~Vorzyr~

Magnificent destruction ran rampant all around me.

Raging flames encircled me.

My flames.

I watched with amusement as my opponent attempted to huff, puff, and blow the fire away.

In all fairness, it was one of the stronger abilities known to his kind as Ice Dragons of House Vortimer.

But it was still futile.

I was no ordinary dragon of my kind. I was the strongest of the ruling House. Something I’m sure my father would argue about, because he hadn’t yet accepted that his son had usurped him in that respect.

Although, the demonstration I was putting on now would certainly assist with that.

A demonstration that Draven Vortimer had forced.

The heir to House Vortimer had challenged me.

Worse than even that, he’d threatened me.

He’d even used one of his other unique abilities—a fucking lightning strike—to decimate a turret of my castle.

Considering that one of my trials as a teenager had been to build my own home from scratch with my abilities while in full dragon form, which had taken weeks upon weeks to achieve and had required mustering perfect control over my gifts, destroying said creation had been a real bitch move on that bastard’s part.

House Titanus was the strongest of the dragon bloodlines within the Dracoryn Realm, possessing unmatched ruthlessness and raw, destructive power. “From Ash, We Rise” was our motto.

We ruled over all else, but that fact also invited constant challenges.

And that was what Draven was doing now.

What he was making the mistake of doing.

All without the blessing of his mother, too.

I caught a glimpse of his blue and silver scales a moment before he employed his Thunderstep in an attempt to blast through my flames with a burst of teleportation.

As I’d predicted, a howl tore from his throat as he failed, and then I heard the thunderous rumble of one in full dragon form rolling on the ground trying to put the fire out that had attacked his body. He’d succeed, but not without sustaining damage.

While he was reeling, I flicked my tail right through the flames, not suffering any damage myself because they belonged to me, and I caught his belly and sent him careening into his home—an ice mountain that was mostly just ash and leaking water now thanks to my retaliatory efforts.

He screamed as he careened into it, and I watched over the flames as he tore right through what little was left of it and spun out into the sky, struggling to regain his balance.

He had to shift out of his dragon form to manage it and get control, and then he was teleporting back before my circle of flames.

I shifted back too—it was dishonorable to attack a dragon in full dragon form, while they were in a pre-shifted state.

And then I thrust my hands forward and my circle of flames became two streams that I directed right at him, the furious fire cutting a path across the black, charred ground headed straight for him.

“I yield!” he screamed, just before they hit.

Having supreme control over my fire abilities, I was able to hold steady at his cry, just before they made contact.

He lowered himself to one knee immediately to emphasize his determination to surrender.

“You win, V!” he called over. “I’m sorry.”

I called my flames back and groaned in rapture as I reabsorbed them into my being.

Before I could take stock of my victory and revel in my superior performance, I caught sight of dragons in flight approaching, recognizing my father’s markings in amongst half a dozen others. I could feel the negative energy radiating off all of those concerned.

I knew it didn’t bode well.

I’d lived it before.

I stilled.

Before.

This had already happened.

I looked out at Draven and he suddenly dematerialized.

So did the incoming dragon horde headed straight for me.

All that remained was the charred ground, the sight of Draven’s destroyed home, then the rest of the ice mountains flanking the area.

I frowned as they took on a vibrant-blue sheen that was unnatural compared to their usual appearance.

It hit me then.

Of course.

“Incubus!” I called out. “I can feel you now! Show yourself!”

When there was no response, I spoke again, “The fact that I’m able to sense your interference should concern you, if you don’t make yourself known as I’ve asked.

I have the ability to resist magical influence, but I can also manipulate it.

If I breathe fire right now, it will harm you in the waking world. ”

A few more moments passed, but then with a burst of black smoke, he materialized into being, appearing where Draven had been but moments ago, several feet from me.

“There’s a great deal unknown about me, specifically.

If it’s any comfort, I’m sure your comrade wouldn’t have ordered you to dreamwalk me if he’d known about the danger that I could truly pose to you in this state.

I believe he thought I would be the one in danger from you and your Incubus abilities.

It is sweet how willing you were to risk that and help him, though.

You hold him in high regard and trust him dearly, yes. ”

“I do,” he answered, a little unsteadily, after all I’d just revealed. “That’s why when he tells me something is off about you, I believe him.”

“So, he sent you to try to learn more about me in an attempt to gather information so he can perform his puppet mastery on me?”

Instead of answering directly, he asked me, “Is this why you were sent to Maven Academy? Because you basically destroyed that other dragon?”

“There was a lot of collateral damage and heavy destruction before we reached his home in this space. That was more of a concern. I could have taken it easier during that aspect of our battle, but I didn’t.

He needed a full demonstration of my wrath and thirst for destruction.

I refused to show mercy to him or those who watched our battle, especially those who underestimated me and had hedged their bets with him. ”

“Wow, that’s… a lot.”

“Well, we live in a time of control and repression. Something I don’t take well to.”

“I get that,” he murmured, his sexy horns glowing with his magic, the sign that he was highly-emotional.

Since discovering that Kai Hunter was close and allied with the Incubus, I’d done my research on his kind.

That had been a little difficult, because he was actually a hybrid, and part sorcerer, so it hadn’t been clear where the line between true Incubus and what he was capable of was actually drawn.

I strode toward him and he tensed, and shifted his weight in his sexy black leather pants and extremely tight blue shirt that was basically molded to his skin and his chiseled torso beneath.

“You’re a gorgeous specimen,” I told him, as I stopped just a couple of feet from him, marveling at his expressive ice-blue eyes and his layered dark-blue hair that brushed his shoulders.

He tensed even more at my words.

“Not to worry, your allure doesn’t work on me.”

“Your interest alone could be what I’m actually concerned about.”

“I doubt that.”

I brushed some strands of hair out of his eyes and tucked them behind his ears with sensual movements that had him trembling, a little telltale moan escaping him.

“How about you play nice and tell me what Kai’s true intentions are with Ariana, and why he’s so threatened by my presence in her life?”

“It’s the other way around.”

“He’s concerned about my intentions?”

He nodded.

“How so?”

He shook his head and didn’t answer.

“Hmm, he believes them to be predatory, is that it? It’s the likely conclusion given what I am.”

“Maybe.”

“Interesting, so he is protective over her. It certainly didn’t come across that way with what he’s been doing to her.”

“What do you mean?”

Ah, so he didn’t know the ins and outs of it.

“He’s been using her repression against her to degrade her.”

“No. Kai wouldn’t do that. He wouldn’t take advantage of somebody in that situation. He knows how it is with me. He wouldn’t cross that line because he knows how it feels for me to be in that state.”

Well, that was sad.

He had so much faith in somebody who didn’t deserve it.

I pressed my hands carefully to his temples and he flinched, but didn’t move away, as I pushed part of my memories into him.

“Should I make you choke on my cock instead? Mmm, I’d wager you’d look so fucking wanton and stunning with a mouthful of me.

Watching you splutter and gag, tears streaming down your cheeks as you struggle to take me deep, as you taste me on your tongue, then frantically work that throat like my good little slut to swallow down every drop of my cum. ”

“Shit.”

“There’s a good little slut, show me how much you want it.”

As I pulled away, he gasped, his gaze snapping to mine with a whole lot of shock, his struggle to absorb it clear.

Of course, I hadn’t shown him the entire thing, or the parts where Kai had taken care of Ariana afterward.

That hadn’t been enough aftercare as far as I was concerned anyway.

Not after what he’d already subjected her to.

She was a goddess, not a fucking toy.

“No,” he started saying. “That’s not what you think. He just likes talking dirty. It heightens everything for him.”

“Is that so?” I said, feeding him another part of what I’d overheard.

“I love hearing you choke out my name all desperate like that, but that’s not what I asked. Say it.”

“Please.”

“More.”

“I hate you!”

“Yet, you can’t get enough of me. Now fucking beg for my cock like the dirty little slut that you are for me.”

“Please… fuck… fuck my ass.”

“Mmm… there it is… excellent. As you wish.”

He pushed away from me and staggered back. “Stop.”

“All right. Because I respect what others want. Unlike Kai. Clearly. She hates him, yet she’s allowing him to do those things to her. He’s clearly blackmailing her, possibly using her current weakness against her to play with her as he wishes.”

“Fuck, it must be the spell.”

“Spell?”
