Epilogue
5 years later
Only Hades Ashford could pull off being grumpy on his own damn birthday. Having all these people smiling in his face only pissed him off further. All he wanted that day was to be nose deep in his wife’s pussy, but her hardheaded ass hadn’t listened to his wishes.
Harley went behind his back to plan this elaborate surprise party in the underground with the entire motorcycle club, and now he had to pretend he was thankful and shit. Over the last five years, he did a lot of that for Harley. She called herself trying to make him a better person who smiled more and had better people skills. He did his best, but even that was all pretend. Deep down, he still enjoyed raising hell and making people uncomfortable. He chilled out a lot since being around her though.
“Get that frown off your face,” Harley said, walking up to him and wrapping her arms around his waist.
“Wipe it off my face with your pussy.”
“Oop,” Cati said as she walked by with a pan of chicken wings.
“Hades!” Harley scolded, hitting him on his solid chest and blushing fiercely.
“Man, fuck these people. Cati knows all about getting her lil coochie ate. Look at her.”
Harley looked behind her just as Major grabbed the pan of chicken from her sister and scolded her for carrying it. That baby in her stomach had Major acting crazy as hell when it came to her, but Harley loved to see it. After all Cati had been through, she deserved to be treated with the utmost respect.
After turning back to Hades, Harley said, “I don’t really want to think about my sister’s coochie.”
“Well, come put that pussy on my face so you don’t have to think about nothing else but getting a nut.”
After all these years, Hades still hadn’t gotten his fill of her. He craved her every minute of every day, and she wasn’t much better.
Harley sighed and then clapped her hands. “Fine. I guess you held out for two hours. That was more than I could ask for. Can you get everyone’s attention, please?”
Hades didn’t hesitate to clap his hands together loudly, creating a series of thunderous sounds. “Aye! Listen up!” He looked down at Harley. “What am I telling them to listen up to?”
She giggled. “I got it from here, sweetie.” She turned to everyone. “Let’s make our way upstairs. Those of you that can take the stairs, please do!”
Curiously, everyone walked toward the stairs and elevator, while Harley grabbed Hades by the hand, winking at Lucifer, who walked ahead of everyone.
“What are you up to, man?” Hades asked as they walked toward the stairs.
“I’m with bro on this one. What are you up to, Lady Bug?” Sage asked, catching up to the happy couple.
Blair and Eris joined them, and Cati waddled up soon after. Their friend group was a decent size, and they all felt more like family. After Drew was sentenced to life without parole, even as a paraplegic, Harley took some time off from her job and focused on building her relationships with the people around her. It was the best decision she ever made. She finally didn’t feel guarded or alone. She didn’t feel like she deserved to be isolated or punished. Hades didn’t realize it, but the day he set her free, she truly finally felt free.
“Ma’am, go take the elevator,” Harley demanded.
“Uh uh, leave me alone. Why do we have to go upstairs anyway?”
Cade and Major caught up to them, and Harley said loud enough for them all to hear, “Just wait and see. Practice some damn patience.”
“I don’t have any patience left for the day, Tink,” Hades grumbled.
“You’ll be okay.” She reached up and pinched his nose, causing him to frown before he growled and picked her up, throwing her over his shoulder.
She shrieked. “Hades! Put me down!”
He walked them up the rest of the stairs and said, “I’ll put you down, but just know after this surprise, we’re leaving.”
“Fine.” She giggled as he put her down, and then she pulled him forward to the front of the crowd and out the front door.
Lucifer sat on Hades’s bike with a huge smile, causing Hades to march over to him. “Have you lost your mind? You know nobody rides my bike aside from m?—”
He stopped in the middle of his rant as he noticed the little addition on his bike. It was a sidecar with the words Daddy’s Little Rider on the side. Hades turned to find Harley, who was behind him, holding up a small leather jacket with a yellow patch on it. In a daze, Hades slowly walked toward her, tears threatening to fall from his eyes.
It had been a really long five years. Pregnancy hadn’t found Harley easily, and that caused Hades to spiral many times. Not because he wanted kids with her so bad, but because it seemed cruel that God wouldn’t give a baby to the one person on earth who deserved to be a mom. She had undergone many tests and treatments, and nothing seemed to work. Until now.
“Is this for real?” Hades asked gently, ignoring all the eyes glued to them.
Harley nodded with tears streaming down her face. “I’m officially twelve weeks along. It’s been the hardest thing to keep from you, but I wanted to be sure?—”
Hades lifted her into his arms, hugging her tightly to his chest and pressing her head into his neck. Tears fell freely from his eyes as he paced back and forth with his entire world in his arms.
Harley Cruz had come into his life with nothing but herself to offer, and she ended up giving him everything he needed. In this lifetime and in the next, he would love her. He would love their child. He vowed to give their baby a life they couldn’t even dream of as kids.
When he pulled away, she gently wiped his tears as she smiled through her own. This right here was his happily ever after, something he never thought he was worthy of. He would protect it until the day he died, and he didn’t plan on that being any time soon.
As everyone around them cheered and clapped, Hades stayed locked in on Harley, feeling his heart speaking to hers as he pressed his forehead into hers. He wished he could stay in this moment forever.
“I love you, Harley. I love you so much.”
With a smile that softened his heart completely, she said, “I love you, too, Hades .”
