressed up for dinner, except, I’ve seen the closet he managed to fill, and it was an explosion of colors and textures.
I loved that I never knew what he was going to wear, and he looked gorgeous in everything.
