Chapter 11

She didn’t see me as she and the big man hurried through the parking lot. I wanted to jump out from behind the parked car, but I held my place. I would follow them to their next destination and slid into the car I borrowed.

I was no match for a man that size. Not without a gun and I didn’t have one of those. I never liked guns. They were too loud and messy.

Storm was always too smart for her own good. I admit my hand may have been heavy the other night. I was in a rush. She had disparaged me one too many times and I couldn’t stand it any longer. The others needed to see her for what she truly was. A selfish, arrogant bitch. She needed to go quickly and leave the president position vacant for a more rightful person to hold.

That was what I had wanted—to be rid of her for good. No one would ever suspect me. I didn’t have to worry what an autopsy would say. By the time the poison was discovered, I would be long gone.

The big man made several turns, making following him difficult. I wasn’t a low-life criminal. I didn’t participate in car chases and such. But I couldn’t allow them to get away from me.

Storm would not leave this island alive, even if my only choice was to throw her into the mouth of the volcano.
