Chapter 37

It took her forty-five minutes to get everything dealt with and for them to get back to the house. Sgt. Brocard had called a team meeting with everything, Viper’s team and Highlander with his team included. Diesel sat next to Viper as her team leader laid everything out for Bravo Squad, her team, and everyone else in the room.

“We’re seriously debating this?” Peaches asked, looking around at her teammates before looking back at Sgt. Brocard. “There’s no question, if I need to lay my badge down to rescue Diesel’s kid, where do I lay it?”

Diesel had to fight the tears from falling when each member of her team, Bravo Squad, Toi and Angel, all said the same thing. When Dom agreed with the women, she was literally shaken to her core.

“Why?” Diesel’s gravely voice fought to ask.

“Why what?” Dom turned to her and asked, anger showing in his face at her question.

“Why would you give up your badges, your careers for me? Just like that?” Diesel asked, snapping her fingers.

“Would you do the same for us?” Duong asked, hands on her hips as she stood up.

“Yes, without hesitation.”

“Then why are you shocked they would do it for you?” Viper asked, turning her face towards him.

“Babe, these people are your family. They have gone through hell with you in your career. You’ve gone through hell with them. You all may not have agreed with some things along the way, but you’ve already shown those of us who have only known you a short time how you guy’s work. You talk, you listen, you fight amongst yourselves, you fight for each other and you’re there for each other without hesitation if one of you needs the other. So, why are you shocked when they, including Dom, would give up their badge if it meant bringing your daughter home?”

“Because I didn’t tell…”

“I swear to all that is holy, if you say it’s because you didn’t tell us your birth name or what happened to you, I’m going to kick your ass so hard you won’t be able to ride your fucking Harley for several months!” Sgt. Josephine ‘Josie’ Moyer growled at Diesel from beside Sgt. Brocard. “I may be the Sgt. for Bravo Squad, but you’ve always been there when I have needed you, just like the others. Your family. This is what families do for each other. Knock your sappy shit off and let’s deal with what else we need to do so we can get this party started. We have shit to do, woman!”

“Bossy much?” Diesel fired back, laughing when the other woman flipped her middle finger up at Diesel.

“Okay, that’s one thing out of the way. Diesel, do you and Pratt want to present your case to Viper for the men?” Sgt. Brocard asked, stepping to the side.

“Case? I know you want us to call in another biker gang, but Kermit, Cowboy and Houston were mum on who it was. What’s going on?” Viper asked, looking over at the two women curiously.

“Jackson Delbert,” Diesel said without hesitation, looking Viper in the eyes.

“The Satan’s Outlaws head honcho?” Dom asked in shock as he looked between his sister and Diesel.

“Yes!” Pratt answered her brother, watching Viper and Diesel’s exchange, before patting her husband’s leg as she stood up. “Hear us out. LAPD is already worried about the Fangs going after them. If they are taking out other bikers that they think pose a threat, what’s stopping them from going after the Satan’s Outlaws next? Right now, they have stayed away from them, mainly going after those that they deem child’s play for now. But once those guys are out of the way, if they truly want to be the head, well, only biker gang in the world, they need to take out the biggest and baddest, which is the Satan’s Outlaws. Jackson is the grandson of the man who started the club.”

“He’s one of the most protected bikers in the history of protected bikers.” Showalter pointed out. “But I think I can get him to meet with us. Odin will want to be there since I am his sister. I say if we can get the meeting, set it up for tomorrow, give Odin time to get here. I know he and Jackson have history.”

“Wait, Odin and Jackson have history?” Sgt. Moyer asked, looking over at Showalter in shock.

“Without going into the full story, let’s just say Jackson is a brother. The history goes back to my and Jackson’s grandfathers. Ramblers started the same time as the Satan’s Outlaws. Both men fought together in the second world war and saved each other’s lives. They kept in touch with other until one died, and the other was there to help the family. Ramblers, under my father’s rule, forged a deeper bond with Jackson’s dad, despite them being best friends growing up thanks to our grandfathers. While we don’t carry the Satan’s Outlaws insignia, we are a chapter that if anyone fucks with us, including me, they are dealt with.” Showalter informed her team, leaning back into her seat. “So, that being said, you all unknowingly became protected by Jackson as well, once Odin told them you went after the fucker who tried to end me.”

“Wait, so if you call Jackson, he’ll meet up with us, no questions asked?” Diesel asked, watching Showalter’s expressions.

“Especially you, Pratt, and York. Jackson has always watched out for you three the most…”

“Wait! The day that Jonathan came home and agreed to the divorce…”

“Oh, that was Odin and Jackson together. When I told them what that fucker had done to you, how he put you in the hospital, yeah, they were the ones who fucked him up.” Showalter smiled big at that memory.

“What did he do…”

“It’s old history, hottie scotty.” Showalter advised, her smile falling. “We leave that in the past. The only reason the fucker is still alive is because Red here would have been the prime suspect, and she was getting her spark back. Her family, minus Dom, would have said it was her. While I know Dom would have had her back, I wasn’t putting him in that same boat as her.”

“Thanks, Amanda. But even if they had come after my sister or me as prime suspects, there would have been enough doubt cast with his dealings. Yet, with his family ties, I agree, they would have used my sister as the scapegoat on this one. I do owe Jackson and your brother a thank you and a beer or two for what they did.” Dom said, walking over to his sister and pulling her into a hug when he noticed her blank stare and stiffness at the memory crashing in on her.

“Let me call Odin. He can call Jackson, set up the meeting and come up himself to join us. He’s been wanting to come up this way to have a weekend getaway and see Jackson. This is his chance.” Showalter walked away as she pulled out her phone.

“This family keeps getting more awesome as this case unfolds.” Angel quipped, causing Pratt, Diesel, and York to laugh, shaking their heads.

“If you only knew, my dear! This family always rocked. Now you and Toi get to be a part of it!” Diesel winked at the two women.

“We have set the meetup! Odin and two of his guys are on the way. He did a three way so I could answer whatever question Jackson had. We’re meeting Jackson in a neutral spot. We chose the Santa Monica Pier. It’s out in the open and we can blend in. Jackson knows we have Reginald and McBride. He confirmed Woody is an enforcer for the Red Dragons and they had been watching them lately because of some rumblings they had gotten but knew nothing about the Fangs. So, he was open to the meeting.”

“What time tomorrow?” Pratt asked, sitting down on Highlander’s lap when he pulled her to him.

“We’re set for noon tomorrow. Gives us time to get up, get situated and get there. It’s going to take us roughly half an hour to an hour to get there with traffic. If we go on our motorcycles, it might be closer to half an hour. Odin and his boys will be here tonight. They can come here and then we bunk them with Kermit and the guys?” Showalter suggested, looking at the men in question.

“Works with me. I have no issues with the Ramblers. They have always done right by us,” Viper answered, nodding his head over at Jacko, who nodded back in agreement.

“Alright, so, now that is out of the way. What do we do about McBride and Reginald?” Diesel asked, grinning over at Showalter, who grinned back.

“Showtime! Boys, if you want to watch and learn as two masters go to work, you’re welcome. Ramz, get the popcorn, Linds, get the beer. I’ll grab the chairs.” Pratt squealed out when Highlander smacked her ass as she got up.

“Watch and learn?” Kermit asked, looking between the two women in question. “Am I going to need a towel?”

“What the fuck do you want a towel for?” Houston asked, causing the women to laugh.

“Cause he’s going to get a real woody and probably pop his cheery watching Diesel and Showalter interrogate these two. Although I want to tag team with York on McBride and let Showalter and Diesel have Reginald.” Pratt suggested to Showalter and Diesel.

“If that’s the case, might need several towels. One for Kermit, one for Viper, one for Highlander and one for Jacko.” Dom laughed as he smacked his brother-in-law on the back.

“I say we also bring Toi and Angel in on this one. They have a talent that can work with our skill set. Help them hone theirs for Delta Squad.” Showalter also suggested, grinning at the other three women.

“Oh, this party just turned into a rave. I’m totally down for this shit!” York clapped, stepping forward as she joined her best friends and partners.

“I’m down for a party.” Toi agreed, smirking at Angel, who shrugged.

“I could always use some fun,” Angel agreed, nodding at Toi and the others.

“Woot woot, let’s get this party started!” Rameriez jumped up and headed to the kitchen, getting snacks prepared for everyone.

“She’s seriously getting us snacks?” Houston asked, watching Rameriez dancing around in the kitchen.

“These chicks take their interrogations seriously, so, aye, she’s getting us snacks to watch as they have their fun.” Highlander laughed as he settled back to watch his wife confer with the other five on how to do their interrogations.
