Chapter 20

Sera

We ran among the heaps in the landfill in the early morning sun.

Clanker kept pace with me, playing music, and I soared, my feet barely grazing the packed earth.

For the first time since this started, I felt light and free.

I was in a landfill filled with obsolete tech in Japan, building a robot while another robot kept me company. It was bliss.

I remembered Dean’s words from last night. You’re sad and that makes me sad. It was so painfully simple, and I spent a long time thinking about him and me, and what it meant to be a person.

Dean was good. He had empathy, he made decent choices, and none of that required a soul. That shifted something for me. Oh, my vendetta wasn’t over, but maybe I could allow myself to see a few shades of gray between the black and white.

Dean was a machine and he was good. A good machine was no longer an oxymoron when it came to him. It was a shade of gray, something in between, something I was allowed to have.

I laughed out loud, running faster and faster, and Clanker chased me. Motori flew over us, shouting that she left food for me in the factory fridge, and I whooped at the sky in thanks. It felt too good to stop, so I ran for almost an hour, taking only short water breaks.

“I thought you meant another type of cardio,” Clanker said a bit sulkily when I stretched in front of our shack, and he brought me a bag of toiletries and a change of clothes.

I sat on the ground, shielding my face from the sun, and he moved to cast a shadow on me.

No longer blinded by the sun, I looked up, leaning back on my hands, and just admired him.

I could admit it now, and it didn’t make me feel like a shitty little traitor.

He was hot. The towering presence that once terrified me spelled safety now.

He was strong, and he carried me without trouble.

Talking to him was fun. And I loved his face and all of his expressions, the smiles, the glares, and the one he made when he came, a bit slack with his eyes flaring bright from pleasure.

“There are many types of cardio,” I mused, ogling him shamelessly with a huge grin. I would ride that endorphin high right to the end, I decided. Even if it ended in tears. “And I said this is a cardio day, didn’t I? It’s only morning, Dean. The world is our oyster!”

“A 3D printer,” he said, cocking his hip. “Just saying, it’s more appropriate.”

I laughed, giddy and electric, and jumped up to grab my things. I showered as fast as I could, then wolfed down three turkey sandwiches Motori left for me.

“Twelve minutes until we have to hide, Sera,” Dean said when I brushed crumbs from the front of my top. “Chop-chop.”

“My, are you that impatient to be locked up with me?” I asked, laughing.

“Always.”

There wasn’t a hint of a smile on his face when he said it. I sighed, taking his hand. “I’m ready. Let’s hide.”

Dean squeezed my fingers, then picked me up with one arm, neatly throwing me over his shoulder. I squealed, partly in outrage, but mostly because it was fun. God, he was just so much fun.

He barged into the shack and locked the door, letting me to my feet. The AC rattled, but at least it wasn’t too hot. I stretched my arms high, and Dean crouched by his backpack, rummaging inside.

“I want to show you something.”

The purple indoor lights brightened when he stood up, his back turned to me.

He did something, hidden from view. There was a soft click, something akin to a sigh, then a flare of bright light cascaded down the wall he faced.

He stood like that, a tower of a cyborg, without a word, still turned away.

I realized whatever was about to happen was important.

“I won’t laugh, whatever it is,” I said, remembering he demanded that of me once.

He nodded, and my heart squeezed. Just when I was about to ask what was wrong, Dean spoke.

“I worked on this last night and finished it today when you were in the shower. It’s new and clean. I probably should have gone with the safer option, but this feels more like me. I’ll understand if you’d rather not.”

“Dean, what are you…”

He turned, and I fell silent, watching the enormous length between his legs. It stood proud, a clear erection, red and angry, with a row of smooth, silvery protrusions running along the shaft like—like piercings. I looked up at Dean’s face, but it gave away nothing. He took care to look neutral.

“Do you want to fuck me?” I asked, my heart beating faster now that I understood what this was about.

“Yes. Always.”

I glanced down, my throat too tight to swallow. “Um, I agree it’s very, uh, proportional to you, but I’m not, you know, built for that size. Probably. I mean, it looks… Big.”

Painful. I didn’t say that out loud. He chose that dick for himself, and I could either grin and take it or refuse.

I didn’t want to refuse.

“Most sensors are in the tip,” he said, gripping the shaft with his hand. His index finger stroked the tip, and my knees weakened. That silvery metal hand clashing with the deep red looked obscene. God.

“As long as you let me put in the tip, I’ll be happy.”

I looked around, feeling hot, reckless, and strangely awkward. A fleeting memory of my first time, back in senior year, flashed through my mind. It felt like that, only worse, because I was supposed to be experienced.

But this was a first for both of us. For Dean in so many more ways than for me. I took a jerky step closer, my gaze straying to the red monstrosity.

“So you will feel through it?” I asked. “Like when I touched your core?”

He nodded, thrusting into the cage of his fingers. “Yes. It feels amazing when it’s just me touching it. I imagine touching you will blow my core.”

I licked my lips, taking another step closer. The blunt tip pointed right at my belly, hovering an inch away from my body. Dean’s hand slid off it, and I looked up, right into his blazing eyes. His face was calm, but the light always gave him away.

I looked down. Yes, I could take just the tip. I grabbed the bottom of my top and pulled it off, baring the scars on my back. It was all right. He had seen them many times.

“Wait,” he whispered in a hoarse, inhumanly low voice. “We’ll have twenty-one minutes.”

He undid his collar and laid it carefully on the nearest table. A hot shiver ran down my spine. “Why does it need to be off?”

“Because I want to feel everything,” he said, the slightest shiver entering his voice. “I want to be able to think how gorgeous you are, and look at your face, not just your tits and ass. I want to feel you, our connection, and not just how wet you are. Do you see?”

My heart did a somersault, elated and dreading it at once, but I pushed the dread away. I could cry later. This was now.

“I see.”

I stepped closer, letting his cock press into my skin.

It was stiff, a proper, hefty dildo. I ignored it for now, running my hands up the armor on his stomach and chest. I traced the shapes of muscles that were carefully designed by a robot architect and assembled in a factory in Brazil.

Dean was silent. I looked at his face for cues, but it betrayed nothing.

My breath hitched, and I stifled a nervous laugh.

“I don’t know what you’re thinking. Or feeling,” I admitted. “You’re so still and quiet.”

“I’m recording,” he rasped. “Making a memory. I can hardly think. You’re so beautiful, Sera. It’s such a relief to be able to feel all this awe. That you are here, with me.”

I nodded, reaching up to caress his cheek. “You’re beautiful, too,” I whispered, pulling him down even as I surged up on my tiptoes to reach. “Such a beautiful person.”

We kissed. I tasted metal, electricity, and the sun that warmed him. Dean made a rough, eager sound and grabbed my ass, lifting me effortlessly until I straddled his stomach.

I chased his tongue and coaxed it deeper into my mouth, sucking on the hard metal lips that could stretch in a charming smile thanks to many years of tireless robotics research.

I caressed the shapely head that hid processors, not a brain, and pressed my hot core to the armor covering his core, the part that was his essence.

It, too, was made. I didn’t care.

“Eighteen minutes left,” Dean whispered into my mouth without a breath or movement of air. “I want to be inside you. Please.”

“Mhm. How about we make it wet first? Let me down.”

As soon as my feet touched the floor, I slid down to my knees—and laughed. It was too high up.

“No, Sera, this isn’t what I planned. Fuck. No, I take it back. Do whatever you want.”

His cock was in my hand, and I stroked it slowly, watching him so high up above me. One of the tables strewn around was more like a low stepping stool than a table. I pulled it closer with a harsh scrape of metal, bunching the rug. No matter, we didn’t have time.

“There, perfect,” I said with satisfaction, kneeling on top.

He stepped wordlessly closer, his cock nudging my chin. I looked up as high as I could and gave him a long, explicit lick. He made no sound. I tried again, and still, nothing.

“Dean,” I said, fondling his length. “I’m sorry, but my self-esteem is taking a hit. I need you to react—somehow. Please. Show me I’m doing a good job.”

“A good job?” he asked with a strained smile. “This is fucking perfect. You’re so good at licking my cock, sweetheart.”

My pussy gave a hungry throb, and I nodded breathlessly. “Thank you.”

This time, I took him in my mouth, valiantly stuffing the wide head inside. I made it wet, and Dean’s hand buried in my hair, messing up my braid.

“This mouth was made for sucking my cock,” he rasped, and I kept going.

I’d be happy to do it for hours if he praised me like this.

“I feel you deep inside me. And I’m going to come with your lips wrapped around me, just like this.

It will be imprinted on my core forever.

Look up. Up. Higher. Yes, you look gorgeous.

Look how well it fits. Try to take me deeper. ”
