“I’d actually like to be consumed by all three of you.
To lose myself to it completely. But tonight needs to be about Vorzyr.
It’s already been about me, and then about you.
It’s even been about Nyx with Vorzyr’s connection with him, even the two of you giving Nyx what he needs.
But Vorzyr hasn’t been so fortunate. He needs this tonight.
But I also don’t want it done without the two of you present. ”
“You want to be consumed by us? Wow, that’s really something, sweetheart.”
“We’ve been together in pieces, but never as a whole.”
“And it’s got you craving it, having us all over you at once?”
“Pretty much.”
Expecting him to escalate the sexual talk, I was pleasantly surprised when he stroked my hand and told me in an understanding and sweet tone, “I’m proud of you.
I understand what a risk you’re taking by letting us in—in all sorts of ways.
It means a lot to me, and I know it will to Nyx and Vorzyr as well. ”
When he went to pull away, I squeezed his hand, then carefully used my magic to push at his mind.
His eyes shot wide, before he stepped closer and squeezed my hand back, then allowed the push, opening himself.
I smiled as I felt the intimate sensation of our minds locking together.
“I need to mind-link with Nyx for what we’re doing tonight.
I can’t have him verbally calling out Vorzyr’s state to me, it will be off-putting and could have him shutting down, as well as sullying the mood.
But I also knew that you would be beyond pained if I didn’t do this with you first. I know how much you’ve wanted this, to deepen our connection, for a long while. Since we were kids, actually.”
His eyes were shining at me, emotion bleeding through.
“Thank you, Ari. I have wanted this for a while, and it feels better than I’d even imagined. Giving me this, trusting in me to do this together… it means everything.”
“I’m sorry I pushed you away, that I pushed myself away.”
“I know you are. It’s okay. It’s in the past now. So, where do you want to take it from here? Where you’re concerned? Not us, okay? You.”
“After we figure out the test, I’m going to take back my full power.
Not just because my family wants me to, but because I want to be whole.
And I’m not as afraid to be as I was before.
I mean, there’s still fear, but the urge to be myself again all the way is stronger.
And that’s never been the case. A great deal of that is due to you, to the three of you. ”
I felt him break the mind-link on his end, and then he was wrapping his arms around me and holding me tight to him.
He stroked my hair, and we both sank into the closeness.
When we finally eased back, he asked me, “So, what’s the other aspect of tonight?”
“Something that you’ll enjoy immensely. To do this thing with Vorzyr, we’re going to head to Meforian Forest. It’s where he obtained that Celestial Eclipse Peony for me.”
I saw the realization hit him instantly. “I wondered how he was able to get his hands on one of those. They’re rooted in myth and aren’t accessible or even visible to non-Celestial beings. He has a Celestial blood connection, as we’d already suspected with him being able to cure my infection.”
“Exactly. The Primal Celestial Resonance ability he displayed could have been a latent ability, an outlier, something that came from dragons interacting with Celestial beings centuries ago, Celestial magic being found somewhere deep in the lands of the Dracoryn Realm. But both those things combined prove that it’s more than that.
It’s a blood connection. And tonight, in Meforian Forest, I’m going to reveal some more Celestial lore.
Lore that is buried in secrets, that non-Celestials aren’t privy to.
” I smiled. “I thought you’d enjoy that. ”
“I absolutely will,” he exclaimed, excitement all over him.
“Following our trip there, we will actually head to dinner. The reservation I told you that Nyx made for us is real. Our first date as a foursome.”
“I can’t wait.”
I leaned in and kissed his cheek. “Get dressed and I’ll see you in the lot in a few minutes. We’ll be teleporting together.”
With a wave of his hand, he magically-dressed himself.
He looked sexy as hell with his hard leather trench coat with the collar turned up, a tailored fitted black shirt that really did wonders for all that muscle definition beneath, and a pair of black tailored pants with matching leather boots.
His espresso-brown crew cut with the textured waves on top was impeccably styled and set in place within an instant as well.
“Already good to go. No waiting.”
I grinned. “Perfect.”
With that, I took his hands, and teleported us into the parking lot.
When we rematerialized, I saw Nyx leaning against Kai’s Audi and waiting patiently.
He looked lovely, a midnight-blue silk button-up paired with black leather pants. The black leather really brought out his majestic horns protruding from all that vibrant-blue wavy hair that brushed the shoulders.
He spotted us right away and strolled up with some hot swagger that definitely caught my attention. Judging by the glint in his eye, that had been his intention.
His gaze raked over me, and even though the dress was hidden beneath my cloak, I could basically see him imagining it vividly as he looked me over.
“Tone down the fuck-me eyes, dirty devil,” Kai told him. “The way you’re looking at her is threatening to shatter my self-control right here and now.”
Nyx chuckled. “As if you standing beside her looking all suave and spicy like that is helping.”
“Spicy?” I giggled, unable to help myself. “That’s a new one.”
“And, Halo, you gazing intently at my horns really isn’t helping matters either.”
“I… sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry, just call it like it is.”
“I have this urge to… touch them,” I admitted.
“That’s to be expected. We got carnal together. You’re gonna be drawn to them. Not in a free-will-confiscating allure way, more like a natural progression of the sexual connection and growing intimacy between us.”
“Oh, I didn’t know.”
“It’s not something they teach here when it comes to supernatural species. They kind of keep away from the sexual aspect, except where potentially dangerous things like allure and coercion are concerned.”
“Maybe after dinner, you can let her glide her soft, warm fingers all over them,” Kai suggested.
“Dammit, Kai,” Nyx choked. “Do you want me to jump the both of you right now?”
Kai smirked. “Always.” But then he shifted his weight and folded his arms across his chest. “But, Ari is right, the focus first needs to be on V. He needs us.”
“Yeah,” Nyx agreed, blinking out of his turned-on state and getting a hold on it like Kai clearly was. “He needs our help.”
Before anything more could be said, the sound of a door slamming drew our attention, and we all turned to see Vorzyr storming out of the main building.
I saw Nyx shuddering, obviously feeling the overwhelming negative emotions radiating off him.
He caught my eye, and then he was pushing gently at my mind.
“Struggle, frustration, anger, and even potent fear.”
I gave a discreet nod of my understanding.
And then I took in Vorzyr as he caught sight of us and approached, that barely-controlled volatility, a stark contrast to the sleek and fancy way he was dressed.
He was wearing crimson leather pants this time with golden threads, along with an open-collared, crisp white shirt, his thick gold chains and the jeweled pendant of the dragon’s head hanging around his neck.
That ornate high-collared crimson and gold coat with the encrusted rubies completed his look.
He pulled up short when he saw the three of us standing there.
“Sorry,” he offered, as he came over. “I guess I’m still a little worked up from the brutal justice session.”
It was worrying that he was still framing it like that.
It wasn’t even torture to him, it was just… necessary? Shit. He was in a really bad headspace.
Not for long.
As he reached out, I grasped his arm, and he trembled, his need stark and undeniable.
“I know why you’re truly worked up, what’s down at the bedrock of it all.” I smiled up at him, a promise in my eyes that he frowned at, not sure what to make of it. “We’re going to see to that before dinner.”
“Before dinner? What are you—”
In the next second, I swept all of us up in a cloud of teleportation.
We rematerialized in Meforian Forest.
I breathed in the freshness of the surroundings, the air thick with enchantment.
Gnarled trees twisted toward the sky, their bark slick with silver moss. Mist clung low to the forest floor concealing our path in soft, shifting clouds through the trees.
As Kai and Nyx took in the unique surroundings with this being their first time here, Vorzyr spun toward me, confusion swimming in his molten golden pools. “Meforian Forest? Why did you bring us here?”
“You’ll see,” I said, gesturing for the three of them to follow me.
As I led the way, Vorzyr called out to me, “You knew about the Celestial Eclipse Peonies, didn’t you?”
“Yes. It just wasn’t the time to get into all of that. And I couldn’t understand how you knew about them either. It took some time to figure out. But after what’s happened, it is time. More than that, it’s become undeniably apparent that you have a connection to this sort of thing like me.”
As we walked deeper into the forest, everyone immersed in a heavy, stunned silence, I felt the air shift. It was subtle, but unquestionably charged. As that sensation deepened, I followed it with the guys at my back, knowing it was my guide toward that which I wanted to show them.
And there, tucked beneath a veil of wild ferns and bramble, the Celestial Eclipse Peonies revealed themselves, sensing my presence—well, more specifically, my Celestial being. And now, as had become clear, Vorzyr’s also.
