Chapter 13

Viper leaned back in his seat, crossing his arms over his chest. “So, we’re thinking a friend of hers lured her to this club, got her to let her guard down and then she was taken?”

“What about the friend?” York asked, following Viper’s train of thought, one that Viper had been leading up to asking.

“That’s what I’m leading with. The friend is also missing.”

“You’re thinking it has to do with this club?” Diesel asked, looking around the room at everyone for their opinion.

“How do we know these clubs are connected?” Pratt asked, throwing her question into the ring.

Taz stood up as she walked to the front of the room where Oz was standing. Pulling down a white screen, she nodded at Oz who pulled up a chart on the screen. “When Krieger started his organization, it was technically him taking over his fathers. On the Forrest City line, the father went by the street ‘vampiristic’ name Igor. Under Igor’s name, he owned a club called…”

“Crimson Mist” Diesel answered softly, everything suddenly falling into place for her. “My father and Alex frequently would go there, It’s pretty much where most of the men in town would hang out. I know my grandfather believed in vampires and felt he was a descendent of Dracula. My grandmother would usually say it was the musings of an old fool, but it was used in his skits when he would swindle people. To anyone outside the town, it was believed my grandparents had the ‘gift’ of predicting the future. The old gypsy song and dance.”

“Your father, Alex, and other five brothers are all members of the Golden Fang MC.” Oz announced, not looking up from his laptop, earning a smack from Taz.

“Forrest City is where Crimson Mist is. From there, we were able to figure out that while Krieger’s father used the name Igor, Krieger used Vlad and your brother Alex used Lazrus. From Forrest City, the next place they went was Miami. There, your brother Alex helped start the club, Ascension. Alex is also the head of the Miami chapter of Golden Fang.”

“Oh my God!” Diesel said, her eyes going wide, looking over at Viper with fear in her eyes.

Ignoring the fact that she was in uniform and that they were at her place of work, Viper pulled her out of her seat and placed her in his lap, his arms going around her as she leaned her head on his shoulder. He dared for anyone to say anything yet knowing no one would.

“Keep going.” Viper said, rubbing Diesel’s arm as he continued to hold her in his arms.

“You sure?” Taz asked, willing to give Diesel a few moments.

Viper nodded giving Taz the ok to continue on. “From Miami, we head to Chicago. In Chicago, they started a Golden Fang chapter there, overtaking a MC there called Red Saigon, which surprised me considering how large and strong that MC was, but they wiped them out with no repercussions. In Chicago, The Vault was opened, which is now run, both club and chapter, by your brother Andriy, who goes by the name Alaric.”

Viper had to keep from pulling Diesel back down when she sat up, tears in her eyes, to look at her teammate. “When did Miami and Chicago take place?”

Taz looked from Diesel to Viper before answering. “Best time frame we can figure, is Miami started roughly ten years ago, Chicago a year later. From Chicago, they went to NY. NY was opened five years ago, along with the Golden Fang chapter, led by your brother Dymitrus who goes by Dmitri. The club started there was Prey.”

Upon hearing the club’s name, Viper went stiff. It couldn’t be, could it? His sister Bella had gone to a club named Prey three days before her disappearance. The best they could find was that was the only time she went to the club. Neither she nor her friends were into vampirism. Her best friend that she had gone to NY with never dressed goth like and didn’t go gaga over vampire movies like most vampirismic people do.

“Wait, does that mean Colona was a trial run for them to try and make another Forrest City?” Diesel asked, looking at her teammates, before looking at him.

“Would make sense. Colorado isn’t that far from the border of Mexico. They could run their products from there to Az or California then down into Mexico or any ports near there. If he started his own airport, they could make up whatever manifest sheet they wanted to make it look like they were carrying something else than what they really were. FAA wouldn’t have sent agents to go there unless someone filed a complaint.” Oz advised everyone in the room, causing the team to look at each other.

“Fuck! Lester is known for human trafficking. Colona could have been where they were going to start their operation for human trafficking. They had plenty of space in that town.” Diesel realized as she started picturing the area in her mind again.

“Any of these clubs ever reported for running girls?” Kermit asked, sensing where Viper’s mind was when the NY club was mentioned.

“From what reports I can find on Miami, Chicago and NY, yes, there was suspicion, but no proof. If you go by the actual blueprint that is found, everywhere the cops searched would have shown something. But something tells me that the blueprints they were given are the newer updated ones. Not the ones with the actual tunnels, underground rooms that were known for in those areas back in the day.” Oz replied, pulling up a few blueprints for the team to look at.

“That was Andriy’s specialty. He loved old buildings. Used to talk about all the underground tunnels and how the mafia was able to get away with so much shit because of them. He and Krieger would spend hours talking about them. Krieger’s father knew his way around a computer, so he knew how to bury a lot of shit.” Diesel informed her team, looking at the blueprints as if it was bringing up memories. “My dad used to joke that at least one of his sperms was smart and even made comment at one time about Andriy going to college to study architecture.”

“What about LA?” Pratt asked, her hand going to Diesel’s leg in support.

Taz looked like she wanted to be anywhere but where she was at that question. “LA is their newest spot. Golden Fang is in a tug of war with the Red Dragon MC there. They have also opened a club called Eternal Night which is where Diesel’s daughter was seen at the night before her abduction.”

“Which brother is with that chapter?” Diesel asked, getting out of Viper’s lap, standing tall next to him.

“Symon, who goes by Sin.” Taz answered, watching Diesel for her reaction.

“Oh God!” Diesel said softly, swiftly walking out of the room, rushing to the bathroom to purge her coffee and toast.

Viper jumped up to run after her before Pratt, York and Raso told him to stay and that they had her, not waiting for his response. What was it about this Symon character that pushed her over the edge. He would give them a few minutes, if she didn’t come back in and let him know she was ok, women’s bathroom be damned.

“Ye really do care for her.”

Viper turned to look at Marcus when he heard his statement. “Of course I do, I wouldn’t be here, doing this for her if I didn’t think she was a good person.”

“So, you’re telling me if it was York, Rameriez or one of the girls from ye club that was in this situation, ye would have agreed to be their man with a ring on their finger until they were safe?”

Viper started to answer, but then had to stop himself for a minute. He wanted to say yes, but he couldn’t get it to voice out. He kept getting ready to say yes, but each time he stopped himself before he could. Fuck! It would be a lie.

“Anyone ever tell you that you’re an asshole of epic proportions?” Viper asked Marcus, glaring at him when he chuckled, realizing he walked into a trap.

“They have her, let them do their women thing that they do.” Marcus mumbled softly, trying to calm Viper down.

“Something about that name sent her over that edge she was fighting. That bothers me.” Viper admitted, rubbing his face with both hands.

“I know. We’ve all noticed it. When she’s calmed down, she will tell us what happened or have one of her teammates tell us. Be patient.”

Easier said than done, Viper thought but knew that Marcus had a point.
